Glenn to pro-Gingrich caller: “Throw my books away”
Glenn Beck Website ^ | January 19, 2012 | Glenn Beck

Posted on 01/20/2012 7:37:34 AM PST by Bevo

A caller called in and accused Glenn of drinking the “Mitt Romney Kool-Aid” and let’s just say that it did not go over well at all. The caller, clearly pro-Gingrich, got an earful from Glenn over his statements. While he was a fan who claimed to have all of Beck’s books, he clearly hadn’t read or listened to anything Glenn has said over the past few months and years.

“I’m drinking the Mitt Romney Kool-Aid by saying that I would vote for Rick Santorum?” Glenn asked.

As the caller tried to say that Glenn went after Gingrich’s anti-Romney ads, Glenn told him those attacks were full of “lies”. And when he finally admitted to the fact that he was pro-Newt, Glenn lost it.

“Throw my books away. I’ve obviously not influenced your life at all. I want you to throw every book I’ve written, throw it away,” Glenn said. “If you haven’t learned what a progressive is, throw them away. You never will.”

“Look, is there anything that’s more important to learn from me, and if you disagree, then you disagree. But is there anything more important to learn from me in the last few years than the evils of progressivism? The evils of Woodrow Wilson, Theodore Roosevelt and Andrew Jackson.”

“Because Newt Gingrich disagrees with me,” Glenn told the caller.

AdvertisementWhen the caller tried to tell him everyone had a flaw, Glenn told him to get off the phone.

“This is ridiculous. They all have their flaws. Have you even listened to a word of this show in the last two years about character making a difference, about the truth has no agenda, that you have to let the chips fall where they may; that you can’t dismiss warning signs, that you have to take people at face value on what they actually do and say?”

“That is a guy who is an absolute blind supporter of Newt Gingrich,” Pat said.

“Actually IMO Romney’s record puts him to the right of Gingrich (not far enough, but still to the right. Glenn’s got it right about Gingrich’s past. (not sexual, but political)”

What????? Are you serious??? RomneyCare puts him to the RIGHT of Newt? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Surely you jest.

Am I to assume that you’re rooting for Mittens over Newt??

I’ll go out on a limb here, but Newt converted to Catholicism and Glen is a former Catholic who renounced his faith and thus is now a Mormon. Might have something to do with his dislike for the guy, might not. I think Glen is slowly going off the deep end. Were it not for Pat and Stu who I think are hilarious, I probably would not listen to the show.

I don't agree with Beck completely here, because Newt has praised many historical figures, not all of whom were "Progressive", Newt does not praise all "Progressives", for example I don't hear him say glowing things about LBJ, and because "Progressive" is a relative term - what's "Progressive" in one century might be "Conservative" in another."

BRAVO! Finally someone said it.

When and why did the word "Progressive" become such a horrible thing? If we were not a progressive people where would we be?

Did you not read my post????? Newt added trillions in unfunded liabilities(and lobbied for tens of trillions more once outside of government/speaker).and he never balanced any Budget unless you count raiding Social security.

Your first argument is he cut spending.False.

Your second is he balanced budgets. this is false.(all the SS money he used was an intergovermental debt or IOU that adds to our debt...by definition if you are adding debt then you are not in balance)

Your third is he is better than the other candidates and we must settle now despite the convention being over sixth months away. This is false. There is plenty of time for a new candidate to get in. (I don’t want anyone from Washington)

Your fourth is that Newt is electable. False and I shouldn’t even have to go there as to why he is unelectable.
(real conservatives will react to him the same way as they Did to McCain but without the respect for the man...independents will treat Newton far worse)

His show has become unlistenable.

It's been that way for a long, long time.

Progressivism is an umbrella term for a political ideology advocating or favoring social, political, and economic reform or changes through the state. Progressivism is often viewed by its advocates to be in opposition to conservative or reactionary ideologies.

Beck uses the word "progressive". I prefer "statist" or "secular humanist". There is only one non-statist in the race and it's not Rick-No-Santorum-Left-Behind, it's not Newt-Global-Warming-Gingrich and it's certainly not Mitt-Romneycare.

You are full of CRrrrap!

You are purposely picking someone who is acceptable but who is clearly not going to go much further.

At the point Rick drops out you are going to obviously pull a Huntsman and through your name behind Mitt.

You ain’t fooling no one.

Cry baby.....Schtick.

I think you’re right.

Beck is on a dry drunk. His grandiosity is blatant.

This AM he actually called Newt a “Dirtbag”.

You didn’t take Glenn out of context, Ladysmith.

Less than an hour ago, Glenn said he would vote third party if Newt is the nominee.

I got so disgusted upon hearing that comment from Glenn that I switched my radio dial to a classic rock and roll / pop music station. Glenn is going off the deep end.

Should we pay attention to voters like you, who are trying to convince everyone Texas has never REALLY been a state because of some esoteric oversight in the ratification process?

...he is not going to be the President you think he he will

This is so true of every choice and it's so demotivating. I think Dr. Paul would be true to himself although I will concede that he could be a colossal disaster in the unlikely event that Iran nukes us or in the likely event that he nukes the unconscionably evil Fed.

Sadly I think it's now a time for choosing our colossal chastising disaster.

I miss funny Beck,too.
When he did stuff like moron trivia.

Oh, yeah, it's real funny to mock people who just don't happen to be up on the latest pop culture trends. It's real funny to mock people who are out there working for an honest living at a low paying job, instead of sitting on their asses waiting for the next government check. Hey, Beck makes much more than they do pumping hot air through a microphone, and he thinks its simply hilarious that there are so many "morons" out there that aren't in his class. And it's really, really funny when he lies to them about who he is and what his game is.

"Romney, Crazy Ron Paul, and Santorum, who has done the most to balance budgets?

That is to easy a question, Ron Paul hands down. Only Paul has consistently been voting for small honest constitutional government. Paul is the only small government candidate running.
