The Undefeated does a good job of showing how the politicized state legislature that she’d previously got to go along with her agenda seized up and wasn’t going to cooperate with her in the least after 2008. Thus it was better for the state for her to hand the reins over to her simpatico lt. guv 18 months early, despite the fact that it gave her a dent in her political resume.
As to her becoming wealthy ‘through politics’, she came by that the honest way in the free market, rather than by corruptly selling out to big donors looking for government advantage and payback. Big, big, big difference.
Also, she could have have made big money with her book and speeches while finishing out her term, then got the big TV contracts. It wasn’t the resigning that allowed her to make money.
I heard the very same thing from Santorum on Friday.
The problem I have with the timing issue is that every time I second guess either Sarah Palin or Rush Limbaugh I come home all bruised up and sorry I didn’t pay closer attention.
Excellent post and I am right there with you.
mornin....
I wasn’t insisting that this idea was unique to her, although I hadn’t known about Santorum. BTW, the first four points in Palin’s list may as well have been copied from Rick Perry, possibly others.
In addition, if a number of corporations are paying almost no taxes now (eg, GE, et al), why aren’t they hiring people here? Why are they still offshoring?
As yet, no one is talking about a thorough overhaul of our foreign trade policies. The 25-year old regime known as “free trade” (”rigged trade” would be a better name for it) is most responsible for killing job creation in the US. Maybe it made sense to do business with the Chinese once, but that set of policies has become the biggest “crony-capitalist “ racket out there, a veritable suicide pact. And none of the front-runners will talk about it explicitly. I doubt I’ll hear answers to any of these questions on here, since this site has become a bedlam of partisan screaming.
I so Amen your comments.
Hey buddy how RU! Thinkin’ about taking the day off. Two in a row would be spectacular for me.

Probably not. We are NOT about to give up our $1000 fifty two inch TeeVee's nor our $300 twenty four inchers. We are addicted to cheap goods. We can become mildly aroused over rising food prices - which ARE directly pegged to market forces. But the fact that the cheap manufactured goods that we love to buy are produced in a manipulated market from a stacked deck is third rail stuff. Even bringing up gets one a KOOK label.
Best you'll hear is platitudes. We should be accustomed to that, though.
No changes here 83/93 since June. Mid October we get a cool front.
it was so hot here last week rocks melted.....lol
