BREAKING!! Aide: Herman Cain will stay in the race
The State Column ^ | Nov 29, 2011 | Staff

After reports surfaced Tuesday morning that pizza magnate Herman Cain is reassessing his 2012 Republican presidential nomination bid, POLITICO obtained a statement from a Cain campaign spokesman regarding his candidates’ consideration of dropping out of the race.

“Yes,” the campaign spokesman said Tuesday when asked whether Cain would “definitely” remain in the race.

The clarification comes after the National Review Online released statements that Cain made in a conference call with campaign aides Tuesday morning. During the call, Cain made the following statements, “We have to do an assessment as to whether or not this is going to create too much of a cloud, in some people’s minds, as to whether or not they would be able to support us going forth,” Cain said.

Michele made a Mistake by letting that Putz Ed Rollins into her campaign, I hope She can still pull it out, but that nimrod only made it much harder.

Other than that Herman Cain is the only other Candidate that gives me even the slightest amount of Hope that he will check the Whig Leadership and the Culture of Corruption that has gripped Washington. And I agree 100% about what you said about Sarah and Ronald Reagan, they look(ed) on America as a Nation of Citizens, not a Nation of Serfs.

I know a lot of people and they haven’t moved to Newt. Maybe you’re lot of people are different than my lot of people. That’s a whole lot of people.

Just plain common sense, Cain fought off stage four cancer, makes no sense he would collapse under a flurry of false accusers.

Glad he is staying in. McCain, Gingrich, and Clinton are guilty of worse. If Gingrich win, he will likely get the same treatment.

The one to have gained most from him dropping out is Gingrich and the Democrats.

BTW, I just saw on "Judge Judy" a guy from Georgia who looked just like Obama.

If anything, Newt is drawing Rommey people.

Good. We need someone with guts, because even if he gets elected, he’ll still have his work cut out for him for the next 8 years, fighting against the politicos in both parties.

These media attacks just make my like him more, frankly. They are meaningless, unless we let the media run over us.

And he is better on foreign policy than most of the others. One of the few Republicans who understands that Libya was a mistake. That famous pause was because he was being recorded giving an interview to several newspaper reporters, and was suddenly thrown a confusing and completely off-topic question.

I still have some doubts. I wish he hadn’t settled on that damned 9-9-9 business, for instance. But most of the remaining alternatives are simply out of the question.

Either we need Cain to rise to the challenge, or we need the return of Sarah Palin to fill the yawning vacuum. I don’t see any other choices now, and 2012 is probably the last chance our country will get.

Somehow, I don’t think so. I just sent him more and a lot of other people will too. We are sick and tired of the lib media/Democrats/RINOS telling us who to nominate.

Herman Cain is the real deal.

A lot of people have already moved on to Newt. With Cain staying in, it may only help Romney by splitting the conservative vote.

That would only apply if Gingrich were a conservative. Of course, compared to Romney, he is, but then I don't use Mitt Romney as a measurement for political conservationism. Who does?

I like Herman a LOT.

I want to vote for him.

I do not believe the accusations because the few that have gone public have back stories that make them less than credible.

But he’s GOT to bone up on foreign policy and he’s GOT to limit the gaffes on domestic policy.

Becaue true or not, those accusation coupled with the meme of a candidate who knows neither Jack nor Squat, will finish him.

And why would the Cain campaign give POLITICO a heads up after they started all the smears??

Cain/Bachmann 2012!!!!

I think they should break the mold and promise that if we elect one, the other will be guaranteed VP choice. I would even go so far as to say that John Bolton would be asked to fill the Secretary of state slot.

It would sure shake things up and force the other candidates to show their hand.

Newt is picking up the endorsements. And a new poll in south carolina shows Newt up 11 points on Cain.

Also a national poll shows Newt still surging.

He’s picking voters up from somewhere.

IMO, this means nothing. If Cain has already decided to get OUT of the race..you don't announce it quickly...today..it takes a little time to plan...to shut down. But you have to say something..so Cain announces that he's "reassessing" while a staffer leaks that "he's gonna stay IN the race!"'Golly gee willikers."'..and we're all supposed to believe that?

Cain will be OUT by the weekend, at the latest..

"While diplomacy is a critical tool in solving the complex security issues we face, it must never compromise military might. Because we are such a free and prosperous people, we are the envy of the world. Many regimes seek to destroy us because they are threatened by our ideals, and they resent our prosperity.

We must acknowledge the real and present danger that terrorist nations and organizations pose to our country's future. Terrorists only have one objective, namely, to kill all of us. "

~Herman Cain
