Why not an outsider like Allan West with Palin, Perry or Bachman on the ticket ?

Is Perry straight and relevant about islam or another appeaser like Obama and....Bush ?

If he is an appeaser i would prefer a nice and consistant guy like Allan West and S.Palin

It’s time to put an American in the White House and the last time I checked Kenya wasn’t one of the “57 states” and Texas still is.

Best answer!

Rick Perry has never lost an election and I don’t think he will start now. A number of CA businesses came to TX to visit Perry, and once they saw the business climate then they moved. A number of congressional people from CA also came to visit and determine the attraction of TX. I doubt they learned anything, because CA never saw a tax they didn’t like. Plus TX is a right to work state.

I think you're right. No matter what is thrown at him. From either side.

I could be wrong, but if Cain is losing by 7 points, but a “generic” Republican is winning by 8, it stands to reason that if nominated, Cain would be this republican...thus gaining the 8 points to pull to one over Obama. Does this make sense?

No

The reason the generic Republican does best is that people are so divided they cannot agree on a single candidate to replace Obama. The misery index vs. the actual Republican candidate will determine the election. A depressed Democrat turnout can make it decisive. The Republican candidate needs to have enough credentials to be credible, as well as enough political talent to motivate the disparate streams of the traditional Republican voters and nonpartisan enough to win the Independents (who generally hate Republicans for one reason or another).

We are talking about numbers now. If the GOP votes unite, then yes, Cain will be ahead. Who knows what will happen in the next 15 months, but I was commenting on this poll.

I like Perry and hope it does too but you know what this means. The MSM is going to go into "panic" mode just like they did when they saw how popular Palin was and are going to just start pounding Perry over and over and over for the next year. We saw with the MSM's treatment of the Tea Party that it doesn't matter whether the MSM lies or not, the charges stick and the Tea Party's reputation has been damaged as "extreme" and "racist." Same with Sarah Palin--90%+ of the criticism of her is unfair but the MSM has damaged her reputation and blunted her popularity. Now they will try to do it to Perry.

As hard as it is to believe the MSM are holding back on nearly every Republican candidate right now. The reason is they have, or think they have, career killers that they are holding on to until the election gets closer.

But who they DO come after, even as a non-candidate, is Sarah Palin. They don't hold back on her at all. Why? Because they have nothing on her. No corruption. No scandal. No gotchas.

“My wife believes that the country started going downhill when women started voting. I disagree a bit - Woodrow Wilson was elected before the 19th Amendment, but she does have a point.”

Ann Coulter agrees with your wife. She points out that without the 19th Amendment NONE of the poor Democratic presidents with which we have been afflicted would have been elected. Not Kennedy, Carter, Clinton, nor Obama could have been elected without the women’s vote.
