Rush Limbaugh mocks GOP establishment
Politico ^ | 02-08-12 | MJ Lee

Posted on 02/08/2012 12:20:41 PM PST by Lazlo in PA

Rush Limbaugh mocked the Republican establishment on his radio show Wednesday for being “shocked” by Rick Santorum’s three-state win, saying, “I can’t believe how insulated they are.”

“They’re literally shocked. The Republican establishment had no idea this was percolating out there. I can’t believe how insulated they are,” Limbaugh said. “To look at the reaction they’re having today, to see how shocked they are that Rick Santorum has come out of what they thought was an impossible position equivalent to nowhere, is an incredible thing.”

The “drive-bys” – a term that Limbaugh has coined for the media – have been crediting the conservative radio talker for Santorum’s trifecta victory Tuesday by spreading around the notion that “the Republican base is a bunch of mind-numbed robots sitting out there waiting for marching orders from me,” the conservative radio show host said.

“First it was Newt, now it’s Santorum. It can’t be the candidates. It can’t be that Santorum’s connecting with voters. It can’t be that, no, no, it can’t be that Santorum’s resonating with Republican voters, the conservative base. It can’t be that the conservative base just isn’t happy with Romney. It can’t be any of that. No, no, no,” he said, according to a transcript of the show.

Karl Rove was on FOX last night with Brett Baier’s special election coverage. Poor Karl looked so sad..... I felt sorry for him. (Chuckle, chuckle..... yeah; right.)

I'd feel a lot better about him if he'd repudiate his part in the Specter debacle.

I can forgive someone for blinking when all the guns are pointed at them.

I can't trust someone who won't admit he blinked.

Wish I would have listened to his show today.

I’ve been waiting for a day like today for a very long time!!! Where the voters decide and show the elite, both GOP & media, that hey don’t tell us how we’re going to vote.

And the BEST part it was such a HUGE percentage, not single digits!

Conservatives are fed up with being told that the moderate or liberal GOP establishment canidate is the only one electable...we are bound and determined to run a conservative and that works for me!

Rush did everything but actually endorse Santorum today. He said that Santorum was the guy with no skeletons, who never sat on a couch with nancy pelosi...he said he was the last conservative standing.

Rush is being careful because this primary battle has been so divisive, he wants some credibility as a peacemaker when it's all over and we have to come together behind out candidate. But even so any question about who he wants to see win should have been answered today.

I all with Rush piling on the establishment. Trying to foist Romney on us isn't working.

But the problem is the other three are all weak and all beating each other up. Our candidate is Not Romney. How do we win with that?

Karl looked like he ate a basket of rotten eggs last night. I relished every minute of his discomfort.

To quote my candidate..."I am not the conservative alternative to Mitt Romeny. I am running as the conservative alternative to barack obama!"

Karl felt better after he put on his flying monkey costume and strategized sleazy adverts with head Romney Witch Ann Coulter...

OK. But do we really think a guy who has been out of the public eye for six years and whose last political act was losing a Senate race by double digits can defeat the Barry/MSM machine?

Rick Santorum on the Glenn Beck Show

Rick Santorum was the second candidate to get air time today on Beck’s show and again, another great interview. The biggest things they discussed were Santorum’s support for Arlen Specter which he defended because of the SCOTUS, his previous earmark support which he says was constitutional, and bombing Iran to prevent them from getting nukes.

Another freeper (Kaslin) wrote in another thread that the reason for supporting Specter was that Specter was the chairman for the Judiciary Committee and the nominations of Alito and Robers were at stake. This would satisfy me, I guess. If this is the reason, it would be nice to hear Santorum say it.
