Well if Bill Ayers has his way then our lives WILL be on the line.
He’s the one that called for the extermination of 25 million Christians as a start to a Marxist revolution in the US.

Well said!
I believe that what the real issue we are facing is the rebellion in the ranks of the Republican Party. Those lining up on either side are not necessarily lining up behind a person but behind a set of ideals they believe are vital for conservatives.
Since last night I’m starting to believe Obama’s 2nd term chances have increased. Due to the establishments effort to control the process the rebellion is now going to be taken up a notch (or two or three). I have said before that this primary season isn’t about vetting the best candidate, it’s about who is going to ultimately have control of the party. I use to think a brokered convention would not happen...now I’m not so sure. The repub establishment is making a brokered convention more likely due to their insistance on having us accept “their” choice.
It is a “fine line” we are all walking right now...

I don't use ploys. My intent was to demonstrate that no matter what a politician tells you, they are generally not anywhere near as honest, as smart, or as moral as they would have you believe. Basically actions speak louder than words. Morality can never really be determined unless one happens to be a mind reader, however we can derive something based from their actions. Further their purported "morality" isn't as important as those actions they make while in office.

In terms of voting record while in office who best demonstrated conservative values? Other than voting record how effective were they in conducting The People's business? How does their rhetoric match their actions? Finally is there anything they have done out of office that mitigates what they have done while in office?

Based on these criteria "personal baggage" may or may not be of much help determining "morality". Further we can see that some mushy measure of "Morality" isn't a precursor to effectiveness in office nor is it an effective way to determine how someone will vote.

What it basically comes down to is a careful weighing of positive and negative actions. I'm a sinner so I'm not fit to judge another soul, but I'm fit enough to determine how I will vote. Mitt Romney for example doesn't appear to have ever committed adultery or at least it didn't result in a divorce. Do I think he is more moral that Newt Gingrich? No, not by a long shot. Romney has made a career of telling people what they want to hear and then once in office being a liberal...and it doesn't matter that he has been happily married all his life or not. Lying and liberalism are not moral and that immorality far outweighs his purported marital fidelity.

As another example take Rick Santorum who calls himself the "True Conservative". Is his the most conservative voting record? Was he the most effective forwarding the conservative agenda? Does his rhetoric match his actions? Do his actions out of office mitigate his actions while in office? Santorum falls far short of being the "true" conservative by this criteria.

I doubt that I've changed your mind as I've been here long enough to know that it isn't likely.

I suspect there are many on this line who know ... alot about the money they receive from a certain candidate.

Pardon my ignorance but, I have no idea what you mean. Please explain. Who receives money from which candidate?

I am dealing with the probabilities of Newts chances of being elected.

Me, too. The 1990s weren't so long ago. People who didn't know squat and/or couldn't care less about politics knew only that they personally hated Newt, even if they didn't know why.

Some lost it all, even though we did win. John Hart, for one.

OK, I got no idea what you mean by changing my mind? What part did you mean to change? I’ve stated a number of times, as a resident of Virginia, I’ll vote for Dr. Paul in the primary and whoever, in the election. Do you think I should vote for Romney instead?

I admit I fall into the first of the two categories, as I was not paying attention to politics in the 90's, though I would not say that I hated Newt.

Then I listened to Newt speak, unfiltered by the media. He was brilliant, and I became a Newt fan, as well as a Republican.

I miss the Newt of '94, I wish in many ways we could get him back instead of the Newt we have now.

What does the last line of your response mean then?

Change my mind about what?

Talk about changing the topic, you said it!

Read your comment that I responded to. I was under the impression that was the topic but apparently I was mistaken and it was really about who you were going to vote for. Silly me.

This how you "converse" generally. It's not fun for me so again have a nice whatever, wherever.

This is something every candidate, nominee or president should feel, think and say to the people of this country.

THAT was sooo impressive!

Do you think for just one post you could possibly Tell us what Newt Gingrich has done in his history that would warrant such an attitude?

There sure are a lot of people on this thread with very little to say about Newt Gingrich except snide remarks with little facts.

I double dare ya to take it to the Man that owns this site!
