Many patriots are concerned about the safety and politics of leaving behind 3000 soldiers in Iraq. Gathering of Eagles, the primary sponsor of this signature drive, has created a web site to sign a petition for answers.
Our troops need our support. One of my sayings is, They protect our home front, we need to protect their political back side.
The petition will be given to Henry D’Andrea of the Washington Times. He will be doing a follow up to his Original Article on Obama's mis-guided Iraqi policy. He will have our signatures to bolster the argument against leaving 3000 troops in harms way

The Letter on "The 3000":
"AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA
We, the undersigned, stand in stark and unified opposition to your proposed plan to leave 3000 combat troops behind in Iraq following the scheduled withdrawal of American troops from that country on December 31, 2011.
We are all aware that, in the run-up to the scheduled withdrawal date of December 31, there has been an increasing debate about both the advisability of actually leaving Iraq and the dangers that our troops may well face as they embark upon a withdrawal. Many have noted that Iraq is still an active war zone, with many internal rivalries. The possibility of an all-out civil war looms large, and it has been argued that all of the gains, hard won by our brave soldiers, will evaporate into an abyss of violence and bloodshed, much the same as occurred in Vietnam in 1975. Many have also noted the road from Baghdad, which our troops will be traversing during their exit from Iraq, is fraught with danger, seemingly indicating that Iraq is still a war zone and that our troops are still at risk in that country.
A more disturbing development, and to the point of this current letter, is your recent proposal to leave 3000 combat troops behind in Iraq, following the withdrawal of the main combat forces. It is our understanding that the exact rationale for leaving those troops behind has not yet been clearly formulated, nor has the actual decision to leave them been finalized.
On the very face of it, your proposal to leave the 3000 behind appears to be reckless and disregarding of the safety of those brave American troops who have already given so much for their country during this war. In fact, it has been noted that your proposal is in direct opposition to the advice of your own military commanders, who have warned against leaving such a reduced number of troops in Iraq. Again, we are reminded of the disastrous events that unfolded in Vietnam when politicians overrode military advice.
Sir, you owe our troops and our country a full and open explanation of both the rationale for your proposal and the measures that will be taken to insure the security of those who are left behind. We will not stand quietly by when it appears that the security of our troops is being so greatly compromised. We are continuing to monitor this situation, and we looking forward to further clarification from your administration.

nobama is scared sh1tless he’s gonna lose next year. He’s pulling out all the stops to try an reclaim his base. Even if that means troops get killed due to his decision.

our troops need to know that we are standing for them on this issue. if obama thinks that he can get away with this he will certainly try to do just that. if we raise enough people’s awareness about this issue, obama will not be able to fly under the radar.

There are actually TWO words that describe this action by Obama.
The first word, “Taqquiya” means to lie to further Islam. A stark contrast to the 9th Commandment.
The second word “Fitna” is malicious mischief performed to further Islam.

First, other than venting our feelings, what is the purpose of this petition? What are you petitioning for? The petition at the link seems very unspecific about what action you are requesting.
Second, have you considered posting this also on The White House Petitions website? The We The People" feature there? Track it here and on the other petition site, so you know when you actually hit the 5000 signature level there, or catch them playing politics with that taxpayer funded site.
I thought Item 2 is pretty specific.
"The sole purpose of this website is twofold;
1. to raise public awareness about this issue ( News and Update page)
2. to petition President Obama to make a full and open disclosure about his rationale for leaving the 3000 troops behind, and to explain what security measures will be taken to insure their safety
I will see if the originators of the web site and letter.

After reading your reply, and then thinking about it while doing some other chores, then coming back and reading your reply and the petition again, I'm even more concerned about this.

I won't be signing this as it is written now.
First, it's not clear, does this group want a stronger presence left? Or do they want all troops returned home? If it's one of those two things, why not ask for it?
Second, I don't want anyone who signs the petition to receive a full explanation of “what security measures will be taken to insure their (our troops) safety.” I certainly don't want specific details about that topic made public, or even disclosed to anyone with no "need to know."
This is the enemie's dream come true. Have the details of our defenses published on the Internet or in the New York Times or other published media.
If you want all troops returned home, none left in Afghanistan, then petition for a complete withdrawal.
If you want a stronger force left, so that our forces can properly defend themselves, petition for that.
The way it is written now, this petition is weak and nonsensical. It's not well thought out at all, and it could do more harm than good.
