"WASHINGTON – Former Governor Mitt Romney resigned today from the board of directors of Marriott International, potentially another sign of his preparations for another presidential run.
Romney, who served on Marriott’s board for 10 years before resigning to run for governor in 2002, rejoined the board in January 2009.

Romney's former firm, Bain capital, had heavily invested in Warner-Chilcott, a company which specializes in pharmaceuticals for women.
Merck is a natural rival to Warner-Chilcott, to handle health concerns of the female segment of the population.
When news came out about the connection between Perry's aide and Merck's product for women (Gardasil), I wondered if Romney had an inside track on that information, too.
Couldn't agree more. The timing gives it away. Lefties would have saved this until October 2012. The impetus is someone who wants him out of the primary. Politico indirectly admits as much when it refuses to answer whether a competing campaign provided the lead. Refusing to deny is an admission in my book.

There’s a “good ol’ (insert name of religion here) network” for all religions, with the possible exception of Unitarians.
The Mormon network is easier to spot, because so many of the adherents come from a relatively low population area of the US, ie, the intermountain west.

I hope someone can nail the leaker. I want his head no matter who his associates are. The entire campaign season is being ruined by racist-themed accusations. First Perry and the N-rock from years ago. Second, Romney’s religion didn’t allow blacks years ago. Third Cain’s accusers are only trying to destroy a powerful, black conservative. Now the guessing game of who did it and what candidate is guilty by association. Whoever it is, is not only trying to eliminate Cain, but maybe illiminate two or three other candidate by suggestion of wrong doing. And it certainly is wrong doing unless a crime was committed 15 years ago. There is no indication that there is that possibility. Whoever leaked must have someone waiting in the wings. AND that is a strong possibility. Who was it that set Hillary and Bill Clinton up as racists in their primary? Every hour of the day, Cain is the beneficiary of millions of dollars of good-will, on-air discussion from his former talk show brethren and there is no way any of the other candidates can combat that kind of free publicity. The strange thing is that no one really knows anymore today than they did yesterday. The Cain camp should demand full disclosure even though Politico is probably immune. Demand it anyway, for the Republican Party’s sake. Let’s get on with it. The Cain camp should tell the women to put up or shut up....but Rush probably took care of that this morning non-stop. I was offended by some of his comments. I think he went off the cliff. It must have been built up in him for years. (I’ve been with him since 1989.)
I don’t care who has a favorite horse in this race and how they may be connected to a candidate.. I only care about the sleaze trying to influence the outcome. Who is the one person who has benefited from this leak answers the question of whose people leaked.
The article by Vallejo merely confirms one of my points, that Romney was on the board of Marriott.
I trust that most other freepers, will note, like you did, that Vallejo mentioned Romney's resignation last January.

You seem to have a thin grasp of the facts. I state a fact and you’re putting some spin on it. You can say everything you say about Mormons about Jews, for example, and I’ll bet you’re too much a coward to do it. How much of the Jewish population votes for Jews in many elections? Could be anywhere from 40 to 90%. So where are you on calling out that network, hmm?
Now, as to Reid, whom I’ve met in person and taken pains to embarrass in person at political appearances, unlike most of you who just like to take potshots from behind the safety of your keyboards:
Where Reid was brought up was Searchlight, a two-bit mining town outside of Vegas. Before the late 70’s, people should remember that Vegas was a much smaller town than it is today. It took until 1990 for Vegas to exceed 250K in population. The growth of Vegas since 1990 has been nothing short of explosive. Reid was already climbing the political ladders since well before ‘90.
Before Howard Hughes bought up most of Vegas and moved there in a crazy seclusion, it was a town run by Jewish gangsters from back east. Guys like Oscar Goodman’s buddies, as well as the Jewish political establishment that runs about half of Vegas. Today, you see the remains of that back-east establishment, with the likes of Steve Wynn, Shelly Berkeley (congresswoman from Vegas), Sheldon Adelson (owns the Sands), the Greenspuns (own the LV Sun newspaper, a media group, several smaller publications/magazines, etc).
Into this, Reid comes of age politically after Hughes started his campaign to “buy up” Vegas. What most people don’t realize is that when Hughes did this, he had as his emissaries a bunch of Mormons to actually handle the actual physical details of implementing his orders, and Hughes’ inner circle and their associates became known in Nevada as “the Mormon Mafia.”
As much as I’d like to be able to tie Reid to Hughes’ Mormon Mafia, I can’t seem to find the evidence to do it. What I can say is that Reid has used his connections with the Democratic establishment of old and his large family and circle of associates to put his kin into all manner of helpful positions to him throughout Vegas, Clark County and Nevada state government by rubbing shoulders with the old Jewish network that ran/runs Vegas. I’d say offhand now that Reid is better at playing the Democratic network than any Mormon network, because inside Nevada’s observant Mormon community, he’s widely known as a Jack Mormon, and observant Mormons don’t often vote for Jacks. The people who keep re-installing Reid into office are hispanic, black and jewish liberals and welfare grifters out of Vegas and Clark and Washoe County.
About Romney and the Mormon network, I’ll say this:
Romney had the Olympics in SLC in ‘02 as the feather in his cap last time. That was a big economic boost for SLC and Utah, and the games ended up actually turning a profit, unlike many other places that have hosted the Olympics in the past who end up in the hole. Romney’s face was plastered EVERYWHERE on the Olympic PR material, and he made a BFD about how much he and his wife donated to the effort/cause.
Basically, any gentile looking in on the ‘02 SLC games came away with the feeling that it was a huge made-for-Romney media event. The Mormon community took it as a huge boosterism for the LDS church, who was able to get their licks into the economic pie as well.
Coming off that, Romney had huge name recognition in Utah politics and national politics in the area around Utah. I would have been very surprised if Romney didn’t get the sort of LDS support he got in ‘08 considering the huge “Love Me!” campaign he ran as part of the ‘02 games.

