The point is that the “Decleration of Independence” not being a part of Sacared Scripture has no ‘right’ to speak about what God has granted.

I realize it’s politically advantageous for Newt to speak about the moon program being in Florida. But Newt said himself 90% of what he proposes would be private sector focused.

Newt is trying to tease out the idea of AMERICANS achieving these dreams ...not government controlling those dreams. As president, he’d urge us on ... he’d do his job, and we could be released to do ours.

Romney just behaves as if he’d be the gatekeeper of all ideas and that if HE thought it was a bad idea, it coudln’t get done. He can just buzz off.

Well, Perry was ahead of everybody, and then he wasn’t. Then Cain was ahead of everybody, and then he wasn’t, and before that he was polling 4%. Newt was written off by good conservatives and the rest of the electorate back in May, and polled horribly, and then one day all the Cain people decided to love Newt, and now he is ahead of everybody.

If He suddenly ISN’T ahead of everybody, maybe his supporters will jump to Santorum, and Santorum can take his turn in front of everybody.

Why was it completely possible for Newt to suddenly jump to the front after languishing, but impossible for Santorum to do the same? He was actually coming on pretty good in South Carolina before Newt’s ex-wife attacked him, and Newt won the wife-nagging sympathy vote.

No, because we are all stupid compared to Newt. He’s the smartest man in the world, that’s how he got to be a history major.

With all the speculation lately of Santorum dropping out and supporting Romney, how do you know it’s not Romney he’s taking a bite out of. If you’re a Newt supporter and you still want to win and you’re guy still is polling in the 30’s and not that far away, what sense does it make to give your vote to a guy who’s in the teens?

Because Newt has follow through with his speeches and the fact that he pushed for Contract with America all the way until it was signed into law by a Dem prez. All Santorum had to do was cast his vote.

So you think you have an inalienable right to own any arm including a nuclear arm?

I never said that.

Do you think there is no inalienable right to own a gun?

Newt’s answer on Palestinians ...a HOME RUN!!!

Soon-to-be President Gingrich's closing statement about why he's the best person to beat Obama was a GRAND SLAM, a HAT TRICK and a 3-POINT SHOT all in one.

Obama is utterly doomed and Newt Gingrich will be the man to rid America of this pestilence.

Go Newt Go! Rebellion is in full swing!

btw...were Newt to wake up in the morning, says he’s old and tired and we need a young man and quit and endorse Rick and give him all his campaign cash which Rick would desperately need

I think I can safely say we would all follow his lead to Rick...almost to a man or woman on this forum

but that is unlikely

why would someone with twice the support in national polls do such a thing?

Actually Newt had some good answers but they really didn’t go to Conservative philosophy question which is where he shines.

Pray for America

Because they’d think Newt can’t make it through all the attacks and his debate performance wasn’t as amazing as it was hyped up to be.

it almost seemed as if Wolf Blitzer was “feeding” the questions into Mitt who had his rehearsed answers at the ready.

Oh yes...and CNN even stated after that "Wolf" was the "other" winner against Newt. Can you believe it!

I'll be looking forward to Newt's responses tomorrow but he's sure been taking more than just heat this week....am just praying he comes out of the Primary ALIVE!

Not to be rude or anything but Jacksonville was the jury pool for the Casey Anthony trial....who was found “not guilty”.

What does Casey Anthony have to do with Jacksonville? The jury wasn't from Jacksonville. The trial was in Orlando and the jurors were picked from Pinellas County.

I warned of this. That Newt gave away his weakness when he said he wanted audience participation. They figured out how to counter.

Not to pick nits, but you do know that the “contract with america” wasn’t a contract, didn’t pass, and wasn’t signed by anybody, right?

It was a set of 10 principles, a few of which made it into bills, and a couple of which did get signed, while most did not.

Anyway, it’s not going to be decided by comments here. If Newt has staying power, the polls will turn around and he’ll win. If not, he’ll keep slipping in the polls and will lose.

We’ve already lost Perry too early. We need Santorum in the race so if Newt self-destructs by making up friends, by using liberal arguments, or for any other reason, we’ll still have SOMEONE to vote for other than Ron Paul.

One thing I think people are missing. Before the “non-Romney” choice became clearly Newt, a lot of people were on the sidelines, clearly NOT supporting Romney. Newt scares some of them enough that they came out FOR Romney. If Santorum had been the one to take the lead, I doubt HALF those “establishment” people would have spoken against him and for Romney.

Newt is the one candidate on our side that actually pushes some people TO Romney. That’s not a reason to oppose Newt, obviously. But it’s a reason to at least be prepared for Newt to collapse, and for us to need another candidate in 2 weeks. I wish that other candidate was Rick Perry. (If Perry was still here instead of Newt, my Governor wouldn’t have endorsed Romney for example).

But it’s not Rick Perry, so Santorum better stick around. Sorry that this “splits the vote” — clearly though there are a lot of conservatives who hate Gingrich enough that they would rather split the vote and vote for Santorum, KNOWING that helps Romney.

If every conservative currently supporting Gingrich voted for Santorum, it would do the job just as well as having all Santorum supporters vote for Gingrich. The argument seems to be that since fewer have to switch if Santorum quits, he should quit. But what will Gingrich people argue if by next week Gingrich isn’t polling so well?

I guess Perry could always jump back in. He is on the ballot already.

There may be more high tech around than you think: It even significantly affects items as seemingly mundane as loudspeakers (though I’ll grant you that speakers with nanotube cones are not in my budget range!)

However, you are absolutely right: The sciences and math are not given enough attention in our present educational system, and there is relatively little “out there” to encourage interest. Even Star Trek in the various series always had an engineer who was often a hero in his own way — and THAT Trek has gone by the wayside, with no real replacement. We live in a world of miracles at every turn, yet few stop to think of or appreciate how those miracles came to be, or how the changing needs of the future will be fulfilled. Every perceptive person I know in the “tech” fields outside of computer software is worried about (as a whole) the next generation’s incompetence, and what it means for the U.S. It used to be that the worry was staying ahead of those coming up!

Sorry but you lose me on this one.

I LOVE SPACE stuff. ALL of it.

It is a breath of fresh air in a way to depressing state of our country. We NEED something to look forward to and this is it for me!
