A Palin Announcement on September 3rd Looks More Likely
Big Government ^ | Sunday August 21, 2011 | Natalie Nichols

Posted on 08/21/2011 11:51:59 AM PDT by Bigtigermike

If the Republican Presidential race were a poker game, you could say that Palin, the underdog has remained in late position long enough to see the full ring, to expose the live ones. She’s learned their tells, and she’s seen some bust, but now it’s time for her to go all in with what looks to be a royal flush.

If you’re not a poker player, you may need a poker dictionary to decipher my analogy. And “they” think she doesn’t know how the game of politics is played. The good old boys just never realized that she wasn’t playing by their rules.

If, or rather when, Sarah Palin announces her candidacy for President; Republican polls will likely shift in her favor.

[...]

It’s looking more and more these days as if Sarah Palin will announce her run for the White House in short order. If you keep up with Palin’s history, you may come to the conclusion that there is no accident in her decision to go to Iowa September 3rd for what many believe will be her big announcement. September 3, 2011 is three years, to the day, that Sarah Palin accepted the nomination for Vice President and gave her famously rousing speech during the Republican National Convention.

[..]

72% of likely Republican voters say when casting their primary vote, they favor a candidate who shares their views over one who has a better chance of winning.

That turns the notion of people agreeing with Sarah Palin, but “don’t think she can win” from a negative, into a potential strength. They are going to vote for her regardless, thus, breaking the mold of the typical voter.

... and I think she knows it. If she doesn’t, it might screw her for good.

I'm leaning toward that as well. The backlash will be tremendous & severe and she will be diminished beyond recognition (imo) because there are many who have banked on an announcement and touting her bona fides; including myself. But I have to admit, I'm getting weary of this. This is not a game.

The Independents will NOT vote for Sarah. Period.

You are wrong.

I was at a party yesterday talking with a 40ish female doctor, registered independent and an 08 obama voter.

She axed me which candidate I favored and when I told her that Sarah was my favorite, she said, "Oh God not her".

When I asked her why not Sarah she told me that Sarah is too stupid to be the President.

Rather than try and persuade her with logic, I simply asked, what if, in the general election it's Sarah or obama.

She said, OK it's got to be Palin, we can't take another 4 year term of this.

I know it's not every one in the Country, but she is an educated, independent woman that voted for the messiah in '08 and will vote for Sarah in 2012.

Don't tell me, just because you don't like Sarah, that no independent voter will vote for Sarah Palin when faced with another four years of this asshole.

Hey, did you see this? It's an ABC News piece about KKK Founder, Nathan Bedford. Is this guy a hero of yours? How positively revolting.

No wonder you have no shame or sense of honor. All makes sense now.

“She has much to lose, and not a lot to gain.”

Because being President of her country would suck for her?

Beck has made snarky remarks about Gov Palin on his radio show. I cannot remember the topic but remember thinking what an ahole he is. He’s a self-serving, emotional, loose cannon borderline drama-queen.

Once disparaging or snarky remarks are made, and I don’t mean by the LSM, but by those that Gov Palin has been gracious enough to help (Bachmann is a prime example) and they turn around with smart *ss remarks or attacks, I’m finished with them.

The “respect” that he has for her seems to surface only when he is attempting to get a crowd together.

Sorry if you are a fan but that’s the way I view it.

“Well, if she doesn’t announce soon, she is going to lose her edge. We have Bachmann, Cain, and Santorum...”

Nuff said. She would kill any one of them.

Personally I think it’s about time she announced her intentions or get off the pot.

This.

At some point it's going to start looking like a game, if it's not already.

"In 2008 it was three times as worse than what any other VP or even Prez candidate has received in living memory"

You weren't around for the 1964 election, were you? LBJ's campaign against Goldwater was far and away the most vicious I have ever seen. His gutter tactics were extreme, and to cap it off, there was the famous A-bomb commercial. Johnson accused Barry Goldwater of wanting to do everything (except an actual declaration of war, unless you count the Gulf of Tonkin thingy) that he ended up doing himself.

