Allen West: Ron Paul ‘Not the Kind of Guy You Need to Be Sitting at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave’

Ron Paul probably shouldn’t expect a presidential endorsement from Florida Rep. Allen West.

The Republican congressman had some strong words for the candidate Saturday, two days after Paul suggested during Thursday’s GOP debate that Iran be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon because so many other countries already have them.

Speaking at a Tea Party event in Fort Lauderdale, West said he was deeply concerned about U.S. foreign policy, and particularly the threat Iran poses to the rest of the world.

...The problem with foreign intervention is not going all out. Do it with extreme prejudice...

...Do we or do we not have the best technology and deadliest weapons???

Yet if Ron Paul would have received only 153 more votes in the straw poll, he would have beat out Bachmann-Rollins.

Cut and run should have brought more dope. I heard he ran out and most of his supporters lost interest.

Lets discuss this rationally. 1. The US should be defending the US, not the rest of the world at our expense.

We can cut back billions if we let other nations defend themselves. 2. The Paki's have nukes and you see how much we can trust them!

3. We can make it very clear to the Muslims if a nuke goes off in the US or against the US, Mecca is going to be nuked.

4. I have no problem attacking Iran as a terrorist nation, using any means at hand.

5. The US outspends all of the nations of the world on defense, we are in no danger in being outspent.

But we need to spend money wisely, not just spend money for the sake of spending it.

We need to get our finances in order or else we won't have a nation do defend.

6. What Paul critizes is the Neo-Con/Wilsonian view that has us interfering in every nation's business.

It is that that causes a backlash against us.

It is one thing to disagree with the TeaParty over the debt deal and it is another to actually attack them.

And he was wrong and they were right!

I was a huge AW fan and he lost me over his votes. I think he is a patriot, a great American and has earned a ton of deserved respect for his military service.

His service in congress however is a big disappointment. In a Palin or any other admin, I would LOVE to see him as SecDef...The military is what we KNOW he’s great at and where his talents would be best employed IMO.

Really? And how are you going to do that?

Boy, it sure is easy to use rhetoric!

Well, it seems the Congressman is good at giving speeches saying one thing, but voting another way.

That sounds like a politician to me!

It is irresponsible to put the defense of the US first and not police the world? Wasn't that what Washington advocated?

Yes. I lost respect for him when he attacked the tea party.

He is an excellent speaker, puts Obama’s teleprompter readings to shame, but he is voting like a RINO.

I hope he wins his district again rather than a Dem, but he can do it without my money next time.

Of course he is right about Ron Paul, but that’s an easy call.

Agree with ‘Great American’ status. Does appear GOP seems to ignore his strengths, however... or, perhaps, I have just missed their open support of West.

GUNNY G: AMERICA GETS A SECOND CHANCE TO DO THE RIGHT THING: DO NOT SCREW UP AGAIN...

In life, men sometimes get a second chance, good men even fewer second chances. Republics may get no second chance at all.

Without question, you can vote your choice lesser of evils— the SOS, technically qualified, NBC candidate—then again, some say voting doesn’t mean a thing.

AGAIN! RON PAUL IS THE ONLY CANDIDATE AVAILABLE TO RETURN AMERICA TO ITS ROOTS! OF COURSE, MANY PEOPLE REALLY DON’T WANT THAT!

THINK.

2008 —2012
RON PAUL: The ONLY Choice!
“In a United States so locked into a ‘march step’ mentality among its War Leaders, and Politicians, in leading their citizens into further expansion of their World War, Congressman Paul ‘crossed the line’, according to Russian Political Scientists, when he recently stated upon the floor of the United Congress:
“Patriotism is more closely linked to dissent than it is to conformity and a blind desire for safety and security.

Understanding the magnificent rewards of a free society makes us unbashful in its promotion, fully realizing that maximum wealth is created and the greatest chance for peace comes from a society respectful of individual liberty”.

On defunding...did forget about that one ...OTOH, more of our Repubs could learn the value of deconstructing both messenger and message from Obama,Inc. - and not leading from behind. Demoralizing to see so many of them stuck by their own cowardly PC... ( Palin certainly exempted here and a few others, just not enough of them - whether looking for 'ticket' or those 'leading' in Congress.)

You mean like voting for earmarks, his support of ethanol subsidies, his lack of plan for auditing and replacing the Fed and for his vote against Cut, Cap and Balance? that, fiscal policy?

I should point out that Allen West voted for the final bill that raised the debt ceiling. This bill contained NO cuts until 2014. Allen West is part of the establishment and a complete fraud.
