Americans buy record numbers of guns for Christmas
Americans bought record numbers of guns last month amid an apparent surge in popularity for weapons as Christmas presents.

According to the FBI, over 1.5 million background checks on customers were requested by gun dealers to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System in December. Nearly 500,000 of those were in the six days before Christmas.
It was the highest number ever in a single month, surpassing the previous record set in November.
On Dec 23 alone there were 102,222 background checks, making it the second busiest single day for buying guns in history.
The actual number of guns bought may have been even higher if individual customers took home more than one each.
Explanations for America's surge in gun buying include that it is a response to the stalled economy with people fearing crime waves. Another theory is that buyers are rushing to gun shops because they believe tighter firearms laws will be introduced in the future.

More than 50,000 people have applied for concealed carry since Wisconsin implemented the law on Nov. 1. About half of those applications have been approved and the state DOJ has been swamped with background checks since that time.
That’s the one industry that the Kenyan is improving.

Tighter laws? Guns will always be available for a price. Coming bad times? That has always been a possibility. Now, fewer cops on the street is a good reason. Hoarding? If you have one firearm, you want ‘em all. Santa was kind enough to leave CZ-82 at my house this year. Now EandHmom wants one.

Im a Reagan Gen-Xer. My daughter is 22 and from what she tells me, there are a significant number of people in her age bracket in and outside the military that she known (she’s USAF) that have had that proverbial Come to Jesus Revelation regarding liberalism.
We will probably never ‘convert’ them to full blown old school conservatism, but the libs have most definitely overreached with a bunch of their target market. The PETA/enviro and yes, even total abortion as birth control in leu of personal responsibility crap does not sit well with more younger people than one might think.
I also laugh every time she tells me about how one of her friends suddenly realizes they’ve been lied to. Warms my heart ;) Dispite the best laid plans of Communism, they STILL defy the programming.
Maybe more people think they may have to defend their right to vote in Nov 2012.
I’m Gen-X too, and my 20yo daughter a few years ago developed with her best friend a pretty good darn shootin’ Zombie plan.
With her schoolmates off to Afghanistan, Iraq, places where only bullets decide matters, and having a Marine (Iraq) roommate, she saw the light on her own.
She’s ~socially liberal, but quite serious about property rights and 2nd amd, and socialism. She and her class have had to fight out socialistic tendencies at work where we really didn’t. Of course, we didn’t start out in service industries, either.
I have more than a glimmer of hope for our twenty year olds.
So a writer from Los Angeles uses the “C” word rather than a non-nondescript phrase like “the holidays” when writing about firearms. Is he trying to make an unsubstantiated association? How does he know they weren’t purchased as presents for Hanukkah or Kwanza, which also fall in December?

That’s something the libs didn’t take into consideration...then again, perhaps they did and thats why they were so anti war.
All those tens of hundreds of thousands of military saw combat and just even the ‘real world’ over there. It changed them all profoundly. I know my daughter came back a much harder person with far less tolerance for BS.
Those people know what guns are, for and aren’t. They know the lib line on them is BS. They know the lib line on Islam is BS. Many MANY have realized that lib anything is BS...
And they talk with their America-bound non military friends.
The ‘homies’ are not so easily brushing off the truth when their friends tell them and byt the liberal line in it’s staid.
Thus we see Incompitano/DHS labeling ex-military a threat.
1. Commander Zero & henchmen arm violent drug cartels in Mexico.
2. They use the violence committed by said cartels to restrict 2nd Amend. Rights of Americans.
3. The Obama administration implements and carries out a plan to assassinate Americans without trial if they appear on a secret list of terrorists.
4. President signs NDAA that allows military to arrest and detain indefinitely, without charges or counsel, anyone deemed to support terrorism, even citizens in the US.
5. DHS releases a report that the Tea Party, Patriot groups, RTL orgs, 2nd Amend. Supporters and Military veterans might be terrorists.
Fear mongering my a$$.
