No offense, I was just trying to keep the thread on topic.
Why does this smells fishy? I for one do not trust the U.S. Postal Service if they are the ones that are verifying the addresses. They don’t always deliver my mail and return it as deliverable or no such number. The sad part in all this is that we have only lived here 28 years.

Why? There will be third party candidates on the ballot. It’s a very easy decision: do you vote for someone who will be as bad if not worse than obama, or do you not vote for them?
Very easy choice in my view.

Are you saying that Paul and Mitt's signatures were not held to the same verification standards or even scrutinized like the rest?

The RNC will do anything to get Romney elected. The RNC is as corrupt as the communists Democratic Party.
VA does not require write-in ballots to be counted in a primary. But it does not prohibit it either. (The legal language is somewhat obfuscatory.)
It is up to each state party to decide whether or not to count write-in votes.
In 2008 the VA Republican Party turned in zero (0) write-in votes to the state.
It is up to the VA GOP to decide whether or not to count write-in votes in 2012. Given that the VA GOP apparatus is dominated by Romney supporters, it would be doubtful I think.
If he only collected 20+ percent, then he has only himself to blame.

Spot on advice. Third parties have to deal with this BS all the time, which is probably why Ron Paul met the requirements: his people knew better.
Onyx, you’re right that the legal challenge would be a PR nightmare for the VAGOP and Romney-—The only thing— ole Newt can’t be the one making the argument in Court-— not after he’s been threatening to impeach most of them! (LOL) Perry has to lead.
That’s the Republican Party doing the checking.
Unfortunately, the local registrars and the state Board of Elections don’t do any checking. That’s why Virginia has one of the highest percentage of illegal alien voters in the union.
Groups like SEIU, Mecha, La Raza, and ACORN sign em up by the thousands and nobody checks to see if they are legitimate citizens.
George Allen lost to Jim Webb by 7000 votes, flipping control of the US Senate to Harry Reid. The illegal alien votes for Webb far exceeded that 7000 margin.
As soon as Bachmann, Santorum, and to a lesser extent, Perry drop out...Newt WILL dominate!

And they’ll lose. The VA gop took the rule book and beat them to death with it. VA courts aren’t particularly receptive to these kinds of arguments.