Yes the MSM helped him do it then, and they were far more powerful than they are today, not that will stop them from trying. Funny thing is that a couple years after that election, the MSM wised up a bit and turned on Johnson. Guess what, stress cracks are showing in the LSM right now, and it may be that they could turn on the mess-siah and help someone else be the dumocrap nominee, and the only likely crap-pot available is likely Hillery Rotten Clintoon.

Either way we will sin, our girl is a heckuva lot better than theirs!

Flanking movement? Sneak attack? Unexpected political savvy from someone that wasn’t supposed to be this smart, according to “conventional wisdom?” There’s more, but those are my favorites.

I assure you I would never call Sarah Palin a “quiter.”

Me, I was hoping she'd have been the first to announce.

I'm sure you were. That way the press could have spent every waking minute for 18 months lambasting Sarah rather than vetting your candidate-of-choice.

"Pay attention to what the media is doing here!

NO ONE officially associated with the event has said Palin will announce. The media is setting it up for when she doesn’t announce on Sept. 3rd, that she’s a tease, not committed, not serious, etc. etc. etc.

The truth is people involved in the event are stating that if you’re planning on going Sept 3 just for the big announcement, you’ll probably leave disappointed.

sillsfan,

We have a winner!!! You have nailed it. Suddenly Rove is a Palinista? I don't think so. Where did his sudden interest in Palin come from? Only to delay her and discourage her supporters.

I am seeing a dangerous meme being started by those who have no love for Palin. Rove and others are suddenly Palin experts and are saying that she will announce on the 3rd. This is a set up. When she does not announce then they will try to discourage her supporters by pushing the lie that she let them down. Hold your fire. This woman knows what she is doing. She will announce when she does.

A great deal has been happening lately and the pace is accelerating. Beck mentioned this recently. There have been several very important and insightful articles about Sarah posted here in the last week. Probably the most important in my opinion is the podcast of Tammy Bruce's interview yesterday with O4P organizer Peter Singleton.

http://tammybruce.com/2011/08/public-podcast-iowa-palinista-peter-singleton.html?utm_source=twitterfeed

Both of them had important insights and information. The interview clicked and they were thinking like one mind. Peter said if you are going to Iowa only expecting to hear Sarah announce then you should save your money and stay home. It will be an important event though. He expects her to announce later than Sept 3. Please listen to the podcast at the link.

I think the most important part of the podcast is the point that Tammy and Peter make that Sarah is the tip of the spear. We are the spear head, the shaft and the thrower. (sort of my words here and those of another poster). She can't do this without us. Tammy suggested that one of the reasons Sarah is waiting is to see how much grassroots support rises up to assist her.

Sarah is not going to restore this nation for us. We are. We as soveign, responsible citizens are. Sarah is a fighter and a doer and she will do a lot in office. But her most important role that I see is as a cheerleader to waken up the real Americans and those who want to be to restore this nation.

Reagan did this too. His legacy is those he inspired and those he brought into public service. His team, his contingent. Many here today were inspired by Reagan. Some like Mark Levin have very visible roles. Many more are now needed today.

This was the key point of the podcast. Not what will Sarah do, but what will you do? That is a more difficult question. Obama supporters saw him as taking over their lives and buying them gas and paying their mortgage. Those who support Sarah are different. We are builders. We are doers like her.

Everyone, please listen to the podcast. It is very encouraging. It helped me see well beyond the election.

Regards, Mr. Sol

She should wait until after November or early January.

No later than November: HOW TO FILE FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY
How to File: The filing period will be between the first Monday in November and the third Friday in November or during such other time period as the secretary of state shall announce. A declaration of candidacy must be filed in the New Hampshire Secretary of State’s Office along with a filing fee of $1,000. Declarations of candidacy will be available from the secretary of state’s office. The information required on the declaration is as follows . . .

I'd like to see her wait until the middle of that period, but I don't think it's an option if the base gets too excited about September 3. The rather large swings when a new candidate announces (Trump, Perry, etc.) suggest that voters are waiting for someone new, probably a particular someone - and we all know who that is.

I disagree.....she likes Glenn Beck and he greatly respects her.....there is no reason NOT to appear as Candidate for President at his rally....it will only bring more people....

Trisham says she's an independent but the first words on her profile are..."I'm a Conservative".

Which is true? Which is a lie?
