I’m sure God hears us, but we have a lot more humbling and lot more turning away from evil ways to do.

With all due respect, this is not good hermeneutics. This passage is addressed to Israel, the nation that was God’s. It contains no promise to any country, irrespective of their view or behavior.

You can bet if we turn our back on Israel, God's judgement will be harsh.

Rom 1:18-32 shows what the wrath of God on a nation looks like.

It’s obvious we’re still under that wrath, but perhaps we’re seeing some easing up as we repent and humble ourselves.

On the other-hand... “WE” may have NOW a government that matches the people..

Meaning this corrupt government matches the corrupt people..
AND things are EXACTLY the way they are supposed to be..

There seems to no outrage for stealing from Paul to PAY Peter..
SSA is indeed a Ponzi scheme that “the people” want to continue..

Especially older people that know better or should know better... DON’T or WON’T..
Are YOU a socialist?.......... YES YOU!...

I don’t know. I think God has been going easy on us.
I just hope we really and sincerely do humble ourselves, turn away from our evil ways, and call on His Name.

Indeed! Farther along in the same chapter of Deuteronomy: “But if ye turn away, and forsake my statutes and my commandments, which I have set before you, and shall go and serve other gods, and worship them;
[20] Then will I pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have sanctified for my name, will I cast out of my sight, and will make it to be a proverb and a byword among all nations.
[21] And this house, which is high, shall be an astonishment to every one that passeth by it; so that he shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and unto this house?
[22] And it shall be answered, Because they forsook the LORD God of their fathers”

Rom 1:18-32 could have been written about America today, to a ‘T’.

Read it and tell me what ISN’T happening in our society today.

He has saved us as a nation since we were born. But this massive turning away has brought judgment upon us. If we let God take the blinders off,we can see it everyday.

What He said. There is no doubt that God has had a major hand in the history of our nation. Why do you think we as a people are some times called “ The New Israel”..If we as a nation would humble ourselves and turn to God as our Ancestors did, we would be an entirely different Nation,

"You can bet if we turn our back on Israel, God's judgement will be harsh."

The Scriptures support your claim, but from a passage wherein such cautions are addressed to all other countries. Not the same thing as claiming if we "turn" to God He will heal our land. Just encouraging careful use of the text. There are no blanket promises to other countries.

The link is to a great online Bible site. You can search on keywords, text snippets, or chapter and verse, and it will find what you are looking for.

A truly great resource.

“Sure it is. It’s part of one of the 10 nations.”

No it is not. Learn how to read.

“It’ll get so bad that you’ll probably be dead before it actually happens.”

The Lord will not allow His people to go thru the Tribulation. I plan to be alive in the Rapture.

We are not allowed to claim promises specific to someone else as if they arte for us.

First, notice who is being addressed. God is speaking directly to Solomon, though Israel as a nation is clearly in view. In fact, God is giving Solomon a point-by-point response regarding his prayer for Israel in 2 Chronicles 6. Therefore, the promise of blessing and the warning regarding disobedience was given to Israel, not America or Christians living in America.

Second, what is “this place” that God has chosen in verse 12? Clearly it refers to the temple Solomon built in Jerusalem, not America.

Third, who is the group of “my people” that God is referring to in verse 14? It is certainly not Christians under the new covenant. That is an anachronistic reading which would be completely foreign to the original author and audience. Clearly this is referring to the Israelite nation. The nation of Israel was God’s chosen people in the Old Testament, not America or Christians living in America.

Fourth, what “land” is God promising to heal in verse 14? Again, clearly this is referring to the promised land of Israel, not America.

Fifth, what exactly is meant by “heal their land” in verse 14? Many assume this refers to some sort of spiritual healing, a spiritual revival of sorts. This is the way it is often applied today. But notice what verse 13 states, a verse that is frequently skipped over to get to verse 14:

There is a principle found in the verse which applies to all. My people = Jews; my people = Christian remnant
