Video: Perry’s cringe-worthiest debate moment
Michelle Malkin ^ | 9/23/2011 | Michelle Malkin

I mentioned Rick Perry’s DREAM Act debate blunder in my round-up post.

It gets second place.

The cringe-worthiest moment, by a hair, was when Perry botched what should have been his most potent attack on Mitt Romney’s chronic flip-flopping. As I noted on Twitter when it happened, any random high schooler at the CPAC conference in Washington could have done better than this.

If this is how Perry’s going to take Obama on in debates, we’re in trouble. Someone inject him with some Red Bull and a dash of Herman Cain’s personality.
**snip**

Perry said he’s in favor of making English the official language of the U.S. Perhaps he should concentrate on mastering it before the next debate

We don’t yet have a nominee.

I'll vote write in. Both Perry and Romney are Obama lite. The slow road to hell or the fast one, all the same.

I guess you think that Mark Levin is an idiot too, since he said the same exact thing.

What makes you think Romney will repeal Obamacare? He INVENTED Obamacare when he was governor of Massachusetts.

Needs a repeat.

To those who explain away Perry's dismal debate performance b/c he has an ailing back:

If he is not physically able to carry out the duties of the office, he should take his walker and go home.

If you're looking for rational posters who want to discuss factual issues, this isn't the site. There is a thread titled "Rick Perry Lied About Cancer Victim", and in the thread it is repeatedly pointed out that he didn't lie about meeting the woman who died from cervical cancer. I even pinged the Admins about it, and instead of changing the thread title, I was lectured about how Perry lied. I then replied to the Admin asking him to point out the lie that Perry told. I've yet to hear back, but the false thread title still holds.

FR seems to be an anti-Perry site these day, and I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle, which is going to lead to pro-choice Romney as the nominee. When the Admins allow blatant falsehoods to be posted about Rick Perry, and do nothing about it except lie themselves, it's obvious.

1% of the population watches debates.

80% of the population will see the ads Perry runs that completely destroy Romney. All you Romney lovers are going to be crying when those hit the airwaves.

Obama isn’t going to repeal ObamaCare. That is the one thing I am certain of if he wins re-elections, and selfish conservatives will be as much to blame as the idiots who vote for Barry.

*** So how did that candidacy-killer thingy----"you don't have a heart"-----escape from Perry's mealy mouth? ***

I *suspect* it may have been due to him still using Pain Killers for his recent back surgery. That would explain his wacky and sloooooooow responses.

Disclosure: I didn't watch the debate.
There was a good series on the National Geo Channel about Space Aliens causing all our past Plagues .

plus, I kinda knew how he'd do - as in -- really suck.

I completely disagree, Perry could refuse to do anymore debates and still win this thing over Romney walking away. And make no mistake this is between Perry and Romney, there is no other choice.

I hate these kinds of debates

Put them in a room with a microphone and toss them a topic, and let them argue it out

We will see who comes out on top

You’re crossing the line. And have done so several times. You may want to take a break for emotional reasons. You really need to calm down.

quote “He’s FAR more articulate than I. His speeches.... WOW. He just hasn’t done well in the debates yet.”

BINGO!

sums up my views on Perry perfectly. Perry is freaking amazing in just about any other venue, but being mortal does have areas he is weak in, one of those being debates apparently.

Some people here seem to think a conservative is “anything better than the worst.”

If Obama wins, maybe, just maybe, enough people get mad enough to bust heads and shift into CW2.

Maybe we need ashes to rise from.

We are too far down the road to make further compromises. It’s like the economic mess. Borrowing when broke is bad. Short-term fixing days are over. Winging it doesn’t work during free fall.

Voting for RINOs is like printing more money. Eventually you crash.
