Ron Paul Campaign Uses Soros-funded Research
Accuracy In Media ^ | January 9, 2012 | Cliff Kincaid

Posted on 01/09/2012 7:04:25 PM PST by detective

Rick Santorum told [1] Ron Paul in Saturday’s debate: “You should know better than to cite George Soros-like organizations.” The comment came in response to attacks on Santorum’s record from the Texas Congressman and libertarian running in the Republican presidential primaries.

Exposed for using Soros-funded research in an attack ad [2] charging that Santorum had been “one of the most corrupt” members of Congress, Paul had no explanation or response, except to say that “somebody” had done a survey attacking Santorum and he used it in the ad. The Ron Paul ad includes the line, “I’m Ron Paul and I approve this message.”

The exchange adds to Republican fears that Paul is trying to weaken or divide Republicans in order to guarantee Obama’s re-election.

The Soros organization alluded to by Santorum is the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). It is the source of the corruption charge against Santorum in the Ron Paul ad.

In the debate [3], Paul said that “…somebody did make a survey and I think he came out as one of the top corrupt individuals because he took so much money from the lobbyists.”

That “somebody” was CREW, a Soros-funded group that targets Republicans and conservatives.

Santorum shot back: “Let’s talk about the corruption issue. The person who—the group that called me corrupt was a group called CREW. If you haven’t been sued by CREW, you’re not a conservative. CREW is this left-wing organization that puts out a list every election of the top Republicans who have tough races and calls them all corrupt because they take contributions from PACs. It’s a ridiculous charge. And you should know better than to cite George Soros-like organizations to say that they’re corrupt.”

“a Texas Democrat hack who, when his own background was looked into, was involved along with a host of other bigshots in some perverse cultlike group of wingnuts who get their jollies by slapping dead chickens in the woods and dance around fires pretending to be tribal males.”

Bohemian Grove? You mean one of those guys?

Some of the replies here were good for a chuckle.

The idiocy of saying that the most strict fiscal conservative who wants to slash the size and scope of government drastically is a "communist" helping Obama is hilarious.

And the ultimate irony is that the ones saying that probably support one of the many big-government RINOs or internationalists running against RP, all the while claiming to be "true conservatives." But do carry on! The rest of us will continue fighting to change the status-quo.

Ron Paul is a longtime member of Congress and a Washington insider. His long career as a Congressman coincides with the dramatic increase in government. Ron Paul has done nothing as a congressman to stop the rise of big government. The fact that he attacks the government he is a part of does not make him a fiscal conservative, it just makes him a hypocrite and an opportunist.

“As for those who truly believe Ron Paul is working in tandem with George Soros to bring the country down, a tin foil hat is not good enough.”

Ron Paul is not “working in tandem with George Soros” he is taking orders from Soros.

Ron Paul is a long time Congressman and a Washington insider. Why does he never do anything as a Congressman to reduce the size of government?

Ron Paul never attacks Obama or Romney. Ron Paul attacks conservatives. Ron Paul went on TV and said Michelle Bachmann “really hates Muslims”. Ron Paul spent millions attacking Newt and Santorum.

Ron Paul is working to insure Romney's nomination and Obama's reelection. He is also working to discredit conservatives. It is as simple as that.

I don't suppose it's because we haven't sent anyone to help him out, do you? He's consistently voted against, and spoken against, growing government, moreso than any representative in government I've ever seen or heard about in my lifetime. Suddenly he's an agent of George Soros? I don't buy that for one second. The people who do need tin foil hats more than anyone. If there's any discredit due, it goes to those who continue the establishment meme: bigger government with meddling all around the world for good measure.

Win, or lose, Santorum adds a lot to the debates, but I hope he wins!

I think you're correct. As locally there are Ron Paul signs everywhere and kids in the street with Ron Paul signs screaming in activism for him. Very wealthy neighborhoods have Paul signs. It smells of the Obama machine.Only way they will win in any way is if these votes go back to Obama when Paul is done.

How is it that a longtime Wall Street Insider wants now to defend the campaign of strongly anti-Wall Street presidential candidate Ron Paul? Here begins what is perhaps to date among the strangest and winding roads of these ongoing Insider discussions…

Wall Street Insider: We Are At The Abyss – It is happening NOW

Oh, but I'm sure Ron Paul is clueless about this Soros funding, just as he was clueless about the nasty stuff in that little paper with his name at the top./ sarc!!

