Sad end to a historic career. Tarnished after 46 years. The team and the university will not be the same. Joe Paterno was to go out on top. This certainly is not a celebration. The team and the school has fallen.
I wonder if the NCAA or the investigators will demand further disciplinary action against Penn State.
Yep. First ‘Climategate’ and now this.
“The team and the school has fallen.”
Our entire culture has fallen. This is simply one more bit of evidence to support that. Any society without firm moral principles is doomed. Period.
I do not know what Coach Paterno knew about any of this. I will not tarnish him without knowing so.
It wasn’t tarnished after 46 years.
It became tarnished after the first incidents were covered up.
That we are only finding out now shows the depth of the corruption.
Maybe the trustees should have put in a university president with different values and vision than a guy who wrote his doctoral dissertation on wife swapping.
Just heard on ESPN that players who were going to play for Penn have changed their minds and will play for some other school because of this.
All to protect the footbal franchise and the income stream for the school. Now it looks like they’ll have neither. And the kids are still the losers. The victims of these ehinous acts have lost the most...but so have past and present members of the football team....and the current students and alumni.
We see how the schools circle the wagons...as they did around the professor(tree ring) who falsified data on the globull warming studies. So why would anyone think they would ever be capabe of impartiality? And now it will cost them dearly..in $$$$, careers and reputation. Time to clean house...all of them.
