Solicited by Rick Perry
August 13, 2011 | Hellbender

Posted on 08/13/2011 1:17:43 PM PDT by hellbender

Today I received a phone call from the Perry machine. And I mean machine, because it was a "live" recording of Tricky Rick supposedly answering voters' questions in real time. One caller asked Perry to identify the nation's enemies and describe how he would deal with them. The answer was complete formulaic pap, completely dodging the issue. Perry named Chavez and Ahmedinejad as the only enemies, and Israel as our friend. Rick, you are over your head and not ready for prime time. Chavez and Ahmedinejad get their weapons from Russia and China, who block every attempt of the U.S. to fight Iran and all our other lesser enemies. China is the greatest threat, yet we feed them with our suicidal "free trade" mania. Israel is not an ally, they are a dependent whose support has cost us billions, while the majority of American Jews undercut American security (and that of Israel) again and again.

I am looking for someone who is going to start to identify our real enemies and propose real solutions. Rick is going to continue globalism, open borders, servitude toward Muslim states, and the buildup of China.

What a bunch of crap. I guess the answer to all of our ills is Ron Paul? The kooky, crazed old guy with goofy shoes? Yeah...right..we need to allow Iran to have nukes..it’s none of our business.

Perry can beat Obama..Paul cannot even win a primary much less a Presidential campaign.

No, I'm not a Ron Paul backer, but Paul has principles and doesn't follow fashion, as does your hero Perry.

Just being "not bad" or "strong enough to beat 0bama" is not good enough for me.

Any of the Republican candidates is better than 0bama. Even Rudy would be better than 0bama. Your man hasn’t a clue about what is going on in the world. He just thinks that repeating slogans about his loyalty to Israel and bad-mouthing tinhorn dictators will resonate with people who act on instinct rather than brains. As candidates like Huckabee proved, you can go a long way with that strategy.

Yes, I’m sure a reasonable person expects an automated phone call to provide an encyclopedic answer.

Good luck to you on finding your candidate. I’ve selected Perry.

The "automated phone call" was a recording of Tricky Rick responding to what was supposedly (and maybe actually was) a question from a voter.

Perry completely flubbed the question, yet his handlers thought it was worth broadcasting, because they regard Pubbies are fools who think that someone who simply sounds better than 0bama is worthy of their support.

Sounding better than 0bama is easy. Saving a country in a state of desperate crisis demands much more than a mental lightweight and lifelong pol like Perry has to offer.

-What a bunch of crap. I guess the answer to all of our ills is Ron Paul? The kooky, crazed old guy with goofy shoes?

-Palinista or paulista? Despicable post.

Perry supporters remind of The Left. They have no deeply held principles, so they resort to name-calling and attacks. That is all they really have.

We can see Rick Perry supporters viciously attacking Sarah Palin and Ron Paul, two stalwarts of the Tea Party. We might not agree with Ron Paul's stand on wars and we might not support personal liberties as much as he does, but he is smart man who is very principled. He has been the only member of congress through the years who steadfastly advocated limited government and he is the only one who stood for clean government and politics.

Ron Paul is a *respected* member of the Tea Party. The Tea Party openly welcomes Libertarians in our quest for limited government.

Tea Party members and sympathizers, Rick Perry is going to try to steal Tea Party votes. I hope you are able to see through the phoniness. He is an empty shirt. He is milquetoast.

He is too calculated to take risks or strong stands on our issues of limited governments and free markets. He is an Establishment Republican who will kill the Tea Party.

Tea Party members: please reject Rich Perry and his supporters. They are just an ugly mob. They are politics as usual.

I probably won’t vote for Perry in a primary but you may be sure I will be out there campaigning and writing a check when the general election comes along and he is the man of the hour. The problem with your position is that we don’t need to do the job for the Democrats in bloodying our surviving candidate. Hostility, negative nicknames, and criticism should be reserved for Obama, not for a single one of the conservative candidates.

The problem is that I don’t think Perry really is a conservative at heart. He is a politician above everything else. He supports immigration policies and tolerance for the hate cult of Islam which are going to utterly destroy this nation, even if 0bama is defeated.

Your anti-semitism is showing. You and Obama seem to be two peas in a pod. He hates Israel too.

or Perry / Susana Martinez.

I like that idea as well, but is she ready for prime time? Once I came to believe Palin wasn't running, I've been predicting a Perry/Rubio ticket. I like Susana, but have seen so little of her I wonder if she'd be ready for the national spotlight yet.

You do realize that there are backward messages on robocalls from Perry and, since you answered the call, you’ve been subliminally brainwashed and will soon be supporting the agenda of Bilderbergs, don’t you? Soon, seeing a black helicopter above your home will bring joy to your heart!
