Perhaps the issue will be buried soon.

Yes there are other types of attorneys. If you are given power of attorney over a person's healthcare decisions, you are an attorney (attorney-in-fact) but you are not an attorney-at-law.

This is not a gaffe by Cain even if it might look like one.

” Just an idea but it would be great if the story could be turned around to demand that Politico reveal if they got information from a woman in violation of a agreement she signed.” My guess is she did.....her atty is a whore who just wants publicity.

According to Politico it was a former board member of the Restaurant Association who leaked it. LINK: The first woman was identified to POLITICO by a former association board member, and her identity was confirmed by two additional sources.

Most of the vicious bile against Cain has been right here on FR. Thread after thread of garbage. The people I’ve heard on the radio, and those I’ve spoken to in person all think these charges are muckraking.

Laura Ingraham is firmly behind Cain. Most of the local hosts I’ve heard have been firmly behind him, too.

Amazing isn’t it? I come to FR thinking to find like-minded reasonable conservative thinkers and the most vicious commentary I have seen is right here. Even MSM is couching their criticisms in a very careful way, since there is absolutely no evidence to support their GOSSIP!

What’s her name?

What, specifically, is the allegation?

When and where did it happen?

Etc, Etc, etc....

Actually, an attorney is, particularly in England and Wales, an agent appointed to act on behalf of a person (an attorney-in-fact). An attorney-at-law is a more formal term for lawyer.

The reason I know this is that an old associate (and stickler for word usage) used to correct me when I used the term "attorney" (by reminding me needlessly that one should say "lawyer").

RE :"According to Politico it was a former board member of the Restaurant Association who leaked it. "

Which I bet if they were identified would have their own legal problems with the RA for going public with company private information. They probably signed an employment agreement not to leak such things. We still dont know from them what the allegations were, and maybe they dont know.

That is why I always wonder if Cain calling their bluff might have been better. It seems the worst thing he could do is get the RA to release the woman who got the settlement.

“Former President of National Restaurant Association has Ties to the Mitt Romney Campaign
Steven C. Anderson … took over the helm as Chief Executive Officer at the National Restaurant Association
Herman Cain's departure in 1999”

Whenever Team Romney had rumors they wanted to start about other candidates,
Jonathan Martin has been their go-to guy to get those rumors in writing in front of a national audience.

“And The Most Irresponsible Journalist Award Goes to The Politico’s Jonathan Martin!
So tell me, how do you write a “news” story about an organization paying for a speaker when you don’t even know if the organization is paying for the speaker?
Ask “journalist” Jonathan Martin. He knows all about it.
You see, Jonny wrote a piss poor story the other day about how the Iowa Family Policy Center will be paying a large speaker fee if Sarah Palin comes to Iowa to keynote the IFPC’s fall funderaiser.
The only problem is that Jonny has no sources confirming that any exorbitant fee is being charged or paid.
Jonny also got some inside info from David Kochel, who was a top aide to former (and future) presidential candidate, Mitt Romney.
Hey Dave, didn’t I just read a story about how Mitt Romney tried to buy off the Iowa Christian Alliance?
I heard you helped facilitate that little scheme. And somehow you are shocked at the thought of a well-known political figure (who very likely isn’t running for president) getting paid a speaker’s fee for (gasp) a public speaking appearance? ..
and then we’ve got Tim Albrecht quoted. He was the Iowa spokesman for Romney’s 2008 caucus campaign.”
And it always seemed like, whenever the Romney people had rumors they wanted to start about other candidates,
Jonny was their go-to guy to get those rumors in writing in front of a national audience.

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

I’m not a talk show host but am on the radio weekly as a TEA Party spokesman and made my first vocal support for Cain last week. Last night I was hosting a candidates night with media present and spoke of support of Cain and went after people that are slamming Cain.

Congratulations, at least you're seeing this for what it is. It's ALWAYS the cover up. Like a pundit said on TV last night, "Cain had a 10 day heads up on this story. That should have been long enough to get his stories straight."

The original story may not have been that big of a deal but Cain's inability to deal honestly with the issue is what may sink him.

"Is there any other kind - of attorney, that is?"

Well, one could always consult with attorneys who are illegally in the country, making them illegal attorneys. Or those who have had their law licenses "suspended", like MooseShell.

Exactly, she spoke first. The MSM won’t stop until they stop the Hermantrain. But they’re garbage won’t work anymore.Imagine if Cain went to a radical racist church and refused to show his college records;the MSM would be on it like white on rice yet they let Obama pass.
