So, with the Congress and the presidency also capable of screwing over those same groups, is there ANY office your sensibilities could vote for, outside of dog catcher?

I’d be happy to see either Bachmann or Cain do well; they are both conservative and I like them both. ANYONE but a liberal be they named Rick Romney or Mitt Perry.

I have always thought a Palin/Cain ticket was the “Ticket”. Great job Cain!

Perry can't win. He should just endorse Cain now.

If he doesn't he is a closet racist and heartless.

Cheers!

He worked for The Federal Reserve which is worse than working at Goldman Sachs.

Its the drafting thing I've spoken of before. Its a long race and the conservatives need to run together.

The ballot must have been too confusing. This IS Florida, you know.

Straw Polls are not very accurate

It depends on the straw poll. Ronald Reagan won the Florida straw poll in 1979, George H.W. Bush in 1987 and Kansas Sen. Bob Dole in 1995.

All right! As a Sarah Palin supporter I realize that she may choose not to run, after all, so I've been seeking a 'Plan B' candidate to vote for and support. Like most conservatives, I couldn't stomach the phony Mitt Romney and Rick Perry wasn't cutting it, either. I like Michele Bachmann but she seems to be stumbling. Herman Cain was a possibility but only if Bachmann totally imploded, which I feared was likely. Now, Mr. Cain has finally broken out of the pack and I can look to him as my 'Plan B' candidate if Palin declines to run. Good man with a good message.

I hope he can capitalize on this and push the media-driven Romney-Perry 'front runners' off the stage. He won't be taken seriously by the leftmedia and the GOP elites will sneer at his lack of political 'experience' but conservatives now have a viable candidate they can support. For me, I'll be happy to see the Romney/Perry duo pushed to the side because neither one is a conservative. Especially Mitt. This is a great day, even for those of us that may be hoping for Sarah Palin to enter the Republican primary race. Herman Cain is too good to dismiss and I hope he can keep his momentum going.

LAUGH BREAK Perry Gambles on Florida Straw Poll?
Sept 24, 2011 • By MICHAEL WARREN, Weekly Standard

ABC News reports that Rick Perry is emphasizing the importance of today's Florida GOP P5 straw poll in Orlando, Florida, where he made his case in person this morning: “There are number of folks and some campaigns who have spurned this tradition of the Florida straw poll,” Perry told an estimated crowd of 2,000 at a delegate breakfast hosted by his campaign. “I think that’s a big mistake. I think the Florida straw poll is very important.”

Perry shared with the delegates his personal experience from 2000, as the then lieutenant governor awaited the Florida results from the presidential election to determine his next step in Texas.

“There was a little notoriety out here about a thing called a hanging chad,” Perry said. “I just wanted to share with you what was about a month and a half – my hopes of being the governor of Texas were kind of in the balance during that same period of time and here we are eleven years later, and I’ve got my hopes on Florida again.”

Perry has been making this pitch in Orlando since Thursday, when he spoke to members of the Faith and Freedom Coalition and stressed the importance the straw poll.

"I want you to know, I did not plan, when the debate’s over with, I’m not going back to Texas," Perry said, hours before the debate. "I’m staying in Florida. From here, were going to be competing all across this state. This P5 straw poll has served a great purpose over the course of the years. I think it’s really important for the candidates to understand, P5 matters. Ronald Reagan understood P5 mattered in 1979."

This shows that conservatives outnumber rinos. I like Cain, bit he does not at least yet have the organization, big money, and he had no past history of holding a political office. There is a thirst go a real conservative, I think that this could be an indicator or how Palin would do.

Too funny - people on FR trying to say this is meaningless. It’s only meaningless when it’s not their candidate winning!

ALL I have heard for the past month is how Herman can’t touch Perry in the polls. Now they say the polls don’t count. LOL! It doesn’t work that way.

Plus he had the biggest fundraising in the last 48 hours than in the whole campaign. Plus he is on top of Gallup positive intensity again. That is 17 of the last 18 weeks now!

999 is 666 upside down.

So if Cain is black, and he's pushing the '999', who is his opposite number who is 666?

Cheers!

Imagine even a Cain/Rubio, Cain/Martinez Cain/Ryan Cain/Christie ticket. The WH election strategy would die on its ass.
