Hmmmm....”second ex-wife “.

Wasn’t SHE a “Home-Wrecker”?

Go talk to Gloria All-red, madam...seems she has nothing to do, now that Herman Cain was lynched. She’ll listen to you when no one else will.

"So why do the other candidates continually steal his lead?"

Michele Bachmann: Gardasil! Gardasil!
She's gone.

Herman Cain: 9 9 9! 9 9 9!
He's gone.

Huntsman: 你好 !
He's gone.

Sarah Palin: fire in my belly!
Never even tried.

Santorum cannot defeat the OBIE... He is a rich field of attack opportunities for the lib media. I believe that Newt actually has a chance... in this case, his flaws may be in his favor.

I thought the impeachment of Bill Clinton had to do with lying under oath?

“. My guess is that Gingrich stepped all over Armey’s ego many times. But Armey was probably right to say that as speaker Newt lacked focus.”

I don’t know too much about it. There was so much going on when they were in charge of the House. It seemed we were really going places as far as reform. Then all hell broke loose with the Monica/Clinton situation which lasted forever. I guess there were some problems with Newt involving Bill Paxon too, whose wife came out with an ad today that was anti-Newt. Everything fell apart. Armey said in this interview, when asked if Newt was blackmailed by Clinton, that it was more like they just bonded because of their affairs. It’s hard to believe that we have vote to let any of these people control our lives but that’s the way it is. Some people envision using a fireman’s hose to cleanse DC but it wouldn’t change a thing. It’s Rome. It would be better if all government was just state and run like Texas.

>> Right. Explain “Contract With America” if Gingrich isn’t a conservative. <<

Alright. The "Contract With America" was a document written 18 years ago. It's primary author was Larry Hunter, with some additions from Robert Walker, Richard Armey, Bill Paxon, Tom DeLay, John Boehner, Jim Nussle, and Newt Gingrich (several of the aforementioned people -- especially Boehner -- who helped write The Contract With America are currently called "RINOs" by Newt's fans on FR, including false accusations that those "RINOs" were responsible for a "coup" that "removed" Gingrich in 1998)

Newt deserves due credit for at least being the most public advocate of the Contact With America 18 years ago, and his maneuvering was certainly a major reason why the GOP took control of Congress in Nov. '94. Unfortunately, little of the Contact was actually enacted into law and Gingrich alienated most of his conservative base after caving to Clinton, leaving office with lousy approval ratings when the GOP lost 3 more seats in '98.

Since that time, Newt has gotten even worse and done global warming "awareness" ads with Nancy Pelosi and "bipartisan education tours" with Al Sharpton. These are not the actions of a conservative (would YOU tour with Al Sharpton?)

Next question.

I don’t agree. Winston Churchill was a flawed man himself and I believe admitted so. All men and women are flawed. Such is the human condition. We have but to look at their actions married with their words... to have the inspiration to support(or not) the flawed humanity that seeks to lead us.

The daughters are the products of his first marriage. I don't know how much they know about the intimate details of Newt's relationship with their stepmother. It could be sexual, political, or something else.

I have said all along that Newt's personal baggage will come to the fore and so will the reprimand of him by the House, the first and only time that a sitting Speaker received some condemnation plus a financial penalty. The 137 page report from the Ethics committee will be fodder for Dem attacks should he get the nomination.

And for good reason. His actions against his own party’s platform confirm Bohner to be a RINO.

Are you saying his Dem sellouts are conservative?

But we’ve gone past that and abandoned that as a Nation, that the POTUS should be the Face of America. Reagan was the true last, then we got the Groin of America with the Krintons, then W tried to restore it, and now we have the Armpit of America.

Now we need a Junkyard Dog of America, a true rat-killer: hand-wringing about past fleas and ticks is pointless. End Mitt and End Zero, then we can get back to ethereals.

perfectly said! Newt is the architech of conservatism. I remember hearing his Renewing American Civilization on the radio years ago. His perceptive wisdom have made America a lot better already.

Newt Gingrich is the Winston Churchill of our time.

He just might be. He's looking more and more like the only one with the guts to speak out and take the fight right to the enemy.

He's sure showin' me something... and I like it.

Newt cannot handle the Presidency and we should have the judgment to see that. I think a year ago there would have been a consensus of FReepers to agree on that. But since he is excellent at debating, it tricks us into thinking he should win. Presidenting ain’t debating.

We cannot trust Newt. I’d vote for him if I had to. But he will implode sooner or later. Later, as our President, is worse than now, when we can still have one of those Ricks.
