Ron Paul Campaign Uses Soros-funded Research

Rick Santorum told [1] Ron Paul in Saturday’s debate: “You should know better than to cite George Soros-like organizations.” The comment came in response to attacks on Santorum’s record from the Texas Congressman and libertarian running in the Republican presidential primaries.

Exposed for using Soros-funded research in an attack ad [2] charging that Santorum had been “one of the most corrupt” members of Congress, Paul had no explanation or response, except to say that “somebody” had done a survey attacking Santorum and he used it in the ad. The Ron Paul ad includes the line, “I’m Ron Paul and I approve this message.”

The exchange adds to Republican fears that Paul is trying to weaken or divide Republicans in order to guarantee Obama’s re-election.

The Soros organization alluded to by Santorum is the Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW). It is the source of the corruption charge against Santorum in the Ron Paul ad.

In the debate [3], Paul said that “…somebody did make a survey and I think he came out as one of the top corrupt individuals because he took so much money from the lobbyists.”

That “somebody” was CREW, a Soros-funded group that targets Republicans and conservatives.

Santorum shot back: “Let’s talk about the corruption issue. The person who—the group that called me corrupt was a group called CREW. If you haven’t been sued by CREW, you’re not a conservative. CREW is this left-wing organization that puts out a list every election of the top Republicans who have tough races and calls them all corrupt because they take contributions from PACs. It’s a ridiculous charge. And you should know better than to cite George Soros-like organizations to say that they’re corrupt.”

I can see why Libertarians like Soros and defend him against charges of being a socialist billionaire.

Soros open society calls for the legalization of drugs and legalized prostitution in America. There are... solid Libertarian principles.

CRW’s exec director Melanie Sloan, an attorney who worked with John Conyers on the Judiciary Committee back when Clinton was perjuring himself left and right. She was Biden’s snoop.

Mr Conyers was in Shakir al Khafaji’s “pay” so to speak, as was UNSCOM inspector Scott Ritter. Ritter received thousands from Khafaji to propagandize for the Iraqi regime via a documentary.

CREW hired Melanie Sloan to target Tom Delay; they crapped over Tom Delay using a Texas Democrat hack who, when his own background was looked into, was involved along with a host of other bigshots in some perverse cultlike group of wingnuts who get their jollies by slapping dead chickens in the woods and dance around fires pretending to be tribal males. To the extent Rick Santorum is a stronger proponent of big government than Ron Paul, I’d say George Soros and his CREW qualify as just another broken clock. As for those who truly believe Ron Paul is working in tandem with George Soros to bring the country down, a tin foil hat is not good enough.

CREW's deputy director Naomi Steiner was a communications director for Media Matters. Soros helped fund CREW through his Open Society Institute. The Tides Foundation is also involved, which explains the attack on the Swift Boat Vets.

Interesting - some of the Paulbots were also posting information from CREW the other week - now Ron Paul himself is using the material. His excuse is similar to the newsletters issue after being confronted. Some of us have long suspected Paul was just another side of the same coin as Obama, et al. This conduct, coupled with the recent find of his support of globalism / single world currency only seems to ad credence to this theory.
