NAPLES, FL -- Presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich defended his immigration policy after days of criticism from other GOP contenders – reiterating that he does not support amnesty -- on Friday night before his largest crowd yet on the campaign trail.

"I am not for amnesty for anyone. I am not for a path to citizenship for anybody who got here illegally," Gingrich told the crowd of roughly 750 people, many of whom were forced to stand in the hallway...........

"I think the vast majority [of illegal immigrants] will go home and should go home and then should reapply. I do not think anybody should be eligible for citizenship,".....

Ah, so then in your view, the only option is to round them up at gunpoint and escort them across the border. Let me know how it goes in the General election for a candidate that espouses that.

Yes I have. The ACLU has a significantly harder time arguing against Green/Red Card status, but they sure as heck will fight what you are proposing. There would not be a single illegal rounded up under your proposal because the ACLU would tie it up in knots.

Logical thinking not your strong point, eh?

That’s OK. Your man Gingrich ain’t so good at it either.
Maybe you can point out the actual law to Newt, since he is applying for the job that requires him to enforce it:

8USC1324. Bringing in and harboring certain aliens

(ii) knowing or in reckless disregard of the fact that an alien has come to, entered, or remains in the United States in violation of law, transports, or moves or attempts to transport or move such alien within the United States by means of transportation or otherwise, in furtherance of such violation of law;

” sjb lives not far from the Mexico border in Arizona. He can testify how the wave of daily illegals are brightening up his area of the country “

If you mean by “ brightening up “ the 400,000 acres started by illegal trespassers, yes.....they certainly have.

A $5000 penalty and then you receive (or have already received) tens of thousands of dollars worth of public benefits

Newt = Fail

That is ‘undocumented American immigrant worker’ Sir. We don't want to hurt any-ones feelings.

Remember the progressive motto : we all own everything in a democracy collectively, even those ‘undocumented’ own a fair share for being here. We all were undocumented immigrants coming here for food stamps once, especially the slaves.

I agree with you. Illegals totally destroy American life. They do not assimilate. They are rude, slamming doors in front of you, no smiles (unless it’s a man’s leer). They are filthy. They leave unsanitary trash everywhere. They don’t do anything for their school kids, which ruins public education and slows down every classroom. They are dangerous as you demonstrated.

I was behind a man at OSH hardware, and he was buying a lot of fly traps. I asked if he had horses or dogs. He said “no, illegals,
.”. Next door to him there were many illegals stuffed into a clown house, and the one bathroom wasn’t enough so they used the yard...

I am sorry, newt, in your VA mansion, but we are not inhumane for wanting them out!

So first we’re “hate filled” to want to deport illegals, and now you’re accusing individual posters of being Obama agents? I guess we know we’ve won the argument then.

Newt does not care about any of what you say. He is the tool of corporate American who want cheap labor, that is it. The liberals love to hide behind words like ‘humane’, ‘compassion’ but the liberals are also a tool for corporate American. Amnesty is corporate welfare, cheap labor and any cost.

Let’s ask all that question of the people who have been waiting and following the law to come in LEGALLY. I bet they pay far more than that for immigration lawyers and paperwork.

Gingrich wants AMNESTY. Period.
