On Rick Perry
Myself(Vanity)

Posted on 08/22/2011 2:44:38 PM PDT by JosephSmithNAW

Rick Perry definitely has problems not the least of which is on illegal immigration but compares much favorably to Mittens. Anyway, the presidential primary is one big jumble right now.

What is more disturbing, according to me is what is happening in Congress. It is simply amazing what Boehner and McConnell got away with by selling out to Obama during the debt ceiling debacle. Right now Freedomworks, Club for growth and similar organizations are involved in primary campaigns to weed out the RINOs. I hope they succeed because that is the only way we can get new leadership in Congress.

In this regard, Lindsey Grahamnesty deserves special mention. How long do conservatives have to endure this jackass? I hope some serious conservative finally retires him this primary season.

If we are going to weed out the RINOs let’s not overlook the many socialists among the congresscritters.

This information came straight off their website in a publication called “American Socialist Voter”

I made a mistake. Its seems Lindsey Graham is not up for re-election this season. He is up for re-election only in 2014.

Sorry.

Why does Perry have problems with illegal immigration? He’s put more manpower and money on our Border than the feds, including into the virtual fence that the democrats scratched, parts of which are still working. He’s putting right now 100 new returned vets into Game Warden positions because they can go on any property without a search warrant, including federal parklands. And he’s engaged the national guard on the border to help patrol. Unfortunately can’t move more national guardsmen down there.

He tried to usher through the Sanctuary Cities bill that has many of the Az1070 bill’s clauses in it, after it got stalled in the legislature.

If you’re talking about the Texas Dream Act which allows foreign children raised here all their lives whose support of the state with tax dollars on every purchase for them, to PAY in-state tuition. I might remind you that there are already the many foreigners in the Texas College and University system who never put a dime into this state.

Stop toting around the democratic bucket of horse manure about Rick Perry!

I can assure you that the concerns about Perry on immigration is not a democratic talking point. Even Mark Levin mentioned it on his show the other day while defending him because he was under attack.

Rick Perry might become the eventual nominee. Doesn’t mean certain important concerns should not be raised and his stand on these issues is explained in more detail to the public

Also, I agree with you to the extent that of late Rick Perry has done positive things about stopping illegal immigration.

The consequences of another Obama term is so dire, we need to get behind whoever wins the nomination. No sitting this one out. No one issue votes.

The entire country and our very future is at stake here. Unite, not divide.

It's been well known that Bob Filner (D-CA) is a registered socialist. He's retiring from the House to run for mayor of San Diego.

It's a "non-partisan" office with the top two primary going to a general run-off. His district hasn't fallen much into the city limits.

The other "major" candidates are all Republicans.

Nathan Fletcher is a RINO. He just voted for AB499 giving 12 yos the right to consent to vaccinations and STD "preventative care" without parental involvement or notice.

Bonnie Dumanis is a former judge and current DA.

Carl DeMaio seems to be right-most and been pushing a reform agenda on the city council for more outsourcing, restructuring of pension benefits (petition drive on now) and education reform (petition drive failed due to a campaign to flood in fraudulent signatures).

Mmmmm---Perry makes a pretty picture---on all fours, all puckered up, sucking up to foreign interests.

<><>HONORED BY MEXICANS<><>

Perry thanked by Mexicans for giving illegals in-state tuition Sr El Perrista
receives a blanket from Mexican Gov Enrique Martinez of Coahuila, as a token
of appreciation for enacting the Texas Dream Act.

<><>COZY WITH MUSLIMS<><>

30 October 2009
Rick Perry, the Mosque, and his agreement with Muslims
Published in The Ismali

Austin, Texas — At the invitation of Texas State Governor Rick Perry, Mawlana Hazar Imam traveled to Austin yesterday to sign an Agreement of Cooperation between the State of Texas and the Ismaili Imamat. During the visit, Hazar Imam and Governor Perry also held talks at the State Capitol on a range of issues of mutual interest. Describing the importance of the agreement, Governor Perry explained that “traditional Western education speaks little of the influence of Muslim scientists, scholars, throughout history, and for that matter the cultural treasures that stand today in testament to their wisdom.”

