AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

Wikinews interviews Darcy Richardson, Democratic Party presidential challenger to Barack Obama
http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikinews_interviews_Darcy_Richardson,_Democratic_Party_presidential_challenger_to_Barack_Obama

If you had been elected president in 2008, what would you have done differently than Barack Obama?

Darcy Richardson: The fact that President Obama initially appointed Larry Summers as chairman of his White House Economic Council shortly after taking office, should have given everybody pause. Summers is probably more responsible for the country’s current economic mess than any other individual.

As President Clinton’s Secretary of the Treasury from 1999 to January 2001, Summers shaped and pushed the financial deregulation that unleashed the near-collapse of Wall Street in the autumn of 2008, particularly when he pushed through the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933 during the final years of the Clinton Administration — legislation, as you know, that had prohibited banks from doing both commercial and investment banking.

An architect-turned-enabler of this never-ending economic crisis, Summers later supported the Commodity Futures Modernization Act that, unbelievably as it might seem, mandated that financial derivatives — including the reckless credit default swaps at the heart of the financial crisis — could be traded between financial institutions without any government oversight whatsoever.

It’s little wonder that Rolling Stone writer William Greider, in a marvelously detailed article in late 2008, pointed out that Obama’s choice of Summers and other key economic advisers, including Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, seemed designed to sustain the failed economic policies of the Bush presidency — an administration that never saw the financial crisis coming in the first place.

The Summers appointment told me that the President had no earthly clue how this devastating financial crisis happened or how to reverse it.

Things only got worse after that. President Obama failed to resurrect the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933. He failed to include a public option in health care. He failed to assert his constitutional responsibility during the recent debt limit crisis. Unbelievably, he’s failed to protect Social Security and Medicare. He extended the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy. He failed to push for cap-and-trade. And he failed to close Gitmo. I could go on, but I think you get the point. If anybody deserves a serious intraparty challenge, it’s the current occupant of the White House.

In retrospect, it’s really incredible that a Democrat of national stature and credibility hasn’t entered this race — at least as of now.

Do you believe Obama has done any good things as president?

Richardson: Nothing I could write a book about, unless it’s a work of fiction. He’s generally been disappointing, allowing the GOP to frame the debate on issue after issue. Who in their right mind wants the Republicans to dictate fiscal or economic policy in this country? The folks in the Occupy Wall Street movement have already figured that out. It’s just a matter of the rest of the country coming to the same conclusion...

Sounds like it . . . not in a bad way, necessarily. But I do think they coordinate.

“I saw his gaze go skyward and it seemed like he decided not to say something. Maybe he was about to slam the polling firms or the media for manipulation ...”

I missed that nuance, but I did think about the question, even after the interview was over. It was a good question. I though along the same lines as you. How manipulated are we conservatives by the MSM (and the RINO wing)? ... EVEN though we know they are corrupt to the core.

To your wishlist, I actually do like Perry, but there is this “feeling” that I get that I am not sure how to comprehend. Not sure if it is the “Fred Thompson” feeling of being shoved in to the race without actually wanting to be in the race or if it is his laissez-faire style of governing Texas that may not translate well to the office of POTUS. Perhaps he would do well with a VP such as Bachmann.

So, in answering my own question, my vote would go TODAY to Bachmann.

My presidential selection list currently looks like this:

Bachmann
Perry - Gingrich tied
Santorum

Romney and Paul are out.

I really hope Ron Paul doesn’t get the nomination. His supporters would be completely insufferable.

I fear a Libertarian run reminiscent of Perot that would hand Obama a re-election if Paul does not get the Republican nomination. What would really shake things up is if a strong Green Party candidate could siphon off some of Obama's votes. On another note, does anyone still remember PUMA? Did these voters really exist or was it all a smokescreen?

I think it’s safe to say he’s trying to sway some people. LOL!

He is strongly non-interventionist in the same mode of a group of Republican politicians pre-Pearl Harbor. IMO, the world is just too small any more for full non-interventionism. And would Ron Paul's non-interventionism also mean getting out of NATO? If so, would that be good or bad?

How manipulated are we conservatives by the MSM (and the RINO wing)? ... EVEN though we know they are corrupt to the core.

Good example. Look at the nation's reaction to Cain after the fourth accusation. Many were just not willing to continue to look dumb by supporting, even if not true, a sexual harasser. And I posed this question to some of them:

The reaction I heard most was, "But there are now FOUR accusations." To which I would ask, "If we are a nation of innocent until proven guilty, should it matter if there are 100 accusations if all of them are false?" The responses were interesting.

Wouldn’t it be funny if Occupy Wall Street and PUMA types team up to try and select the Democrat Candidate, they got their man in earlier mentioned Richardson running from true left.

Hey caller, if you can’t afford health insurance for your son, how can you afford to go out and about to fireworks shows?

People are willing to spend their own money on almost anything except the necessities of life.

They want someone else to take care of the basics for them so that they have more to spend on travel, big screen tvs, and iPads.
