NEWT: SPEAK BOMBASTICALLY AND CARRY A TINY STICK

December 14, 2011

Fellow right-wingers: Is our objective to taunt Obama by accusing him of "Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior," of being "authentically dishonest" and a "wonderful con" -- and then lose the election -- or is it to defeat Obama, repeal Obamacare, secure the borders, enforce e-verify, reform entitlement programs, reduce the size of government and save the country?

If all you want is to lob rhetorical bombs at Obama and then lose, Newt Gingrich -- like recent favorite Donald Trump -- is your candidate. But if you want to save the country, Newt's not your guy.

Gingrich makes plenty of bombastic statements, but these never seem to translate into actual policy changes.

After becoming the first Republican speaker of the House in nearly half a century, for example, Newt promptly proposed orphanages and janitorial jobs for children on welfare.

It was true that welfare had destroyed generations of families shorn of the work ethic and led to soaring illegitimacy rates, child abuse and neglect. Maybe orphanages and child labor would have been better.

But we didn't get any orphanages. We didn't get jobs for children in families where no one works.

What we got was the cartoonish image of Republicans as hard-hearted brutes who hated poor kids.

Ronald Reagan was also accused of waging a war on the poor. But that was on account of his implementing historic tax cuts that produced not only record revenues for the government, but decades of prosperity for the entire nation.

With Newt, you get all the heat, blowback and acrimony, but you don't get the policy changes.

To the contrary, his pointless bloviating about orphanages and child janitors harmed the chances for welfare reform, despite the fact that the American people, the Republican Congress and the Democratic president (publicly, at least), supported it.

Indeed, when it came time to make vital changes to welfare policy, such as work requirements and anti-illegitimacy provisions, Gingrich tried to scuttle them. He denounced such provisions -- the very heart of welfare reform -- as, yes, "social engineering of the right" (e.g., Republican Governors Conference, Williamsburg, Va., Nov. 22, 1994).

The guy who wanted orphanages for children on welfare suddenly called work requirements for adults on welfare right-wing "social engineering."

Gingrich went on to lose almost every negotiation with Bill Clinton -- and that was with solid Republican majorities in both the House and Senate. His repeated capitulation to Clinton led former Vice President Dan Quayle to remark that the Republican "Contract With America" had become the "Contract With Clinton." (Not to be confused with Newt's book, "Contract With the Earth.")

Perfectly good policies are constantly being undermined by Newt's crazy statements -- such as his explanation that women couldn't be in combat because they get infections, whereas men "are basically little piglets," who are "biologically driven to go out and hunt giraffes."

Hunt giraffes?

With Gingrich we get the worse of all worlds. He talks abrasively -- offending moderates and galvanizing liberals -- but then carries a teeny, tiny stick.

We want someone who will talk softly and unthreateningly while implementing vital policy changes. Even when Gingrich doesn't completely back off conservative positions, his nutty rhetoric undermines the ability of Republicans to get anything done.

” Nobody is offering anything to dispute the facts she is presenting.”

I will only offer this:

*********************

Look at their accomplishments. Newt allied himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition, the Religious Right, and the Republican majority (together the Reagan Revolution) which directly led the downfall of the Soviet Union, the Contract with America, government reforms, less government, tax cuts, a balanced budget, and the great, long-standing Reagan economy.

Romney, on the other hand, vehemently denied Ronald Reagan and aligned himself with Ted Kennedy and the left. Romney accomplished installing liberal big government programs, defended and promoted Roe v Wade and legalized abortion as “settled law,” advocated and implemented RomneyCare with its liberty killing government mandates against formerly free citizens and its taxpayer funded or subsidized and mandated abortion procedures. He ran and governed to the left of Ted Kennedy on the “gay agenda” resulting in gay marriage in Massachusetts. He appointed liberal judges and liberal appointees throughout his government. Under his “leadership” conservatism and the Republican party was all but destroyed in Massachusetts.

Romney is one evil liberal progressive. No way in hell will MittBots be allowed to support this abortionist, big government, socialist scumbag on FR!

Guess my message isn’t clear enough. I have to keep repeating it and zotting would be MittBots.

Ann Coulter is dead to me!

I will burn her books this weekend and take pictures for posterity.

I am not a Newt man, but I am so much against Romney, that I will probably not vote if he becomes the nominee.

Thanks you Ann, for helping Obama get re-elected, and that is why you are DEAD to me!

I would not support Romney even if his track record were not so liberal. Has there ever been a truly conservative Mormon politician? I think not. The fraudulent foundations of the religion require duplicity in their dealings with the outside gentile world.

Well it really between her and God.

It’s not for us to judge whether someone has salvation.

David, Saul, Paul, Job. I’m sure a lot of people questioned their relationship with God.

If by Saul, you mean King Saul. Scripture points to the fact that he has not received salvation. He fought against God's chosen. You do not try to kill God's chosen and expect to gain salvation. What he did was equivalent to what Judas did to Christ.

You are spot on Bill.

Mormonism is a cult that has sent more souls to hell then Hitler, Stalin, Mao and other totalitarian leaders have killed physically combined.

Anyone who would be our leader, must never belong to an Anti-Christian Religion.

Plus he is pro womb murder. As the head of the party, Romney will have the power to change the Republican platform. How long do you think it would be before the Republican party drops pro-life from it's platform with Romney as the head?

No abortion supporting candidate has ever received my vote, and I will not start now. That makes two huge reasons that Romney must never ever get the Republican nomination.

