Because this is a special election, there is no day-long media coverage with exit polls that would be used to “project” a winner once the polls closed. Most media outlets will probably not report the winner until the official results are posted.

They beat the prediction by a day, they’re already claiming the GOP jammed their phone lines.

I may be wrong about this, but I believe that in some states, the elections for the House of Representatives in the early days of the U.S. were all done for the entire state and there were no “districts” to speak of. If a state had 10 House districts, they had ten candidates running for the House on a statewide basis.

First results - go and look yourself.

Turning winning, with 48 v. 34 votes.

Not statistically significant, but at least they’re starting to release the votes.

Shucks, in a few minutes we’ll have the election results from Nevada-2 CD. New York Election officials are shameful and incompetent at best. I guess the Democrat, anti-Americans are looking for any way to cheat their way to victory. It’s expected, unlike the Democrat/Obama job or GDP numbers, which are always unexpected!!!

I just read the post (below) on a local election web page:

REPUBLICAN VOTERS TODAY ARE VOTING BOTH IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY AND IN THE SPECIAL ELECTION.

THERE IS A BALLOT TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARY AND A BALLOT TO VOTE IN THE SPECIAL ELECTION. IF A VOTER GOES TO THEIR ED TABLE THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN 2 BALLOTS AND SIGN 2 BOOKS IF THEY ARE SHOWN TO BE REGISTERED REPUBLICANS.

AT THE 25TH AD POLLING SITE, POLL WORKERS AT THE TABLES ONLY HAVE DEMOCRAT BALLOTS, AND ARE NOT ASKING VOTERS IF THEY ARE A REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT..THEY ARE ASSUMING THEY ARE ALL DEMOCRATS AND GIVING THEM A DEMOCRAT BALLOT AND DEMOCRAT VOTING SHEET.

THERE IS INDEED A TABLE WITH REPUBLICAN BALLOTS ON THEM AND A BOOK OF REPUBLICAN VOTERS.. BUT IT IS KEPT WAY TO THE CORNER OF THE GYM AND NO ONE IS SENDING ANYONE TO THE TABLE BECAUSE NO ONE IS BEING ASKED THEIR PARTY.

BY 2:30PM WHEN I VOTED, I WAS GIVEN A DEM BALLOT UNTIL I PROTESTED-ALTHOUGH IT DOESNT ‘SAY’ DEMOCRAT BALLOT’ IT IS BECAUSE IT ONLY ALLOWS YOU TO VOTE FOR 1 CANDIDATE, NOT IN THE PRIMARY . THE POLL WORKER WAS VERY AGITATED WHEN I ASKED FOR MY REPUBLICAN BALLOT AND SAID SHE ASSUMED EVERYONE WAS A DEMOCRAT.;

I will drink a beer for those 48 brave souls in Queens. In fact, I will attempt to drink a beer for every precinct that Turner wins tonight.

Bob Turner’s campaign filed for - and received - a court order to impound all absentee ballots, citing “gross incompetence” by the Board of Elections.

Turner’s lawyers charged that absentee ballots were sent to dead people and voters who didn't ask for them. The campaign claimed at least five dead people were issued ballots.

Good work. Put a floodlight on the fraud.
