I wouldn’t. If we can’t laugh at these people from time to time, we would go crazy with grief watching them ruin our country 24/7.

If your place of employment has shower facilities, you may look forward to a nice hot shower at work if you don't have any hot water at home for a few days :o)

Good thought, thanks!

Ok, thanks  :-(  shoulda known !  lol
Guess it'll be that web link for this one then.

Central PA prolly won't get much outta this except some rain, but I was curious to try to tune it in.

However, NN and all our FReepers are doing such an outstanding job with these live threads that they'll likely surprass the SW guys anyway !

For those in the way of this thing, here's hoping it's another hyped-to-death dud and you'll all be right as rain.
Well, metaphorically anyway . . .

We were just talking about that, remembering that Isabel hit us the worst after 11pm.

Buckets of water work great for flushing the toilet. Do not hit the handle. Just pour enough water in to flush out the bowl. Also we put food from the fridge into the freezer and then we don’t open the lid. Everyday items like milk and cheese go in a cooler. Good luck.

To receive USB the radio must be capable of SSB single sideband or CW code reception. Sometimes called BFO beat frequency oscillator must be on to understand sideband only signals.

What you said. Short of reverse osmotic stenographic translation chronography, I'll take your word for it

;o)

LOL!!! There is a good stretch of the coast that actually really needs the rain - including where I live......rain is one thing a 'cane is another.

My guess is that IT is going over his yard very carefully, securing every branch on every tree with multiple steel cables. The last time one of these hurricane things blew through town, one of the trees came into his house to get out of the rain.

The remaining trees have assured me that they will never enter my dwelling without a formal invitation. They are appalled at the actions of the rogue tree, which they view as a major breach of decorum.

I solve the water storage problem (not for hurricanes, but anything/everything else) is to pump water from the well directly into large water storage tanks (800 to I think 1500 gallons), then use a pressure tank and small pump into the house. One is set up for gravity feed.

Even someone not on a well could purchase a large tank or two and have in the back yard or good sized garage. Lots of water even if no electricity is real peace of mind.

We’re looking into a solar well pump since it’s a bit too deep for a hand pump.

Is it within the realm of possibility that weather forecasters and weather networks are EXAGERATING the severity of Irene ? In otherwords, are they "bumping" UP Irene from a Category 1 to a Category 2 or Category 3 ?

Irene should be taken seriously. People SHOULD prepare.

However with that in mind, I have personally witnessed Irene classified as a Category 4 earlier today by the WeatherNetork.com Irene was then DOWNGRADED to a Category 3 later on this afternoon.

I don't trust the LEFT. I don't trust Obama and his hacks in the MSM including those delivering the "news" about the weather.

My sister did some shopping this afternoon at the local shop-rite.

There was one loaf of bread left and two women were in a fight over who would get it.
