New York (CNN) -- As the Occupy Wall Street protesters rally for a third week, social media sites such as Twitter seem to be spurring similar protests in other cities.

A Twitter account called Occupy Boston mentions a citywide college walkout there Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the Massachusetts Nurses Association says hundreds of the city's nurses will rally with the Occupy Boston protesters on Wednesday. The association says the protest will be part of the opening day activities for a national nursing convention in Boston.

I knew from day 1 this was all about the unions. What I haven’t figured-out is why the unions are being a useful tool and for whom? Government union employees are dispicable! I hope Clinton’s offices are stuffed with non-performing staff with UNION protection!

Do any of these people really think that they will influence “middle America” or the “silent majority”, as Nixon described it?

Nope. When things get nuts in this country our gut instinct is to turn right. Up to now Middle America has been laughing at the hippies. But these union thugs mean business. This will get violent, which should send most of the electorate running, screaming to the right.

We know where the nurses priorities are now.
Not the patients.

Do these people even know what they are protesting? I don’t. I think they’re all idiots.

They are protesting the lack of a Marxist dictatorship in America.

they are idiots you're right. They're protesting wall street the same wall street which gave their parents 401k's investments etc They're protesting I think a system which gave mom and dad money to put them through school, which gives jobs etc. If they're protesting wall street and their money in politics then they need to know wall street gives more money to the left than the right. They are being funded by a billionaire, organized by a multi millionaire and supported by millionaires from Hollywood So it goes to show they have no idea what on earth they're doing and it has shown what lazy parenting has done and then some say social issues are not important.

I’ve an idea. Close the market for a week just to see what happens when these people get what they want. You know, . . . a when the dog catches the car sort of thing. Plus there would be no Capitol Gains Tax for a week (Wesley Mooch would be screaming). Then move the whole exchange to Midland or Odessa.

Well, there's no natural reds in that picture, but there are plenty of soft spots!

LOL free pizza, hang out with like minded folks and have mom and dad buy them some little luxury extras like warmer socks and raincoats, money of which came from a system what they protest.

Loons the lot of them

I think there's a lot of reasonable people out there who wish they'd never been 'given' a 401K.

The RN’s at my sisters hospital voted to strike (her vote was no) at the end of September.

It was called off. There were many rumblings of RN’s who were against the strike because most of them were the one’s bringing home the bread that sustained their families. With all these rumblings, in which most of the RN’s were against it, I wonder how they came up with the “yes to strike” vote.

The hospital said “fine, go ahead and strike, we have non-union replacements waiting to fill the jobs”.
