Yep, I’m one of them.

But I must also say...if Santorum eventually gets the nomination, I’d vote for him.

As much as it pains me to say it. Rick Santorum is the best chance we have of electing anything close to a conservative to office.

The rest of the bunch are either progressives, establishment republicans or socialists.

And fueling their anger is the considerable help that the White House and the national Republican leadership gave Mr. Specter, even though during his 24 years in the Senate he often voted with Democrats against Republican-sponsored legislation backed by Republican presidents, including President Bush.

I wonder how much Karl Rove was involved in this as well.

How can we forget? Liberals like you bring it up daily. I don’t give a dang about this. Each candidate makes bad endorsements. In fact, most here normally say endorsements don’t matter. Suddenly they do? I don’t by it. Oh and the wonderful voters in Pennsylvania where I voted for Santorum are sadden by punishing Santorum because Casey was part of the Obamacare vote. Yep they sure showed them. I remember that Scuzzynova was endorsed by Newt.....where is the story reminding everyone of that????????

He made a mistake out of party loyalty. We saw how Specter repaid that loyalty and Specter’s treason isn’t any one’s fault but his own doing.

That’s Santorum’s only real baggage. Its either him or Romney.

Conservatives can let an old grudge get in the way or they can take Mittens.

Now it begins. The hit pieces on Rick now begin. Lets see how he holds up. Newt is still standing after all the bombardment.

Right, because Bachmann campaign for Carter. Perry for Gore. Newt for Dede...I could go on.

I am encountering the “only my man can win, you conservatives will hand the race to the dems” all over the
place. Imagine what curdled compromise caused poor Rick Santorum to bind himself to the creature ‘Specter’. I get queasy just thinking about it.

I didn’t know this about Santorum. Hard to believe. Wonder why he did it.

Yep. The one thing he did wrong. How many things have the other guys done wrong?

He did it because George W. Bush and Karl Rove twisted his arm, hard.

Also, he said that he agreed to do it because Specter had earlier endorsed him—although it must be said that Specter did not return the favor in that election. He took Santorum’s endorsement and left Santorum hanging in the wind.

Santorum is the only reliable, all-around conservative left standing, now that Palin has dropped out. The rest have long lists of misdeeds, not a single mistake, like Santorum.

Watching him in one of the debates taking one position THEN after Paul spouted his BS. The next thing Santorum did was agree with Paul!

Didn’t take much for him to switch his opinion within minutes.
IIRC the Blitzer debate?

Backstabber Romney THREW Election 2008, dude.

Romney for Obama in 2008

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers…
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide…
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
"Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."

The Palmetto Scoop reported: "One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was
the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
… aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw
that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.

"These staffers are now out trying to finish her off ….hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign?
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

"Peeking Out From the McCain Wreckage: Mitt Romney"

"Someone's got to say it: IS MITT ROMNEY RESPONSIBLE FOR OBAMA'S VICTORY?"

"Vanity: Team Romney Sabotaged Palin and Continuing to Do So?"

"Romney Supporters Trashing Palin"

"Romney advisors sniping at Palin?"

Santorum undermined fellow conservatives in a really ignoble way, telling people a conservative can’t win.

That argument always sucks in a lot of conservatives. In 1952, many conservatives who should have known better backed Dwight Eisenhower, since the conventional wisdom was that Sen. Robert A. Taft (R-Ohio), the conservative leader, couldn't win. The same thing happened in 1976, when a number of Republican conservatives including Barry Goldwater stuck with President Ford over Ronald Reagan. And in 2004, the conservative commentator Hugh Hewitt backed Specter over Toomey because he, too was drinking that vintage coolade.

Yes. “What is good for thee is good for me”.

It was heartbreaking at the time for Santorum, without regret or hesitation, to help scuttle the chances for a conservative like Toomey in the PA contest only to elevate liberal Arlen Specter. Santorum has bosses and he is indebted. Then, we had to suffer through watching Specter be the one to advance the Marxist’s case for Marxist healthcare, by both mouth and vote.

Now comes Santorum working his booty off from the ledge, on the conservative right, when what is clear as crystal is this man deals, but not to your hand when it doesn’t help the house, (the Establishment)!

“Fool me once, shame on you.......”

Just in case anyone forgot about Mr. Santorum's wonderful past.

So an endorsement is a disqualifer for GOP nominee? I guess that eliminates all the candidates except Romney. I hope you are going to be excited about voting for him because I am not. Go Santorum.
