Mark Levin Threatens To Campaign Against Rand Paul If Ron Paul Runs Third Party (AUDIO)

Mark Levin, who was on vacation, came back with a fierce threat today. Levin promises he will do "everything in his power" to defeat Sen. Rand Paul if his father runs as a third-party candidate. "If Ron Paul decides that he is going to go third-party, which is detrimental to this nation, and pulls a million votes, which is relatively insignificant in the big scheme of things, I will do everything in my power to defeat his son in Kentucky. I will do everything in my power to defeat his son Rand Paul in Kentucky," Mark Levin said on his radio program tonight.

Actually, Mark does use his voice to dismantle Ron Paul.

I didn’t hear his broadcast tonight, but he must be as disappointed in Rand as I am.

Yeah, I know Ron is family blah, blah, blah.

I don’t consider what amounts to blackmail a good conservative principle.

When the end is justifying the means, "good conservative principle" will get you a place at the bottom of the dogpile.

I understand his feeling, but ultimately, I think he will decide it’s not an idea. (Of course, I suppose it depends somewhat on exactly what Rand does.) Rand has no way to force his father not to run.

-—I will do everything in my power to defeat his son Rand Paul in Kentucky,” Mark Levin said-—

Does that include the maximum campaign contribution to his democrat rival?

I am not convinced that a Ron Paul 3rd party bit would hurt the GOP any more than it would hurt Obama/Democrats. At least 50% of Ron Paul's support is not coming from actual Republicans anyway. Here is the thing with the RP cult, most of them are ONLY interested in voting for RP. Period. There is sizable crowd of drug addled, peacenik college kids that are supporting Paul, but do not identify as Republicans. When Paul fails to win the nomination, he is not going to endorse the actual GOP nominee anyway. My guess is half or more of his supporters, being young hippie/hipster types will end up voting for Obama rather than the Republican nominee. All the paulbots I knew in 2008 pretty much ended up voting for Obama. The real libertarians that actually understand his message will vote for the Libertarian party candidate - but that is a minority of his supporters.

As to Rand... Well, I like him, but part of me has never trusted him. I suspect he actually supports the crazy stuff his Dad believes, but is smart enough to know he could never win statewide in Kentucky if he admitted as much. Glad to have Rand in the Senate, but I am suspicious he isn't being fully honest about what his agenda really is. I'll bet lurking under the surface, we will one day find out Rand is much more like his father than he lets on - complete with the wacky conspiracy theories, isolationist foreign and dangerous defense policies.

Why take it out on his son? I like Rand Paul. Mark should know better.

Ya know, that was my first thought too.

After reconsidering it though, they're both wrong so why not?

I agree, Levin definitely has sunk to Obama type levels if this is true. Shades of the "Chicago way".

People way over-estimate the possibility of Ron Paul running third party. He was as explicit as one could be without being absolute when interviewed by Tim Russert. He was pressed for an absolute answer, because 99.9% was not good enough. Who in their right mind would make 100% commitments about their future? Let loose the lemmings: “OMG! He did not rule it out, so he’s probably going to run third party.”

People are gullible. Kookier than Ron Paul in a good many ways.

Exactly why “the establishment” is the problem. But I don’t expect anyone to have any virtue anymore, it is, after all, always about the money.

"Kudos to Levin. I do occasionally disagree with him, but no one should doubt his love for this country and the manner of its Founding."

Levin is a coward and a traitor. Ask that fraud to define natural born Citizen.

” Ron Pauls’ run is just setting the table for his son to run down the road. “ <<<<

Maybe.

But Ron Paul is a born zealot, of the first order. What happens with Rand I think probably is a distant second to all that zealotry. Ron has been at his mission an awfully long time, in spite of the advantages or disadvantages to the family, it seems to me anyway.

If Pappy Paul runs third party and Rand endorses him, then the people of Kentucky should not only defeat Rand in the next election, but politely ask him to leave the state as to not bring complete shame on it. I hope Rand is smart enough to be actively telling dad not to even consider a third party run.

Levin a loud new york type,, overestimates his influence in Kentucky. Are there any Kentuckians that think they can influence a New York election?

I think i was about 12 before i learned that “damn yankee” was two words.

Old hippies who vote for a limited government candidate don’t bother me at all. It would be interesting to find out to what extent they comprehend Ron Paul’s desire to eliminate the Department of Education, etc. This could be a case where a coalition tilts conservative in the bigger scheme of things. I can live with a liberal without the tax-and-spend-big-government mentality, who appreciates the benefits of a strong defense and private enterprise. A smaller footprint in foreign affairs is not by default a step toward weakness.

Trump is the only one to threaten to go third party. Gary Johnson is running on the libertarian ticket. Paul has no interest. Again, the voters of KY., would ignore Levin. So what is Levin going to threaten Trump with? Nothing, he’s powerless.

I consider Ron Pauls threat of a 3rd party run blackmail.

The sins of the father shall be visited upon the son? What did Rand Paul ever do to Levin?

I listen to Mark’s podcast everyday and really like him, but this is despicable. I agree the re-election of Obama will be the death nil for this country, but I choose to go out with dignity. Threatening a man’s family for the offenses he commits is no better than the fascists that control and currently support this government we oppose.

I will never listen to a word he has to say again.