Even if we play devil's advocate and say that Paul doesn't know that Soros likes him, do we really, really want a President who is dumb as a box of rocks?

Well said and add the boots on the ground college kids cheering in streets for him. Also Paul’s foreign policy is bat s&it crazy! The only question is where do these leftist college kids that think he is an Obamamessiah go when Paul is done? Back to Obama, yet they succeed in stopping a Santorum or Gingrich beat Romney in some primaries.Gingrich and Perry were both in they’re glory beating Romney. If all support goes behind one we win!

“If there's any discredit due, it goes to those who continue the establishment meme: bigger government with meddling all around the world for good measure.”

You certainly are good at making excuses for Ron Paul. Oh oh, poor guy he couldn't get anything done because “we haven't sent anyone to help him out”. OOh poor Ron Paul, he just tries so hard but nothing is his fault, everything is our fault because we don't send enough people to help him.

Ron Paul was first elected to Congress in 1976. He is a committee chairman. He has much more seniority than most true conservatives who have actually accomplished things. Name one single piece of legislation Ron Paul has proposed that has passed and became law. Name a single accomplishment of the Committee he chairs.

Ron Paul has been part of the government for years. He is part of the Washington establishment. His tenure in Washington was precisely the time government became big, dysfunctional and out of control. He goes out attacks the government he is a part of and some people actually fall for it.

I for one don't believe in irresponsible, out of control government spending and I have nothing but contempt for hypocrites like Ron Paul who have been part of the problem and then pretend they have never been in Washington while all this is going on.

Do you support Iran like Ron Paul does? Do you think it is good that Iran is supplying IED’s that maim and kill our servicemen? Do you think it is good that Iran is developing nuclear weapons that it brags that it will use against Israel and the U.S.? Do you think it is good that the Iranian regime continually refers to America as the Great Satan?

Do you support the Code Pink foreign policy? Do you know if Ron Paul's foreign policy differs from that of Code Pink?

Do you support Occupy thugs disrupting events for Newt and Santorum? These Occupy thugs work for Ron Paul.

Think for a second. Why do you think Occupy leftists who are organized by the Obama Administration are working so hard to support Ron Paul. Why do you think the Soros funded group C.R.E.W. is working so closely with Ron Paul to spread lies about Santorum?

Ron Paul depends on his supporters being ignorant of his record and his activities. Please learn a little, think for yourself.

I am not inclined to judge legislators favorably in terms of the amount of legislation they can pass, or the amount of influence they can wield. In fact, that is one of the things that impresses me the most about Ron Paul. The legislation he *has* endorsed and proposed has been well-thought-out and reasonable; consistently conservative.

As for involvement in the affairs of other countries, we've asked for a spanking and received it. Unfortunately neither our State Department, nor our politicians, nor ignorant armchair pundits like yourself can man up and admit the mistake of what is essentially taking a fancy stick to a beehive and expecting adulation and obedience from the critters.

I don't know or care what Code Pink is about in any detail, but it would not surprise me to find their views in accord with those of Ron Paul to some degree. It is a concurrence on a purely logistical level, not on a philosophical level.

As for the behavior of OWS types, inasmuch as they are boorish, loud, obnoxious, and ignorant, I find them reprehensible, just as I find it reprehensible to suggest our leaders planned and executed the 9/11 attacks. So does Ron Paul.

“As for those who truly believe Ron Paul is working in tandem with George Soros to bring the country down, a tin foil hat is not good enough.”

Reeaaaaaallllly ? Are you really going there ?

Why is it $oros’ goons never attack RuPaul ? Why does the $oros-funded Code Pinko endorse him ? Then, there’s this little matter brought up by Glenn Beck (I don’t wanna ruin the surprise for ya, just click the link.)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4q1vYx1V3g

Ron Paul isn’t just a vicious Jew hater, he’s another $oros lackey. No end to his evil, that’s for sure.

Santorum, Gingrich, Perry.....I ain’t picky.

Newt’s my guy, but if Santorum or Perry wins, I’m in their corner without a moment’s hesitation. All three are solid.

In 2009, RuPaul was named the “Earmark King” of CONgress.

Kindly explain how that’s considered fiscally Conservative in any way, shape, or form.
