i’d expect they’d be more likely to side with tea partiers, as gang are structured in a merit/ ability based heirarchy, and are capitalists- after a fashion. gang bangers do not like socialism.
Above all else, remember that they are Obama supporters, and he supports them - we need to make sure America gets that message!

It's been several generations since anyone other than our servicemen have had to sacrifice. These bone heads aren't prepared for it and won't adapt to it, is my guess.

This idiot is counting on the rest of the country behaving in a shocked and compliant manner when faced with the potential or reality of violence. He grossly underestimates the mood of the vast majority of the people of this country. If he’s lucky, he may live to regret that error in judgment.

Yep, you're right on the "Occupy Wall Street" boneheads, and their ilk.
What concerns me is the rest of the opportunists, at a couple of levels. Level One would be the fools of which we're speaking, that are dumb enough to light the fires.
Level Two would be the looters that will jump in and fan the flames higher, either to see what they can steal, or just because they like to watch their neighborhoods burn. These guys are trouble, but again, easily handled if you're well-prepared (armed). Frankly, you just need to be one step faster than the slowest guy.
Level Three would be the politicians that come in after the fires are out. Who work for "More Social Justice" and "Increases in Security" or somesuch, to "Prevent This From Happening Again". This is where the REAL damage is done, and there's not much we can do about it. In fact, plenty of FReepers, and other conservative types, would cheer them on.
Like I said, it will end badly, IMHO.
