Bachmann: "I haven't had a gaffe"

Michele Bachmann, making the case on Fox News that she's the safest candidate in a rather jaw-dropping statement.

BACHMANN: I haven't had a gaffe or something that I've done that has caused me to fall in the polls.

People see in me someone who's genuinely a social conservative, a fiscal conservative, a national security conservative and a Tea Partier. I'm the whole package.

And when it comes to the best Republican who take on Barack Obama and not have any clunker in my record to be able to take him on, it's me. And I've been involved as a private citizen for 50 years, and for the last five years, I've been in the lion's den in Washington, D.C. And so I have a record that I'm very proud of, and I'm happy to take him on in the debates to hold him accountable for what he's done to the economy and the country and our national security while he's been in office.

VAN SUSTEREN: So you're talking about clunker -- you mean the allegations -- underline allegations, no proof of Mr. Herman Cain that there were two women who said that they were sexually harassed, and you had the Governor Perry's unfortunate 53-second gaffe at the -- one of the debates -- is that the clunker that brings people down?

Since this debate there have been numerous stories about vaccination problems both here and abroad. I guess we shouldn’t take the media seriously either. I know some people who have personally had problems with this as well.

I don’t think that disqualifies her but to the LSM certainly she is TOO conservative, thus she is a non-started.

“Questions about vaccines” is vastly different than her deer-eyed statement of fact ‘because some lady told her some crazy story.

And as far as I know, those “questions” (which I don’t have) never involved kids over 1, did they?

Note: I should have said her conservative bonafides are unquestioned. I was arguing against her purported intellect.

I agree 100%.

Michele is the candidate most likely to have a term in office where all her actions are true to conservative causes.

It’s painfully obvious that a majority of people who like to think of themselves as conservative idiotically jumped on the Republican establishment bandwagon and bashed Michele, taking the best candidate for forcing some real change on the establishment government out of contention.

Will Cain win ? Even ol’ big-healthcare Newt ?

Conservatives talk about getting rid of cronyism, then when a real socially and fiscally conservative candidate comes along, they knock them out before the primaries start.

I guess not all FREEPERS Tivo Fox news nightly and have watched her and all her recent appearances, but every time I’ve seen her she looks and sounds GREAT.

As well spoken as Cain or Newt with none of the baggage.

I’d have to say her problem is she has been PALINED. The sad part is that most conservatives are going right along with this. She’s crazy, she can’t win, ect.

See the results from 2008 for what happens when we let the media choose our candidate.

I’m guessing Bachmann has no sexual harassment skeletons in her closet, if that’s what we’re talking about. No support for Obamacare either.

I think I’m catching on to your code now. When you put a word in all caps you really mean “this post is BS.” LOL

Well there was the bit about Elvis’ birthday and John Wayne’s birthplace...

I recall both clearly

If my posting-style puts you off (I like to use caps to emphasize a word), then I’ll put in in a way that even you can understand:

In the debates, they made goo-goo eyes at each other.

When Romney turned to her and lovingly told her how great she is in that round-table discussion when it was his turn to ask another candidate a question, you could sense her melting in his arms.

It was touching. Nearly brought me to tears. I mean barf. Ooops.

I find Mitt Romney to be a repulsive human being. I know politicians schmooze from time to time, but getting that close to that man would be difficult for me. I can’t imagine MB thinking it any more tolerable than I would. So why the smile?

Look she’s a tax attorney, it is not in her interest to throw out the tax code, she would kill her family buisness. Romney is the status quo he will just tinker with the tax code, making 10,000 new pages to confuse everyone except Michelle Bachman. I would prefer a 10% sales tax, but i’ll take 999 because it throws out the old tax code and starts fresh, or eliminate incom taxation and go back to the way our fore fathers did it, import duties.

Many of the comments on this thread are instructive as to how not to comment on the candidates I don’t like. It also reminds that if democrats lose, it won’t necessarily be a moral victory.

I would be honored to call her Madam President. I just don’t think Americans deserve her. She is too good for the conservatives that is for sure. Conservatives want a left of center candidate with Rush, Perry, Romney. Sad but really conservatives IF they were conservative, would be supporting either Bachmann, Cain or Santorum. Sad the conservatives are selling their principles to the highest bidder. I certainly DO NOT believe that conservatives make up most of America. I don’t even think they make up the majority on Free Republic. I think there are a lot of liberal Republicans who are financial conservatives. Definitely marriage support is a joke around here. You cannot be conservative and support a guy who treats marriage as something that you throw away when you get bored. Oh and until he dumps the wife, he cheats with many many women on the side. Yes really a great candidate. NOT!!!

It reads as a tag team. Rollins does Palin with impunity. Michelle and Mitt double-team Perry. Core values--lip service.
