I'm so sick of this worship of Thomas Jefferson by so many "conservatives." Why don't these people just admit that they want the Articles of Confederation back and that the Constitution was a "Communist plot?"
Hell no, I’m not a Romney backer but I also see this for what it was—and extremely close election where every vote counted. The mentality here on FR has become the mentality of victimhood. Everyone wants to be a victim. There were no victims in the Iowa caucus. I know you want it to be that way and you won’t be happy without being a victim and you are not listening.
I want you to again read the words of Craig Robinson from today’s theiowarepublican.com. Craig was the one leading the charge to have Strawn removed from his chairmanship. Today’s words make me wonder if he thinks he may have gone too far but, again, here are his words: ‘While Iowa has been put through the ringer recently with the results process, the truth of the matter is that 75 percent of the precincts in Iowa are run flawlessly. The other 24.5 percent of the precincts make tiny errors that are easily caught. The remaining half percent either didn’t fill out or lost a piece of paper.”
All ballots were counted, there were some misplaced Form Es. You have access to all the numbers and no one is disputing them.

We are not asking for 100% pure conservative candidate, hell 50% would be nice and with Romney you don’t even get that.

And these are just the basic requirements and he can’t meet those and we are supposed to say what the hell screw even our most basic principles of conservatism and AGAIN vote for yet another liberal POS.
It isn’t explicitly black and white. I was attempting to, as briefly as possible, to give examples above of what I meant. Again, it is hard to overstate that when that much power, money and influence is at stake, the lengths to which people will go to in order to obtain and hold onto it. One big reason why we should never let these same folks hold office or take them seriously as candidates after years and years on the scene. That’s the simplistic version, of course. Why we must be eternally vigilant to keep certain individuals and groups from power that threaten to destroy this country who hail from both parties.
Everyone is counting on the primitive bandwagon effect. In this case a $20 million bandwagon. Let’s just keep our heads on straight and refuse to be bamboozled.
Anyone who aspires to understand modern American political cuture must be able to understand “Animal House”.

The dependence is 100% mutual and both sides know it, so it's a win-win partnership that has survived these past 80 years. I don't find any down side to that. We are, after all, co-dependent with many countries. As least the Saudis have proved themselves through thick and thin these past 80 years.
Our military is there, in large numbers, an UNHEARD OF thing in ANY other Arab and/or Muslim country. They trust us because we have proven our trust to them as well.
Those who supported it in the 1800’s very much so desired our education system to be modeled after the Prussian system. And the founders of the Prussian system very publicly proclaimed the above as their ‘mission statement’.

There are the right and the left, as you say... but also the statist and the individualist.
A leftist that thinks everything is best left up to the individual instead of a massive, powerful central government is much easier to tolerate. And for the left, the same goes for a conservative that believes the same.
It’s when politicians expand the size, scope, power, and authority of the central government... that politics gets vicious. As then, you can’t afford to lose - for if you do, you will then be forced to obey the whims of your political enemy.

You would think that the targets of these efforts are President Barack Obama and Democratic Party officeholders who are hell-bent on turning America into a financially broken, post-constitutional, Washington-controlled playground safe only for crony capitalists and regulators gone wild. You would be wrong.
In Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Utah, to name just four, state GOP establishments are laboring mightily to marginalize the millions of constitutional conservatives whose activist energy (but not their outlook) dates back to the beginnings of the Tea Party movement three years ago.
