PJM Sources Report Details of Alleged Cain Incident
PJMedia ^ | November 3, 2011 | Richard Pollock

Posted on 11/03/2011 10:04:50 AM PDT by bbernard

Adding to the ongoing Herman Cain sexual harassment controversy, two sources have now confirmed to PJ Media that a female employee of the National Restaurant Association told associates she had been brought by Mr. Cain to his Crystal City, Virginia residence where she alleged “he had taken advantage of me.”

One source, a male, told PJ Media:

Herman took advantage of seniority and power with a young woman. It was an abuse of power.

Implying that coming forward with the accusations was an ordeal for the young woman, the source also said:

Who do you believe, a CEO or a mid-level staffer? It was unsettling for her to make charges.

The name of the woman — who was in her early twenties at the time of the alleged incident — has been confirmed by PJ Media. We have chosen not to reveal her identity for reasons of discretion.

Both sources, one male and one female, worked at the time — mid-1990s — for the governmental affairs department of the National Restaurant Association, as did the woman.

The woman said they took a taxi. I was really looking for some way to explain why Cain would bring the woman to his place.
So far no luck, but I'll keep trying. :)

But it is a case where the woman, or man, cannot freely give consent

Really?

Are you serious?

Is it your view that all sexual relationships at work (of which there are many) are nonconsensual?

Do you believe subordinate women ever seduce higher-status men? When they do, are those relationships consensual?

This feminist garbage doesn't belong here. In.my.opinion.

I agree. Before all of this PC nonsense, men and women met at work, sometimes dated and sometimes married. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

This current policy and attitude is ridiculous.

WE can tie it to Perry campaign. It is pretty obvious.

My candidate may be down, but he's not out. 60 days is an eternity in politics.

IF, your guy ever does come up to the lead, just think of the treatment he'll get.

Most honest folks would be inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt just like Cain should be receiving and come to his defense....but then again, maybe not.

The woman said they took a taxi.

She can say whatever she want to say, doesn't make it true.

We all know women have NEVER lied in cases like this, don't we.

Cain and Block have no proof. Just a bunch of whiny accusations. Since you're so confident, lets see your proof, bucko.

Most honest folks don't run around making scurrilous claims against other honest folks. Now do they? Course not.

Take it up with Cain and Block.

Neither source has direct knowledge of what occurred at Mr. Cain’s residence, but several days after the alleged incident, the male source witnessed the woman returning to her workplace “distraught.” “She was very upset.”

One source told PJ Media: “Some people didn’t believe [the accuser]” at the time she made the allegation. The female source recalls the woman continued working at the NRA for several weeks after the encounter; the male source recalls the woman continued working there for a few months.>

Why bother to continue working there? She got her payoff.

Not talking about drunken men in general, we're talking about Cain.

Of course you conveniently omit that and the fact you have zero proof that Cain did it.

Nice deflection.

I still think you’re unaware that it’s a nonsequitor, and bring up rape not because both situations involve hurt families but because you think what Cain did is rape-esque.

First, you won. I don't know your lawyer-like words, and I'm too emotionally sunk today to go look up your fancy words. So yea, Mr. Smart Person, you've beat me down today in this message board thread.

I'm just a mom and a woman who identifies with these women who are getting drug through the mud for whatever they had to deal with in their past.

Hope you feel better now. You're smarter than I am.

Secondly, from anything I've seen, no one, including myself, has said what Mr. Cain did was rape. I know of no rape case. This appears to be something between a work place sexual annoyance to sexual advances up to anywhere other from that. We don't know, and I have NOT said Mr. Cain brutally committed an act of rape.

Finally, I should be able to speak of my own situation as a mother, relating to the parent's involvement in the linked article of this thread. This was a young woman who needed her parents, and when I spoke of when my own daughter needed me, another poster told me that if my daughter needed me when she was raped, that my daughter was a wimp.

Now I really hope that you do not also believe that women and girls should take being raped 'like a man' or even that they should just put up... or not put up... and then shut up, depending on how serious, flippant, or just "socially icky" the man may be. I also hope you can give me the liberty of relating to the parental involvement indicated in the linked article, my ability to see a young lady there who needed HER parents just as our daughter needed us during a bad ordeal in her life.

There are two different stories here, yes, but a girl needing her parents to help her during a time such as EITHER of us had is something foundational to both of us, and I understand and empathize with that family in that respect.

So, you are incorrect that I believe this is rape or even rape-esque, but you are also incorrect if you don't think a parent can not relate to the horror a family has to go through when a daughter is violated as is indicated in this linked article here, be it actual rape like MY daughter lived through or waking up in your bosses' bed (Mr. Cain) like the girl in this linked article did.

Either scenario would be horrifying for a parent.

And as for what I hope in sharing my thoughts and vocalizing what I'm sure other women and families are feeling right now, I just wish our conservative pundits and leaders, etc. would take more care not to bash and diminish the women of our country who only want to be allowed to feel safe and that they stand as a beacon for all of us who want to feel confident that we still have a country who really does care that women, men, and children alike are not violated in the work place or anywhere else in our daily life events.

Not by me.

I was including everyone involved in the smearing that has been going on this cycle.

The dems don't appear to have a thing to worry about, we seem to be doing there job just fine.

No I know primaries can get testy and just hope that in the end we can unite behind someone to beat the real enemy, obama.

I don't have all of the facts, and neither do you.

That is my point.

Like I said married men who take drunken women home always tell the truth. At least as often as the women in these situations have.

I'm not arguing that fact, I'm arguing whether or not Cain did it.

Right now it is nothing more than he said she said with no corroboration.

Even the PJM media modified their own story today to say they had no corroboration, just allegations.

Congrats.

Whoever is the last Republican standing will get my vote against Obama. As long as its not Romney (or Paul). That doesn't mean I'm going to be satisfied with my vote, however.

Btw, if you compare the attacks on the candidates on this forum, the Texas Governor wins hands down.
