FYI.

Words fail me when garbage like this actually gets published in a newspaper.

of course this means that if you a non-white then racism is very easy to see because everything bad that happens to you and everything that does not go your way is due to racism- just ask the race baiters...

“I realized that even though my father had literally put blood, sweat and tears into farming land in southwestern Minnesota, that had he been Native American or African American his parents probably wouldn’t have even owned land in the first place. And my life would have been much different.”

any black American or native American that puts blood, sweat and tears into farming land or any other occupation will have something to hand down to their kids...my dad was NYPD for 23 years during a time when cops made nothing...he worked second and third jobs regularly because he had to in order to make ends meet....this is why i now work 5-6-7 days a week as i learned my work ethic from him...

its not a matter or being white, black, green or blue its a matter of doing what is necessary to ethically get where you wnt to go....then again its much easier to cry “racism!” rather than work 7 days a week...

It can be hard to see racism if you’re white

Yeah, first of all you have to be looking for it under every rock so you have something to blame for your abject failure in life, and to justify wrapping yourself in a comfy cocoon of permanent "victimhood".

Some people are, basically, trained to see discrimination. Look up college courses or essays on “microaggression” and you’ll see what I mean.

If we al took training like this, or lived in a culture that constantly looked for discrimination, the move up- move back issue would come out quite different.

A white who did not get an apartment is going to look somewhere else. A black will automatically assume that the reason they didn’t get it was their skin color, most often in the complete absense of evidence.

It DOES happen to blacks and Spanish-speaking people, but I’ll guess nowhere near as often as the “victims” think.

That article is the most racist drivel I have seen in quite a while. She is blatantly saying that if ones melanin content is different from hers, people are automatically unable to succeed.
If that’s not the most ugly, racist, bigoted point of view I have recently seen. I bet she fails to apply that to red heads and that makes it even worse.

I being white and having to traverse through black neighborhoods to get to school in my youth have experienced racism pointed at me many times. I don't blame the offending race for what I had to go through. I blame the racist individuals who did it to me.

I got to where I am in life through hard work. I will never apologize for my success.

So how does Affirmative Action help?

The result is, when a black person truly does achieve success, a lot of people will only think they got there because of Affirmative Action, or some other quota-based program...how does that help race relations?

The idea that the world is out to get blacks is bullshit, but it's a self fulfilling prophecy. That's the problem. If you're white and you're denied a loan, you try, try again. If you're black and you're denied a loan, you chalk it out to racism. They're taught that the deck is stacked against them so they don't persevere the way other races do. Their so-called leaders are more to blame for their plight than white racism because they perpetuate the myth.

Step back if you ever watched a black colleague receive a promotion or other benefit at work based exclusively on “diversity” programs. Step back even further if other people were more qualified for that promotion or benefit.

Step back if your employer has ever had a special month that is designated exclusively to recognize black people but has no such month for white people.

Step back if your employer goes soft on workplace problems caused by black people because they don’t want to seem racist.

Step back if you had ever been sneered at in public by black people whom you have never seen before and seem to hate you because you are whote.

Step forward if you expect to receive slavery reparation payments someday.

Step forward if you expect to receive special government incentives for your business because you are black.

Step back if you’ve ever been denied a scholarship because you aren’t black.

Step back if you’ve ever been taunted by black punks in parking lot for driving your car in the wrong neighborhood.

Step forward if you have ever used the race card at school or at work because you know white people fall all over themselves at the mere allegation of racism.

Let's not blame the reporterette.

She's growing into a fine little liberal.

She's learning how to hate herself.

Naomi Yaeger-Bischoff, even with the moronic hyphenated name, I hope you realise what a massive disappointment you have been to both your parents and grandparents. Take a walk around some parts of Philadelphia by yourself in the evening some time and then tell us all about prejudice.

It’s obviously politically correct on FR to ridicule this article but I happen to believe that its essential point is true. I *think* even if you were to ask conservative blacks like Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Alan Keyes, they would likely say that they have experienced racism. I also think that if you ask all sorts of blacks in America they would report the same thing. This is not the same thing as saying that there isn’t imagined or made up racism. There is. There is also real racism. To deny it is to deny reality.

I don’t go from there to then say we should have affirmative action. We shouldn’t. That’s just compounding the problem.

But come on people - racism isn’t something like the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus - it’s alive and well. It’s not as pervasive as it once was, it’s not as accepted as it once was, it’s not an excuse for every failing.

But, to cite but one example, there *is* such a thing as Driving While Black. To pretend otherwise is foolishness.

...step back if you had ever been followed around a store. Step forward if you expect to inherit at least a little money when your parents die. Step back if you’ve ever been denied housing because of your race. Step back if you worried that your hairstyle was too “ethnic” for an employer...

Step forward if you have ever been thrilled that a brother got away with a brutal double murder.

The gullible amongst us - notibly the geeky, left-wing media types - would make good subjects for a carny hypnotist...they are so subject to suggestion and innuendo that they'll believe anything.

In reality, we all have our own road in life, and sitting down and waiting for a ride won't always get you there.

The sole object of obamanism is to strip the rich (code word for 'whites' of all they have and transfer it to the poor (code word for "blacks"). He can preach "rich" and "poor" all day, and except for an "exceptable" number of tokens, that is the way it works out.

I'm white and it's not hard for me to see "racism", I see it everytime Jesse Jackson,Al Sharpton, Shiela Jackson-Lee, Clymer, oprah, and yes, obama, appear and speak. They bellow out that the whites are the "haters", yet 90% of the whites I see are smiling and of good humor, working, and living up to their responsibilities, while 90% of the blacks I see are scowling, pouting, bitching and complaining...all the signs of the real "haters".
