Romney a potential running mate, says Gingrich
CNN ^ | 2011-12-07

Newt Gingrich has at least one name on his list of potential running mates: GOP rival Mitt Romney.

"I think Mitt Romney is a very admirable person, and I'm not going to pick a fight with Mitt Romney," Gingrich said in an interview Wednesday with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.

When asked if he would ever ask Romney to be his vice presidential nominee, Gingrich didn't mince words.

"I think the consensus is that he'd certainly be on the list, whether he'd want to or not," Gingrich said. "He's a very competent person. This is a very serious man. I would certainly support him if he became the Republican nominee."

I thought his answer was “kill him with kindness perfect.”

I am still waiting for the GOP to audit the stimulus spending, almost a trillion bucks.... maybe they got a tenth of it to keep quiet?

Agreed. He’s trying to play nice and avoid the blaring headlines that would accompany the “Hell no, the guy’s a blithering tool with good hair” comment. There’s more chance that my dog gets the Veep nod than Romney.

“Now I do like Mitts choice of John Bolton as Secretary of State.”

Yikes! I meant to say Newts choice of John Bolton.

Newt once again shows his political ignorance. The man never had a conservative bone in his body, and still doesn’t. He would make a deal with the devil himself, if he thought it might lead to a few more votes for himself.

My initial reaction to this news is “Meh! So what.”

Romney as Newt’s VP has no influence over SCOTUS appointmens, no authority to write EO’s. Romney’s influence would be restricted to that which Newt would allow.

If I’m not seeing thing clearly, please FRiends, set me straight, educate me.

Tex

Ok, let's see.

A week ago, most of us were delighted that Romney finally was put in his place, so we ALL (most of us :) got excited about NEWT'S resurgeance.

Newt = 100 points of good will

Then, Newt finds Mr. Trump such a "character bigger than life" etc. I did not like that.

100 - 5 = 95 points.

And now, if this is true... THEN Newt has no idea how many of us DETEST this man...

95 - 10 = 85 points...

I At this rate, pretty soon, he will not seem so SMART/WISE as I thought at first... So my advice to SANTORUM AND MICHELLE... KEEP AT IT, DON'T GIVE UP ... Everybody says Newt is in the habit of destroying himself... I'm beginning to think, this might actually happen...

Amen! Even if we lose with Perry, at least we lose fighting for the cause. Not fighting the enemy’s cause.

No you don’t; all you know is that Newt DOES NOT attack other GOP candidates and won’t be baited into doing it either by the likes of communist slugs, i.e., Communist Newz Network/Blizter, to break that.

It wasn’t a serious answer in my view.

Newt gave a “kill Romney with kindness” answer.

I think he would say much the same were he asked about all of his rivals, save for Ron Paul, don’t you?

Great idea, Newt-wit. Any ticket with Romney on it will not be one that gets my vote.
