(AP) SALT LAKE CITY - A bodybuilder who was shot in the head during a carjacking outside a Nevada casino then drove herself to get help was released from a Salt Lake City hospital just days after the shooting, which authorities said figured in a two-state crime spree.
Rattana Keomanivong, operator of the Animal House Training and Nutrition gym in West Wendover, Nev., is a tough woman who earned the title "Wendover Strongest" during a weightlifting fundraiser last summer, police Sgt. David Wiskerchen said Wednesday.
Keomanivong was able to drive herself to the police station after being shot Saturday outside a casino in West Wendover and give a description of her assailants, he said.
Wiskerchen cited the woman's "sheer survivability" and added, "It was amazing. It was miraculous."
The suspects in her shooting and the earlier killing of an elderly Utah couple are being held in a Nevada jail on suspicion of kidnapping, robbery and an attempted murder charge. They will face additional counts in Utah after resolving the Nevada charges.
Court officials in Elko, Nev., said prosecutors were preparing formal charges against Logan McFarland, 24, and Angela Atwood, 25, both of Sanpete County, Utah. They were captured Tuesday walking in the desert south of Oasis, Nev.

Who? The car jackers? The intended victim? Real-estate speculators?
Help me out, here!
After reading the reaction of the suspects, I wonder if:
a. they got the wrong people, or
b. they got the right people for the car jacking but the wrong people for the killing of the older couple.
Well, isn't that just too damn bad.
Just the other day I told my husband that it seemed like an inordinate amount of crime, violent crime, happens in Utah. Seems like every week or two there is a story on Fox of something in Utah. Does it seem that way to you? It also seems since I moved to North Carolina there are stories on national news in our state: political , weather, crime, or something. Maybe I’m just more aware. Don’t think so.
as a Kansan living in Utah, I would say there is some truth to that observation...I find myself continually "entertained" in a grotesque sort of way by watching the local news - which I almost never watched while living in other states. Bizarre, violent crimes, people getting killed by the dozens each year while recreating in our beautiful outdoors...it's still a great place to live, though.
my buddies who shot me in the head once were well mannered enough to actually take me to the Hospital in Greenwood Mississippi afterwards
Southern courtliness
They were probably embarrassed for mistaking you for a possum.
WHITE carjacker couple shoot in the head a BLACK victim —this is soooooooo weird...!