I’d wager that the leaker/feeder of this rumor to the various organs inside DC was Karl Rove.
Bush didn’t give him the nickname of “Turd Blossom” because Rove was a choir boy. Rove spent his formative years in SLC, went to the University of Utah and has engaged in dirty tricks plenty of times in the past. This sort of tactic is right up Rove’s alley.
And we all know that Rove is in Romney’s corner and has been denigrating and dismissive of anyone and everyone else in the GOP primary race.

Would you, as an alleged "devout Mormon," continue to take the position knowing that a portion of your salary comes from their porn industry intake? What would you feel knowing that this theater's $ goes to the largest child-killing organization in the world (Planned Parenthood)?

Romney caught a bit of flack last week because he spent nearly 10 years on the Marriott board and yet never tried to reverse the company’s policy of providing pornography on demand, something J.W. “Bill” Marriott Jr., defended in a 2000 letter as being economically important. ...For a presidential candidate who has railed against pornography, this is not entirely insignificant. Even if the subject never came up at a board meeting, one can argue that at least part of the $25,000 plus stock he was paid annually for his board membership came from the money some hotel guests paid for access to the films.

So, that was as of '07 that he had taken $25,000 annually, plus stock from Marriott for being part of their board. He temporarily resigned from the board in '07; but then returned. And now he's repeating his '07 pattern.
Hmmm....I simply didn't know that "devout Mormons" regularly receive $25,000 or more per year as part of the porn industry...

Per that latter article: AIDS Healthcare and Pink Cross foundations have organized a boycott of Marriott hotels over porn. The protest is not about the Mormon-founded chain's in-room, X-rated offerings. No, that's just fine. The problem, according to the groups, is the hotel company's palette of on-demand smut that features actors who do not use condoms.
Ah. Even the pro-porn liberals were boycotting Marriott because the porn prostitutes it indirectly hired to cater to their voyeuristic guests didn't use condoms! And the Mittster was taking a cut from Marriott's porn profits!
[Oh, BTW, because the top guy of Marriott -- Bill Marriott -- is a hierarchy Mormon leader...Marriott announced within the past year that it would slowly phase out its porn offerings...Hmmm...So Marriott has carried porn for at least 22 years and what, they're going to say 25 years is "enough"...because an alleged "devout Mormon" heads the Marriott show???]

You know, I’m looking for answers because I’m sick to death of all the race crap. Your suggestion is at the top of my list because it makes the most sense. Somehow I believe Perry was told about this a few days ago and may have had a few “what’s the sense? “ drinks.
Also, Cain supporters do not make up the majority of voters. They make up the majority of themselves. They alienate anyone who would support Cain if this story is false. While they jump all over Perry for everything, they don’t seem to see that Perry’s enemies are Cain’s enemies. Romney will be the nominee because that’s what the establishment wants and that’s who BO is gearing up for. Things aren’t looking good for my choice but I’ll wait til the decisions are made.