Hey Old Lady, I received my results from the MRI. It was not good. I'll fill you in more later.

Oh ok your opinion is pretty clear.

I don't know about the wise thingie though...

I have never known a Christian that hasn't at one time or another has been “acting as an unbeliever.”

I certainly never judged their salvation.

Of course, working with people in jail I ran into a lot of jailhouse conversions.

I think Coulter believes that Romney would be the best nominee (probably of her misguided notion that he is the most electable), wrong as that is.

It's not that easy to lose salvation if it is a real and sincere act on an individuals part.

"...she is striving to lead this nation astray."
I'll just leave that one sit there...

...King Saul. Scripture points to the fact that he has not received salvation.

Probably the most disputed saved/unsaved instance in the Bible.

Scripture points both ways, and it is still discussed today, pro and con.

"What he did was equivalent to what Judas did to Christ."
I'll have to disagree with that. That I know of, God never changed Jusas' heart now annointed him.

They were both used by God for His own purposes.

Ann, did you ever think that the Speaker can only carry a small stick, it’s the president who carries the big stick.

Give Newt a chance, and I assure he will wield a big stick and big ideas... speaking softly or however.

You’ve shown me that you’re not as smart as you make out to be....

Sorry, that’s how I feel.

We currently have a marxist, non-Christian, non-citizen as a president, who is actively working to allow this great nation to be destroyed. A lot of people have swallowed the red pill and will vote for him again. I will vote for anyone, even Romney, to prevent this charlatan from taking the wheel for 4 more years.

I’d like to see some real polling data (real polls designed by unbiased statistically literate professionals, not the cotton candy being spun out to the public) to see who really polls the best against Obama - I’ll vote for whoever has the best shot.

So you resort to the leftist tactics of attacking the person because you cannot make a case against what was said? What is it that Ann said that you disagree with?

She is going all out for “electability” while truly ignoring that the media have not yet sharpened their knives for Romney..he’s their guy until the general just as McCain was their favorite Republican until the general election.

No truer words...

Ann and the rest of the GOP establishment are getting skillfully duped into thinking that Romney is somehow electable, simply by a dearth of negative media attention. If Mitt gets the nom, this will all change and I suspect the dems have mountains of material ready to use against him.

I expect it will trickle out slowly then become a media tidal wave a couple weeks before the election. There will also be women saying they were raped, men accusing Romney of fondling them, kittens sacrificed on Mormon alters, etc. For every accusation responded to, three more will show up on the front page.

The left has no intentions of losing this election and will play dirty. doesn't matter who the nominee is. What was done to Herman Cain was just a dress rehearsal so we had better have a candidate that can fight back tooth and nail.

Mitt is not that candidate

More to be disgusted about Newt:

Quotes About the Marriage of Marianne Ginther and Newt Gingrich:
Holly Bailey: “Speaking about the breakup of the marriage for the first time, Marianne Gingrich tells Esquire’s John H. Richardson that her former husband lied to the public when he insisted they had an “understanding” about the affair. She says Gingrich tried to convince her to “tolerate” his relationship with Bisek, but she refused.”

Marianne: “We started talking and we never quit until he asked me for a divorce ... He asked me to marry him way too early. And he wasn’t divorced yet. I should have known there was a problem.”

John Richardson: “Back in the 1990s, she [Marianne] told a reporter she could end her husband’s career with a single interview. She held her tongue all through the affair and the divorce and even through the annulment Gingrich requested from the Catholic Church two years later, trying to erase their shared past.”

Marianne: “He believes that what he says in public and how he lives don’t have to be connected.”

Jake Tapper: “Gingrich married his second wife, Marianne Ginther, months after he divorced Battley in 1981. According to Battley, Gingrich discussed divorce terms with her while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery.”

“In those giddy days after the 1994 election that made him Speaker, Newt and Marianne Gingrich decided to drive to the Georgia coast for Thanksgiving so they could have time to talk, time to think, time to sort out what had happened to them. Marianne has always been Newt’s sounding board, the one to bring him down to earth.”

Betty Sekula: “Newt was indifferent to Marianne right from the beginning. It was him, not us.”

Gail Sheehy: “I ask Marianne if their marriage was a one-sided equation from the beginning. “That’s true ... I was necessarily happy being married to someone like Newt,” she admits. Later on, she says, “I made it very clear I wasn’t happy with certain behaviors.” She gave him a copy of the book Men Who Hate Women & The Women Who Love Them (compare prices), by Susan Forward and Joan Torres. The book describes men who are socialized to dominate and control. One variation is the “Henry Higgins” type of man, who is “often charming and even loving,” but who switches to “cruel, critical, insulting behavior on a moment’s notice ... They gain control by grinding the woman down. They refuse to take responsibility for how the attacks make their partners feel.” “Oh, boy, does that sound like Newt!” exclaims a family friend ... At one point, Newt publicly described the chances of his second marriage succeeding as 53-47. He confides during our interview that he really had not learned to express emotion until he married Marianne — when he was nearly 40.”

Mickey Porter: “Gingrich’s most recent ex-wife says he ditched her eight months after finding out she had multiple sclerosis. Which makes sense - many women are frequently debilitated by gynecological causes. Note also how many have gotten pregnant while on ships & subs.

We warned that women and homosexuals in combat was a bad idea....and yet they had the gall to be 'shocked' when homoerotic pictures came back from Abu Ghraib.
