Rick Perry and Israel
Washington Post ^ | Aug 29, 2011 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 08/29/2011 7:54:11 PM PDT by Clairity

I've written before about Texas Gov. Rick Perry's close attachment to Israel. It's not every politician who mentions Israel in his kickoff speech or goes to the attorney general to encourage him to use legal means to disrupt an assault on the Jewish state (in this case, the second flotilla).

Perry has been a consistent critic of President Obama's Israel policy. In May he issued this press release in response to Obama's Arab Spring speech: “President Obama's speech today continues a misguided policy of alienating our traditional allies, in this case Israel, one of our strongest partners in the war on terror. As someone who has visited Israel numerous times, I know that it is impracticable to revert to the 1967 lines. President Obama is asking our Israeli friends to give up too much security and territory as a prelude to a renewed peace process.”

And what is McCain’s position regarding Israel and the Palestinians? It’s one thing to be against Iran, for it threatens Europe and India as well as Israel.

But the Palestinian issue is just as much of an existential threat to Israel... without affecting any other state. And that’s where one’s true beliefs can be read the most effectively.

Yes, Governor Perry supports Israel and has received several awards as a friend of that nation. I too hope that the Jewish voters will realize that Obama is not their friend.

Funny, you should say that...

Is Rick Perry A Secret Islamists?

http://www.tnr.com/blog/jonathan-chait/94276/rick-perry-secret-islamist

I think the anti-Perry element, most of whom are Obama supporters, are so desperate that they can’t find any real dirt about Perry, so they make up the most outrageous things, but I think it will backfire on them badly.

Well, McCain supporting Israel does not make Perry a RINO...that’s the little problem with your scenario.

By looking at his older posts. Seems so.

Really? And which posts would those be?

Would they be this?

Ron Paul is a kook and he sounds like one every time he speaks. I don’t know if there was a clear winner but it surely wasn’t him

Or this...

Ron Paul is a kook who will never get as much as 2% of the vote proving these polls are a joke.

Or maybe this...

Ron Paul’s chances of being President are slimmer than the chances that Elvis Presley becomes President. And he’s dead.
They know that, but getting them to admit it is like getting Anthony Weiner to admit he twittered a perverted photo of himself. They can post these silly threads but they can never change the fact that Ron Paul will never be president of these United States.

And you may want to check my tagline in this thread.

Care to share those "older posts" with us? I'd like to see what you think I have ever posted that is in any way not thoroughly critical of Ron Paul. Please share!

Given your post whining about him not getting enough press time......yes.

Firstly, I wasn't 'whining'. And had you bothered to read that thread you would have seen I said this...

I have never used drugs but I know people who do including some family members. I believe many and possibly all of them would enthusiastically campaign for Ron Paul should they sober up long enough to realize he was for legalizing their drug of choice.

I also like posting this that I helped create...

So no, I am not a Ron Paul supporter. I don't support loons or RINOs thus my opposition to Ron Paul and Mitt Perry.

To: Clairity; All

God promised, “I will bless those who bless you”. Gen 12

The “you” God was talking about was Israel.

Part of the reason we’re in such hot water is because Obama does not and will not support Israel.

A President who supports Israel - will cause blessings to come upon America.

If you don’t think so, check out each of our Presidents since Israel became a state in 948, and see how that President’s attitude about Israel had a positive or negative affect upon America. It’s stunning!!

How about these:
“I have never used drugs but I know people who do including some family members. I believe many and possibly all of them would enthusiastically campaign for Ron Paul should they sober up long enough to realize he was for legalizing their drug of choice.”

It’s one thing to be a friend to Israel, but quite another to be hostile as is Obama.

I never said it did. But Perry apologists think Mitt Perry's support of Israel is one of the things the 'prove' he is a conservative. Let's compare, shall we?

Perry apologists say Mitt Perry is Pro Life. So is John McCain.

Perry apologists say Mitt Perry wants to repeal ObamaCare. So does John McCain.

Perry apologists say Mitt Perry is pro-Second Amendment. So is John McCain.

Perry apologists say Mitt Perry is Pro Israel. So is John McCain.

Ricardo Perry is pro ILLEGAL alien. So is Juan McCain.

Perry apologists say Mitt Perry is a conservative, but only John McCain is a RINO. I say both are.

Hmmmmm.....

If you are not a Ron Paul supporter you have me and others fooled but I still cannot comprehend why you would call Paul harmless. In his position, he is anything but. Have a good night.

I deem him harmless because he will not get the nomination , he's not running for reelection and will be gone son. Were he to stick around, maybe not.

And I've fooled no one; I've never even attempted to. Ron Paul is a raving lunatic. I've disliked him since his criticisms of Reagan. He's more loony now than then. But he is an old man who, after this election cycle will be a forgotten old man, thus my comments.

And good night to you too, lahargis.

Democrat Rick Perry supported a $5.7 billion tax hike in 1987, which was opposed by most Republican lawmakers and "triggered the largest tax increase ever passed in modern Texas. This is the year before he was state chair for Al Gore for President in 1988.