<><>DOING BUSINESS W/ THE CHINESE<><>

Perry focused on the Chinese companies ability to create jobs in Texas........while national security experts concluded that the global telecom giant poses a potential cyber-security risk to the US military and US businesses. Three times since 2008, a US government security panel has blocked Huawei from acquiring or partnering with US companies because of concerns that secrets could be leaked to China’s government or its military.

<><>USE OF GOVERNMENT POWER<><>

Perry also facilitated the Trans-Texas Corridor by using the governmental power of eminent domain to take land from Texans and give it to foreigners. You can bet that PO'ed land-loving Texans. (NOTE The Trans-Texas Corridor is a NAFTA-style super-highway that would eventually unite the US with Canada and Mexico, threatening American currency and sovereignty).

Frankly I don’t give a flip what Mark Levin says...I live here. I’ve watched my Governor defending our border. And I keep myself apprised of every issue.

The idea that Rick Perry is soft on immigration is horse hockey! And I don’t care whose mouth it’s coming out of.

If Perry forced gardasil on Texas to take care of the drug maker because he took lots of campaign cash from them , then what is he willing to try and force on America to payoff his 2012 campaign?

There are concerns about Perry on immigration but too many are ignoring all the things he has done while accepting on faith other candidates, without clear immigration records, will "do the right thing."

I agree with you on that one. Rick Perry is a governor with a record and that too of a border state. Therefore it is easier to find problems in his record.

Overall though, he has been a a good governor for Texas and everything in his record suggests he will be more fiscally conservative than George.W.Bush. Those are some of his plus points

Of late Perry has been focused on the border and, IMO trying to cover for his decades of pro-illegal talk and action, supported the sanctuary cities bill.

But surely you know better than to qualify his DREAM Act for lifelong-resident illegals. All that is required is for the kid to have been here for his or her last three years before college to not only be allowed to go to college here, but to get instate tuition for it.

Not to mention bringing Muslim students in from overseas to attend their colleges...and lining the Southern Border with foreign companies in order to provide cheap labor from across the border. So much for the poor people having to work in the fields...NOT...they’re working in companies.

When people say Perry’s job increases were primarily in minimum or slightly above ranges...they are correct. But he makes it sound like he’s put everybody to work and that simply is not the case.

As for his educational programs....here’s some stats on where Texas stands in the US:

•Texas is #49 in verbal SAT scores in the nation

.Texas is #46 in average math SAT scores.

•Texas is #36 in the nation in high school graduation rates (68%).

•Texas is #33 in the nation in teacher salaries...

( Teacher salaries in Texas are not keeping pace with the national average.... The gains realized from the last state-funded across-the-board pay raise authorized in 1999, which moved the ranking from 33 to as high as 26th in the nation, have disappeared over the last five years.)

•Texas was the only state in the nation to cut average per pupil expenditures in fiscal year 2005, resulting in a ranking of #40 nationally; down from #25 in fiscal year 1999.

•Texas is #6 in the nation in student growth.... The general student population in Texas public schools grew by 11.1% between school years 1999 and 2005, with the largest percent of growth seen ...’among low income and minority children.’

•Between school years 1999 and 2005, the number of ‘central administrators’ employed by Texas public schools grew by 32.5%,..... overall staffing in public schools grew by 15.6%,..... while the number of teachers grew only 13.3%.

Why is it I am always seeing massive manipulation of the voters based on he said she saids?

People can and do think for themselves and should not vot according to someone elses ideas of. Rather aline their candidate with their own standards.

Reagan isn’t running anymore than Bush is so why don’t people let the past be just that. We’re looking for strong conservatives.....and much evidence they are that. Saying they are “like” someone else is not productive when we need to look at their own history.
