Ed Rollins: ‘It’s never too late for Gov. Palin’ to jump into 2012 race
The Hill ^ | 09/26/ | Alicia Cohen

Posted on 09/26/2011 11:16:41 AM PDT by winoneforthegipper

Republican strategist Ed Rollins on Monday downplayed the latest surge in rumors that New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will jump into the race for the Republican presidential nomination, and instead argued in favor of another possible candidate.

Christie “ought to stay running New Jersey,” Rollins said on Fox News’ “Kilmeade and Friends” radio show.

“If I were advising him, I would tell him not to think about [a presidential bid],” Rollins said. “I can’t imagine Gov. Christie spending the next four or five months in the winters of Iowa, traipsing to the places he’s got to go in order to be a viable candidate.”

Rollins, who was Rep. Michele Bachmann's (R-Minn.) campaign manager until early this month, said the only rumored presidential candidate he believes still viable is former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

“It’s never too late for Gov. Palin,” Rollins said. “She plays by different rules.”

Wish I may, wish I might.....

I don't know if you're posting while drunk, or if you're just a juvenile, but that post was utterly incomprehensible.

About all I can figure, is that you can't stand Sarah Palin, and think that it's fun to post snarky silliness to her supporters. What a complete waste of time and electrons.

Actually, I would love for Palin to run, I would support her to the max. Perry is my second option, because I don’t see much difference between them, but he’s in, she ain’t.

Its the attack mode some of her supporters (at least you say you support Palin) here on FR that I can’t stand. I find it very disheartening to see so many smear posters hit other candidfates with half truths and distortions under Palin’s banner. It gives a very nice lady a bad image.

You post good stuff about Palin and I’ll be right there with you. You post the smears on Perry and I’ll go after you ever time. Count on it.

Now quit crying and address:
Oh well, when its your ox in the ditch, its “don’t read things into people’s posts”, is it? The old “do as I say, not as I do” edict.

If that was not the point, then what was the point of the thread to start with?????

Actually, I would love for Palin to run, I would support her to the max.

Then why are you posting all of the petty snark about her? Makes no sense to me.

Perry is my second option, because I don’t see much difference between them

Friend, you really ought to study those two people a lot more closely. They may have both sat as Governors of two large western states, but that's where the similarities end.

Perry is a go-along-get-along, centrist Moderate, who's perpetually got his finger in the wind to see which way he should spin his message. He's a politician's politician, and the establishment's 'outsider'.

Palin, on the other hand, is a staunch conservative, and something of an originalist patriot reformer, who is courageous enough to state her views unequivocally, no matter the risk of political fallout. She's got a moral compass that unerringly leads her in the right direction, despite which way the wind is blowing.

Perry's already falling, but when Palin joins the race, he may as well hang it up. He'll be done, because she's the real thing, and the voters know it.

Now quit crying and address...

Quit crying? My, my, my.... Just when I thought you were going to engage me like an adult, you go and insult me like that. And you have the nerve to complain about how Palin supporters talk to you. Thanks, pal.

Technically, it may be not be too late for Palin “to jump into 2012 race” but in the hearts of many Americans, who were patiently waiting for her, it is.

Speak for yourself.

I'm still waiting for a candidate who isn't a total disaster on illegal immigration, and who understands the Constitution and Second Amendment.

I'll wait as long as it take.

I am putting it out there because Mr. Cain will be targeted as intolerant, a nutty Christian, a hater, you name it. Remember, only Liberal Blacks get a pass, Conservative Blacks never do.

We get pissed at Obama when he targets the Rich, Conservatives, Republicans, Taxpayers, so what makes you think that Liberals won't look at Mr. Cain in the same light with their deluded logic?

I know they have no problem with The One being what he is, a petty narcissist with a Napoleon complex, but they revel in Projection and will turn Mr. Cain's comment into a Federal Case, if you catch my drift.

This Election will be the dirtiest spectacle you and I will ever see. The idiots throwing Oreos at Michael Steele back in 2008 were only warming up.

I listened to those interviews, and in both cases, she was being pressured to give an answer. In the first interview, she didn't even state the time frame herself - the interviewer did, and she sort of agreed with them, that that would be a good time to announce.

If she disagreed, then she should have said so. Since she agreed, then that is what she believes.

Yeah I was hoping that’s what you were doing. From the rest of your post it didn’t fit. I was proud of him for making the statement of no Muslim ie Sharia and I think we need to make sure he knows, and others know, that he has backing on that.

hmmm...I just read an article, as I couldn’t find anything on a Nevada official website, but it said that Iowa and Nevada were the same, as caucus states they don’t have any official deadline. The only hard deadline I have see so far are the ones already mentioned, South Carolina, etc. Still looks to me like the end of the month, that is, the end of October......

Here, I just found this NYT article. It is actually fairly balanced, and gives an overview of what a Presidential campaign entails:

http://thecaucus.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/09/27/palin-on-the-verge-of-decision-about-presidential-run/?smid=tw-thecaucus&seid=auto

The Oct. 15 caucus deadline that you noted, correctly, is Utah.

But the author also points out, correctly, that she could punt on that one with no harm. The ones that matter are SC and FL and they are at the end of October....

She said her book, "Going Rogue", that she'll never do that. She'll run as a Republican.

Yes, I know, I was just ticking off the bullet point for completeness' sake. While I think it's unlikely I don't think there's absolute zero possibility of this eventuality. It depends on just exactly how badly Republicans in Washington and on the Presidential campaign trail can further screw up . . .
