Midnight on St Mary Street in Cardiff and everything is exactly as expected. Half a dozen young women slump in a gutter, men urinate outside a health-food shop and, as hordes stagger between nightclubs, someone lifts up a blow-up doll with a sex toy protruding out of it.
The street smells of urine and lager, police struggle to break up a fight outside the Walkabout bar and a paramedic bundles a comatose girl on to a wheelchair. But it's a quiet night for 20-year-old Naomi Jenkins. She has 'only' drunk three shots of peach schnapps, cider and three shots of Jagermeister (during a drinking game called I Have Never) and still feels 'a bit sober'. Her friend Hannah Freeman, 19, was punched in a fight and stumbles about swearing and searching for a bathroom.
'We only do embarrassing things when we're really drunk,' Naomi says. 'I kiss random men in the street and Hannah has had sex behind a chicken coop.' She screams with laughter as Hannah lurches unsteadily in the stairwell of Charleston Bar and Grill on Caroline Street (known locally as Chip Alley) and unashamedly urinates in front of us.

I quickly learned most of the British slang for homosexual as I declined the advances of throughly intoxicated women, some barely teenagers and some old enough to be my mother.
I don't think anything has really changed, although I came of age in New York in the 70's. It is just today that every misdemeanor is photographed, video taped and broadcast to the world and things are covered by the media today as sensational that were once much too distasteful.

When a society becomes mostly godless then the kids are raised without the proper foundation which is Jesus Christ. This is the outcome of that.
I never saw anything like 20p drink specials when I was over there last spring. I found invariably that what would cost $2.00 here cost 2 pounds in the UK. Guess I didn’t travel to the right pubs.

I had one or two late college experiences. Nothing like what was pictured though and I never drove home (went with a group of gals and one drank diet coke all night). However, you are right. That next morning headache and the feeling like fungus has grown on your tongue is something for the youngsters.

My local nightclub (which resembles a cattle market more than a drinking establishment) has 80p a drink on a saturday.
Whilst traditional pub prices have gone up recently (because the anti-smoking nazis forced their trade away) there are still very many cheap, chain pubs such as JD Wetherspoons selling draughts, ales, lagers and spirits for a mere pittance.
Certainly not in London though!
Yep, British men ... some perverse incentive has knocked them out of their natural role. Lost women are the consequence.

Yes, it happens here. Kabukicho, Shibuya and Roppongi being among the worst offenders, but those three districts draw in the skanks from not just Tokyo, they get the easy-sleazies from everywhere from Yokohama to Chiba.
The rest of the city, and the surrounding areas, with the possible exception of Hachioji and other places with a lot of college kids, are pretty tame.
Japan is nowhere near as far down the tubes as Britain (from what I can see).
