What policies that you dont like do you think Mitt will enact?

What policies that you want gone do you think Mitt will not rescind?

I would. I sure wouldn’t like it but anyone that says they would prefer Barry Hussein has obviously not deeply delved into his past.

You and all your squishy like minded robots are the EXACT REASON why the GOP keeps giving us RINOS!

Hmmm... Mr. Reaganaut, on what Presidential issue do President Reagan and Mitt Romney hold opposite views?

I beg to defer, the stealth socialist, like Romney, is much more dangerous than the blatant socialist, that Obama is.

I will make sure to vote straight GOP for House and Senate, but if it’s Romney, I’m writing in Mickey Mouse.

An Obama Presidency can do very little damage from here on out. A divided Government would mean Barrack would actually have to work, and he has proven to be a lazy politician. He will be on a permanent 4 year vacation. We will have time to rebuild. Something to consider.

The initial damage, while huge, was done in '09 and '10. There is not much more he can do without a Democratic congress, which he will not have.

I keep posting this message: Both parties are driving us toward socialism it’s just that one party is driving a little faster than the other. If obama is reelected the fault lands squarely at the feet of the GOP for not supporting a true conservative. I will not vote for a RINO and if obama is reelected because of a third party then I’m ready to rip off the band-aid and have this revolution. I can fight for my children’s freedoms. If I help elect a RINO then my children will have to fight for their own freedoms. I’d rather do that for them.

It’s a moot point, anyway, since Obama will squash Romney like a bug, anyway. Democrat always beats Democratic Lite.

“What an asinine statement. For all of his flaws, there is no way that he would be even remotely as bad as Barack Obama is for our nation. Anyone who would categorically state they would not vote for Romney under any circumstances is effectively declaring their support for Obama.”

Thanks for posing some rationality (and sanity?) to the discussion. I would surmise that <1% of the posters on this site have listed Romney as their 5th or 6th choice. It’s not our (those of us that went with the conservative choice of the time) fault that all but one of them has crashed and burned (either thru their own or others cause).

Currently, Santorum is the last fortress against Romney. If he can’t cut it, then we have shot our wad and it’s belly up to the bar time. The hatred against him for his RINOitis or flip-flopping and likely his Mormonism seems to be more intense for some in this crowd than that directed at the guy who will definitely drive us into the ground of oblivion. Obama MUST be defeated period, exclamation point.

Just as important is for the next Congress to limit the authority of the executive agencies (EPA, NLRB, etc. etc.) to make law or better yet eliminate some of these agencies entirely. Obama has assumed dictator like powers and we have to cut the water off of future presidents that attempt same.

I agree. Anthony Kennedy isnt Captain Conservative, but he has been pretty good in maintaining the Constitution.

The things I look at for President are:

Judges
Willingness to Veto
Wisdom in using the military
How they will implement a Cabinet

A lot of the social and fiscal issues that candidates get judged on are things that the President will not be able to enact. The President’s only powers over social/fiscal issues are using the bully pulpit and signing/vetoing.

But as far as bringing in judges, being Commander in Chief, and the scope of the Executive branch, those are what a President must be on the right side of.

Sadly, I believe you are correct about this in more cases than I would have thought possible. I do not support Romney and I am LDS...but Romney is not Obama and he will be nothing like having Obama in power

If we are unable to stop splitting the true conservative vote and end up with Romney. In that case, I will vote for Romney as a last resort to avoid four more years of an abject Marxist being in power who has, in his first three years almost brought this nation to its knees.

I believe we must also focus on getting a Tea Party House and Senate in place who WILL hold Romneys feet to the fire. In addition, I do believe Romney understands the free market and will do well on that account in any case.

I pray Santorum can continue to rise and win...and if not him, then Perry or Newt. But that only happens if one of them quickly rises to the top and the others throw in behind him.

This thread is hypothetical and I will go on record saying that I will not vote for Romney, ever.

More damage has been done to this republic with a "moderate" Republican President and a Republican congress than with a divided government. The deal making will make you sick. Gridlock is better.

As a matter of fact I can envision a scenario where Romney gets the nod and runs his campaign from the middle. If he pisses me by completing casting of conservatism the best he can hope for is I stay home, I never stay home.....

Romney better watch his step.

Does the President get to set our national religion? Is that something that is within the power of the President?

On what Presidential issue does Mitt Romney disagree with President Reagan? Heck, open it up to any of the current field of GOP candidates - how do they differ from Reagan?

I won’t vote for Romney. I’m sick and tired of Rinos being shoved down our throats and told we must support them. I did that the last time with McCain and look what that asshole did. He ran a horrible campaign, then after losing his staff and the GOP elites stabbed Palin in the back.

“conservatives have nothing to fear from starting our own political party because the Demoncrats are now marginalized. Win-win.”

There is not enough conservatives in this country to win an election. if you start your own political party- you will lose.
You need to back the Republican candidate- because if you dont- you will lose your power.
At least right now, the Republican candidates are generally expousing conservative views. They have to because they are scared of losing your vote.
The minute they see that they can win without your vote, those candidates will change. And your third political party will always lose.
