Halloween is nearly here, and the next big holiday is Thanksgiving, followed by Christmas. But in our house, Christmas season has already begun, and our family can't get enough of it. We have already begun watching our Christmas DVDs.

And since my last viewing of It's A Wonderful Life, I now have a nominee for our next president: George Bailey. Sure, he is a fictional character, but as a country, we have done worse.

We really do need George Bailey. Not sure who meets this high standard.

It’s 3 am. The phone rings. Is George Bailey going to try to commit suicide again?

George Bailey wasn’t a Capitalist. Good family man and a good friend but a liberal. That guy that went “hee-haw” with his thumb on his temple would be much better. A real Capitalist that made a fortune in plastics!

We really do need George Bailey.

The closest we have to George Bailey is Bill Bailey...

His uncle was just slightly smarter than the current Vice President.

George was not a liberal. He built homes, employed people, and encouraged capitalism. What he hated were the folks like Henry Potter (who was a liberal). Conservatives believe in building up the community and actually work to do so. Liberals say they want to build up the community and work to destroy it.

Don’t forget that Clarence was there to stop the suicide. We need an angel-protected president.

Speaking of which, has anybody else noticed the resemblance between Uncle Billy and Barney Frank?

LOL. BTW, we should not, as conservatives, accept the liberal lie that being a capitalist means you love money. Jesus said the “love of money” is the root of all evil. Capitalists don’t love money; we simply want to choose where our money goes. Liberals love money; my money.

But he still won’t come home no matter what you say you’ll do or how many times you say “please”.

You’d cast a presidential vote for a man who you knew had responded to a crisis by trying to kill himself? Love the movie and Jimmy Stewart, but I’ll save my vote for a fictional character who can actually handle pressure.

If we’re going to nominate a fictional character for President, my choice would be Al Bundy.

Barack Hussein Obama is a fictional character too.
