And yet, where are the Republican candidates who say right now that when they are elected, they will slash the EPA until it returns to its original, very limited mission?

And not just the EPA. The downsizing of the federal government should be a top priority for all Republican presidents. Right now they could, as a group, be collecting signatures from congressmen and senators who will back this deconstruction.

What is enough? 20%? 30% 40% or more?

Say to the EPA, “Your budget next year will be half of what it is right now. Downsize accordingly. Start from the most recent hires and policies, and work your way up and back.”

Why don’t the states have the balls to tell the EPA that they will not recognize regulation of enterprises within the state. Tell the to FOAD and then dare them to do something about it.

Nuke the EPA. Fire every lo-IQ lard ass, porn surfing, affirmative action parasite who loves to ruin the US economy with idiotic environmental regulations.

I don't get this. I worked for Bechtel Corporation 39 years ago in Wyoming on the construction of a coal fired power plant that was state of the art back then and I'm sure all of the plants are up to those standards today. With the giant percipitators and electrified stacks the emissions are just steam. No different than natural steam emissions. What are these nuts doing?

This is one that can’t be hung on the current president’s coattails. It stems from the inability of past Congresses, (and Presidents) to agree upon, establish, (and stick to), long-term energy development and air-quality improvement programs.

The american public - and environment - continues to be held captive of the election cycle. We need to change that. >PS

Do the math, kids. The industry says the new rules will close one fifth of all coal plants. Coal plants provide 45% of our generation capacity. That means that about 8 or 9 percent of all electrical generation facilities in the US will be closed by these rule changes. Now, perhaps they can be upgraded to reopen, but imagine any industry that is told they have to repair or replace almost one tenth of all its equipment ... especially the most expensive equipment.

You have to believe that mr. 0bama is either completely stupid, or he is being deluded by those who wish to destroy America, or he himself is actively trying to destroy America.

Couple this with the news that was posted here yesterday about Exxon losing 2 of 5 drilling permits because of a contract error. Looks like a pattern.
