PJM Sources Report Details of Alleged Cain Incident
PJMedia ^ | November 3, 2011 | Richard Pollock

Posted on 11/03/2011 10:04:50 AM PDT by bbernard

Adding to the ongoing Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, two sources have now confirmed to PJ Media that a female employee of the National Restaurant Association told associates she had been brought by Mr. Cain to his Crystal City, Virginia residence where she alleged “he had taken advantage of me.”

One source, a male, told PJ Media:

Herman took advantage of seniority and power with a young woman. It was an abuse of power.

Implying that coming forward with the accusations was an ordeal for the young woman, the source also said:

Who do you believe, a CEO or a mid-level staffer? It was unsettling for her to make charges.

The name of the woman — who was in her early twenties at the time of the alleged incident — has been confirmed by PJ Media. We have chosen not to reveal her identity for reasons of discretion.

Both sources, one male and one female, worked at the time — mid-1990s — for the governmental affairs department of the National Restaurant Association, as did the woman.

Ron....don’t try and make me out to be against Cain..I am not against him, but he is not my first choice.

It's getting hard to tell here anymore.

As far as "it's not the way to handle this crisis", that doesn't look to be the case....so far.

His coffers are certainly not suffering, maybe he's handling this just right.

He's doing a good job explaining the so-called 'changing story' line his attackers keep using.

Also defending himself well against his leftist attackers (in the montage Sean played) and the hatred of blacks who don't toe the Democrat line.

He continues to say there is 'nothing there.' Sean ended with a great question regarding what would happen if every detail came out. There is no guilt.

The only way one can believe he is guilty is if one also believes he is a complete liar.

Fine, call it sexual abuse. But it is a case where the woman, or man, cannot freely give consent. I think that’s very wrong.

Although it’s neither here not there when it comes to Mr. Cain. Clearly he did not engage in that kind of behavior.

Not 'bungled' a bit.

I'll bet he gets even more support, financially and otherwise, because of this interview.

I'm glad he gave it. Now he can move on.

The only way one can believe he is guilty is if one also believes he is a complete liar.

It's not about if or not he's lying ohio...and again your missing the big picture. On hannity he was as one protesting too much...and very much on the defensive..even you acknowledged this in your post.

He needs to stop feeding the fire....he is sinking his own ship..and supporters have begun to back off for that.... as i said before this is his test on handling a crisis and he's feeding it rather than speak with absolute clarity and articulation....and move on then.

He keeps saying he's moving on...then spends an hour on Hannity talking about the crisis.....not how you handle a crisis ohio. He sounds good...but then so did obama...so have others...but he's feeding this rather than stepping away from it as he said...and should be doing...he's just sinking his own ship.

“mentioned rape because it is an incredible hurt that can devestate a family”

So’s murder, among other things. That has as much relevance to the current discussion.

“I don’t think these allegations are about rape”

Then why talk about rape? It muddies the waters at best, and can easily poison discussion.

“subordinate feeling pressured into sex with a boss is rape”

Tell it to the judge. Rape is not about “pressure;” it is about force. Which doesn’t have to be directly physical, but must rise above “sleep with me or you’re fired.” Threat of termination cannot invalidate consent. It could be grounds for suit, but not for criminal procedings. Except perhaps if the pressuree would starve or otherwise be in physical danger due to termination, I don’t know. But obviously that doesn’t affect this case.

You may feel it is the moral equivalent of rape, but it is not the legal equivalent.

“I do not think that is what happened with Mr. Cain. I was just reaching out to a fellow freeper, who is obviously hurting.”

It’s okay to talk about rape, I guess. So long as it’s clear we’re off topic. Only I don’t think it’s clear to either of you that we are, despite addendums of “I do not think that is what happened” and suchlike. Because I sense you kinda sorta do think that’s what happened, or something like it. And I’m absolutely certain salivating reporters and politicians are eagerly hoping you do.

I od not judge a candidate based on how much money they are racking up, though it does matter....and Cain has a long ways to go in that respect.

It should be hard to tell who is really for who at this juncture in the process...people are venting and seeing just who is what and about.

Just be careful you are not attacking those who, if Cain gets the primary they will be voting for him if their own favorite doesn’t make it.

That's an interesting observation. He might actually be good as a VP, or Sect. of State. I would not want to see him as POTUS.

oh crap! I didn’t! Even so I am not happpy how he conducted this with Hannity...Cain’s my second choice for now and so i am watching him carefully..but he makes me very nervous about taking the office of President...and further going up against Obama....who will be fully armed.

What size is that shoe in your mouth? You and Karl Rove seem to be trying the same approach, listening to Hannity radio. Should we see that as something you’re proud of?

I'll bet he gets even more support, financially and otherwise, because of this interview.

That's possible for those who view Cain as some did Palin and Obama...and we know there are those here as that. They can't see the vetting process in play.... Others are being cautious and watching carefully candidates move along.

Cain needs to let this issue go ...NOW....he cannot afford the time to wade thru this junk. Enough already!

He keeps tripping himself up...first there wasn't an incident...then there was with one...then two...so he needs to move on.

Probably about a size 14! lol.. Listened to Hannity because someone said Cain would be speaking...wanted to hear what he had to say.

Generally when I listen to certain programs it’s who the guests are more than who is hosting them...although that’s considered with the listening.

Sometimes I actually even listen to Savage! lol...depends again on his guests. He can be a hoot for entertainment now and again.

It is written right in the linked article here that her parents had to help her. Read the article instead of asking me what more I would know of her. I only read the article and then shared how horrible I think it is that people are marginalizing inappropriate sexual conduct, no matter whether it was a brutal assault with a brutal physical rape (which it doesn’t appear from the article to have been) or a legal rape from taking advantage of a low-ranking, younger girl or possibly in a drunken stupor (which I don’t know which but the article seemed to hint at if only through circumstantial evidence, read the linked article), or for any words spoken or actions done which would have made someone feel uncomfortable with Mr. Cain’s words and actions.

We don’t have all the specifics of this gal, the second one that has already been reported, or the ones at the Iowa radio station reported yesterday, but we DO know there were complaints by women who felt uncomfortable with what he did, some enough to submit a complaint to their employees and two we know of who received settlements, no matter how big or small.

I don’t know this woman, her story, or any of the others, and I only know she had her parents involved because of the linked article here which provided that info, but I want to remind people that using sex or even just making people feel uncomfortable with related words or actions is NOT something to glamorize, and it IS something to be concerned with, whether that concern needs to be one of “icky disgust” or one of outrage. I am seeing too many conservatives more concerned with Mr. Cain’s campaign than they have for real people who have had something probably ranging from a difficult environment to work in with a fear of what COULD happen to possibly a lot worse. Even the FIRST level should be of SOME concern to the conservative leaders we depend on to help our country keep its vision of right and noble things on this earth.

Put those actions into perspective, but NEVER overlook when a man.. or woman for that matter... overreaches sexually.

Hillary stood by her man too.

Not exactly. It was closer to she dragged him along on her way to the WH. They haven't lived with each other since she left Pennsylvania Ave.

With the cab driver there as a witness, you check her drivers license/ID.

If his wife wasn’t at the apartment to help and also witness—it was stupid to take this young girl to his apartment.

Even if he didn’t touch this drunk young girl and he had the best and noblest of intentions—it was a VERY dumb thing for him to do.

Common sense dictates not to do such a foolish thing.

If his wife was there I don’t think there would have been a suit filed or settlement for a year’s salary given.

And, if she was too drunk to drive he should have gotten a female employee to make sure she got home safely, not bring her to his apartment. Good lord are you really that gullible?
