How do you guarantee the plan doesn’t grow above 9%?

How do you guarantee the current Congress doesn't simply raise income taxes rates?

This attack line about 9-9-9 is irrational.

Every critic they make of 9-9-9 applies even more so to the current system. It would actually be much harder in 9-9-9 to raise rates since everyone pays. Everyone would know their tax rates were going up.

Right now it is easy for the Congress to hid behind dishonest "tax hikes on business" or "making the rich pay their fair share" retoric.

9-9-9 eliminates that

Well, as bad as scams like Solyndra are, this mess with US taxpayer dollars and Fed money going to the EU dwarfs it. In terms of dollars and also what the policy ramifactions mean for American citizens. Solyndra is a tempest in a teacup compared to what’s going on with the EU.

NOBODY give a crap what Juan says or thinks or does..

Agreed. For that matter all the Sunday shows are amusing but pretty worthless.

For 70 years we have heard the same line. "We must curb spending before we do anything about taxes". That has always failed. So about this time we put the horse in front of the cart for once?

Reform the tax system. It is this knee jerk failure to every consider anything but clinging to the existing corrupt failed tax code that is the biggest stummbling block to reform.

The single most effective tool Congress has is the tax code. They write in countless gimmes to business and special interest in exchange for big campaign donations.

Simplefy and flatten, the tax code and you remove the single biggest source of corruption in our political system.

The Federal Tax code.

Brietbart—the talented reconnaissance in force conservative journalist—knows LA pretty well and exposed the incompetent Air America self appointed Leftist Diva Jeaneane Garofalo as a Hollywood pity lay (Breitbart used the profane "F" word).

To many Juan is still a sympathetic figure for getting fired by the now "evil" NPR. To us, he's still a crash dummie that provides much humor week after week.

The 9-9-9 plan is a stroke of brilliance but is subject to the whims of future congresses that could up the ante

What stops Congress from doing that with the current Tax code? It actually gets harder to hike taxes under 9-9-9 since you cannot hid the tax hikes. Everyone pays so everyone knows any tax hike effects them.

It also eliminates Congress's basic source of corruption. The ability to tinker with the Federal tax codes to punish political enemies and reward political friends.

Ha!

I’ve been sayin’ for years now!

Eventually, everyone comes to that realization....

And yes, McCain has had more visits than any other guest. I’ve seriously lost count, but it may be over 1,000 since I started doing this thread circa 1999 or abouts.

It’s all because he will say things that they want to hear. Liberal things.

Your argument of how hard it would be to raise the 9-9-9 plan makes great sense until you factor in the liberal mindset. They would have all those earning less than 50k,then 75k then 100k exempt form some of the 9's and the poor(their political assets) exempt all together.

The left sees voter groups, power. Not what is good for the country. They seldom look beyond the next election.

It's up to us, the adults in the country to take the long view and we cant get it passed until we control all three branches.

Why does Wallace have to ask businessmen whether Obama’s policies are helping? Just look at the economic numbers, Wallace.

Probably because he knows he has no credibility if he was to simply state it.

Another wonderful post, Bray, and thanks for sharing again, AB!

“The person who does it will be attacked from all sides starting with our lying media so character and fortitude are going to be tested like never before in their lives.”

One of the best ways to fight the media lies (spread in tv commercials by so many BHO-loving groups such as AARP) is to spend as many campaign, tea party, etc., dollars on rebuttal commercials that simply tell the TRUTH to the public - one primary example is to tell the older folks that we do NOT intend to take away their current benefits and, to the younger ones as well as their parents and grandparents, that we are committed to reforming health care, Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security to assure their SURVIVAL, otherwise these will all DIE if continued under the current status quo, bankrupt system.

Republicans and all who oppose BHO have GOT to start blasting the airways to set the record straight on these lies fed to our seniors in particular.

You mean that Bernanke giving the UK two trillion and refusing to even tell us he did it is a bigger scandal than zero giving up 4.7 billion last week to even more Solyndras?

How dare you question the regime!

True. But to do that, we would have to repeal the 16th Amendment. That is a mighty steep hill to climb. It's not impossible, but it is unlikely. It would require at least two more overwhelming wave elections to get the votes in the House and Senate.
