Santorum Sweep: Should Mitt quit?
Charleston (WV) Daily Mail ^ | February 8, 2012 | Don Surber

If you cannot put away a 98-pound weakling who is clinging to the ropes, maybe you should be the one who packs it in.

Republican Rick Santorum swept the Midwest on Tuesday in 3 primaries and caucuses that covered the territory Republicans must win in order to defeat Barack Obama on November 6, 2012, and rescue this nation from socialism. Santorum’s overwhelming victories in Colorado (40%), Missouri (55%) and Minnesota (45%) were stunning victories after Mitt Romney seemed to sew up the nomination a week earlier in Florida. I have been saying that Rick Santorum is more electable than Mitt Romney having won statewide races in Pennsylvania twice. Taking on Tuesday 3 states the party needs certainly is encouraging.

However, Republicans face some problems with enthusiasm. You look at the number of people who voted and you see Rick Santorum won by default in two of the three states, not a good sign. Recent economic news has favored President Obama. While voting was up by 18% in Colorado compared to 2008, the vote was down by about that amount in Minnesota and cut in half over 2008 in Missouri.

It’s exciting to see conservatives putting wrenches in the establishment’s pre-ordained plans. They did their usual song and dance of arranging the calendar and lining up the endorsements for Romney. All the debates and the people voting have changed the game and in reality, neither they nor we know what’s going to happen next. That’s very healthy.

And it’s being shown that Romney supresses turnout.

He should quit. Then he can run on the Dem ticket in 2016, where he belongs.

Bing or google FOX hires Sally Khon. How the left can say FOX is conservative just shows their ignorance. Either establishment figures or total loons front the fringe left and this Khon woman I've given up on FOX, there are no more decent shows or people left on the network

Mitt leads the delegate count and Newt is in second. Big government conservative Santorum wins three states and he gets delegates from two and now every pundit believes he’s unstoppable and inevitable. LOL

—And if it is Romney, the progs will paint a very nasty picture of the Mormon faith.—

I guess every cloud has a silver lining. I’m not being “cute”. This is all bigger than right here, right now. It may be God’s plan to use this to expose Mormonism for what it is. I understand they are already in a membership crisis as people are able to gain easy access, via the internet, to information about mormonism’s history and what it teaches.

I believe it is even hitting the kids in mormon families hard.

Remember, VIRGINIA already belongs to Mitt. Santorum and Newt are not even qualified on their ballot.

Which is why I'll probably vote for Ron Paul...shudder!!!

I believe people may have lacked passion to vote because we are told Mitt has it sown up and Newt is our second choice. If you believe the spin, and you aren’t hard headed like me, you might just not care to vote thinking it won’t matter. But Rick’s supporters stayed the course and it paid off. I know a lot of people that like Rick A LOT but until now, it seems that he didn’t have a chance. Not crazy about the other choices at all. I may have to send Rick a donation today. GO RICK!

Having seen one of the Ron Paul PAC anti-Newt ads this morning I doubt the democrats could possibly get anymore base and personal, it was still filled with absolute distortions. RP fits the term RINO perfectly, what the hell is he doing in our primary? He is a Trojan Horse if there ever was one. Of course I will now be flamed and have his SANE ideas layed out before me again by the paulbots while they ignore the insanity. Let me hear about the dope, prostitution, anti-semitism, support from stormfront, and foreign affairs, and why he changed from open borders to closing borders.

Maybe Romney is going for the “my dad was blue color” because he came from Mexico vote.
If Romney gets the nomination the choice will be between a guy who wants to be god and a guy who thinks he already is.
Romney is a phoney, a shyster, a fraud.
I am completely baffled how anyone who calls themselves a conservative can support this guy.
I wish Gingrich and Santorum would gang up on Romney.
Romney is going to be out to destroy Santorum and continue his bogus attacks on Gingrich.
I loath Romney.

Not so fast there ..... I don't know a single person who is voting for Mitt. Everyone I know is going to vote for the NOT-Romney candidate on the ballot (Ron Paul). The 'NOT-Romney movement' is picking up steam. It should be interesting to see what happens.

Mitt was hilarious last night, trying to have us believe his father was a blue collar drywall contractor who could spit nails!

Did he work in a mill too? And moonlighted in the coal mines? Gee, he's as phony and transparent as John Edwards.

Four states to two...yep, that about wraps it up./sarc.

Mitt’s camp had the campaign over after Iowa...then the votes were counted and he lost. Then after NH, yep, Mitt has this sewn up, everyone else quit...then he lost BIG in SC. Then he wins Florida...and the ‘throw in the towel’ cries chant yet again. And now this... HAHAHAHA...

The tin ear campaign people and the media had better take another look...it ain’t Mitt...

Mitt will go broke trying to beat 0bama if his spending habits continue without results...dullard Willard.

“There is clearly a hunger and a market for honest news and honest conservative news.”

I agree. We need a news service that is unashamedly conservative. You can be fair and balanced without giving in on basic principles while still defending freedom and the constitution. It could be done.

I’ve stopped watching Fox completely.

Santorum has the same problem Willard the liberal has. He can’t win in the South. This was proven in SC where Gingrich crushed him and Romney. All the negative ads were from Romney against Newt and he still crushed him. No negative ads were ran against Santorum and he was beaten badly, even by Romney.

Right now Newt is the only candidate that can win in the South. Santorum can’t, but can if Newt gets out and endorses him and campaigns with him. Willard the liberal can forget about winning any Southern state. Aint gonna happen. And don’t tell me Florida is a Southern state. Only part of Florida that is Southern is north Florida and Gingrich won that part of the state.

“(Romney) trails Obama in Virginia in the latest Quinnipiac poll, 47-43%.”

That doesn't surprise me after the VA GOP elites got a little too “cute” in gerrymandering their primary so that only Romney and Dr. Paul are on the ballot and no write-ins are allowed.

The people of the “Old Dominion,” “The Birthplace of Presidents,” do not take kindly to tyranny; no matter whom the source may be; thus, “Sic Semper Tyrannis;” the Commonwealth's state motto.

PROTEST VOTE RON PAUL IN THE VIRGINIA GOP PRIMARY!!!

GO NEWT!!!
