Just goes to show how deeply entrenched the open border lobby and the La Raza invaders are in the current Republican Party. These b*stards need to have the collective boot of outraged Americans put up their arse.

Until Newt made this equally outrageous statement I had not made up my mind on him but he can now rest assured that I will not even consider him for any support just as I did Ricardo Perry when he shot himself in the foot too. These people who support illegal aliens over me and my family are desperate idiots.

Where are all the people who were criticizing Perry for having a more conservative immigration stance than Newt?

More conservative immigration stance?! Okay, you can pull your tongue out of your cheek now!

That comment won’t help Newt with the primary, but it sure helps with the general election and winning over independents.

Wow, Newt has lost FR... Newt/Perry haters tonight!

And likely all the many more that they have any influence on outside of FR. Interesting how some people are so quick to label anyone who disagrees with them as a hater. Your life must be real simple, as in really simple minded!

As far as I know, the laws are in place ALREADY. It’s just a matter have having the Justice Department (and INS) start ENFORCING them.

8 USC § 1324. Bringing in and harboring certain aliens contains:

(A) Any person who—

[snip]

(iii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, conceals, harbors, or shields from detection, or attempts to conceal, harbor, or shield from detection, such alien in any place, including any building or any means of transportation;

...[shall] be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both;

All it would take would be for a new President to issue orders to the DOJ, and for Federal Marshals to arrest the mayor and city council of any town that declares itself a "sanctuary city" and put them on trial facing 5 years PER COUNT, and this nonsense stops real fast.

“Bachmann... You’re out!
Perry... You’re out!
Cain... You’re out!
Gingrich... You’re out!

Who besides Obama and Biden have not received any harsh criticisms, yet.

Hint: rhymes with Omni.”

This is the strategy of the Romneybots. His campaign people have admitted as much. It’s a war of attrition. Tear down everyone else and conveniently stay silent on by far the most liberal candidate in the race. Their hope I guess is that somehow we’ll conclude on our own that Romney is “inevitable.”

Too bad for them-these types of games aren’t gonna work this time around. There’s way too much at stake. We can’t afford to settle for a guy that has a record that is to the left of Ted Kennedy.

The 3 with realistic chances at this point to knock out Romney (Newt, Perry & Cain) all have some baggage, but any of those 3 are far and away better than Mitt. When my state votes, I will likely pick the one of these 3 that has the best chance to knock off Mitt.

Some arrogant Gingrichbot told me the man is so bright he can argue any side of an issue. So, I asked him, how do we know what he actually believes? Never got a response back.

Gingrich 'prepared to take the heat' with talk of amnesty

This one sentence shows all that is wrong with the Beltway types.

OK, Ginrich is willing to 'take the heat' - but what does that mean?

Wow, he might not get the nomination. Big whup. He goes back to raking in the bucks from his Beltway influence peddling - which also gives him the money to be insulated from the consequences of this country pandering to illegals.

He makes enough money to live in a gated community.

He can go to a high-end hospital not overwhelmed by treating illegals, as mandated by the fedgov (all in the name of humanity, mind you).

And he makes enough to where taxes needed to pay for welfare and bennies for illegals don't take a big proportional bite out of his paycheck.

So in other words, he is oblivious to the impact that his perceived 'humanity' has on working stiffs.

And that is EXACTLY what is wrong with him as GOP nominee.

Yeah, most of them would. You know which ones wouldn't? The very same ones he was talking about... the ones that have been here 25 years and have kids and grandkids here.

And some day they will die as illegals and the problem will be solved.

This is very illustative of the unreliable, undisciplined, ADD side of Newt. He witnessed and ultimately profitted by the Perry ‘heartless’ remark. Why in the world would he venture down that rat hole? All on his own? Does he fear success? Or does he think that he’s so brilliant that he’ll be able to deflect whatever criticism comes his way? I don’t get it. Newt just shot himself in the foot...with a friggin’ bazooka!

<>i>"How can they be illegal if they’ve never been in Mexico?

If they were born here, right now, they are considered US citizens."

Lot of people making this argument here. Simple answer: along with other enforcement activities, pass immediate legislation to reverse birthright citizenship, ASAP! This would turn off one of the largest illegal immigration magnets, because the prospective illegal is counting on being able to stay because of anchor babies, not to mention all the gubmint goodies they get for the chillun.

Well said. None of these candidates are perfect, but so far, Newt has the most common sense approaches.

No one - and I mean no one - is sending 11 million (15 million, 40 million, whatever!) illegal immigrants back home. Sure, you make it harder for them to work here and deny benefits available to citizens to incent them to return. You might deport 10% or 20% of them, but never get them all. A combination of tougher laws and incentive to leave is the key initially.

So what do you do? My two simplistic cents - Secure the border first, and figure a way to slowly allow certain ones earn citizenship (here for a long period, paid taxes, no criminal record, etc.) and incent the rest to leave by making it hard for them to work here. The government will not round up a large percentage of illegals and ship them home. Just isn't going to happen.

As a practical matter, Newt is correct. We're not going to be able to pass immigration legislation that results in the expulsion of every single person who is here illegally. That's obviously the preferred result, but I do not think that will ever get enacted or enforced to that degree.

If you first secure the border, and then make very limited exceptions for a small class of people to stay as permanent residents but not citizens, but otherwise get what we want on immigration, that is a much better alternative than what we have right now. It is not ideal, but it is far better than the current result.

An example of the class of people might be people who: 1) can prove residence for 20 years; 2) have adult children who are citizens of this country because of birth, and who themselves have lived in this country for at least 18 years; have no police record other than for minor traffic offenses. Maybe there are some other reasonable qualifiers out there as well.

This is not the ideal solution. However, if the border is first secured, this may be a means of getting enough popular support to make everyone else leave. And perhaps as the price for this, we eliminate automatic citizenship for anyone born in this country of a parent who is here illegally.

Screw them all. Seriously i can stay home instead of going to wait on line to vote for someone that supports amnesty. Amnesty is supported by 2 groups. Hispanics (not all but most) and politicians (again, most not all). The majority of tax paying citizens on the other hand don’t support it.
Pandering weasels figure people will vote for them regardless so they make a play for the amnesty supporters.
