Are those acts suppose to give immunity from violations of our civil rights committed under the color of authority?

What do you think and why would you think that I would say yes to such a foolish question? What does my post have to do with the question you are framing? Why would you jump to conclusions regarding my post?

According to some FReepers you should stop your bitchin because no one forced you to become a cop.

they remind me of a bunch of feral animal gang members....kicking at someones head while several people hold the victim down...

what is this...a power trip for these cops?...I mean I'd like them to really get into a fray when the supposed bad guys outnumber them.....they seem to only get big and tough when they outnumber their victims....

IMO, we need something like "Not Guilty, With Prejudice" (against the authorities). i.e. Paying of defendant's legal fees, automatic fine, loss of rank or outright termination for the officer(s), plus automatic fines levied against the PD.

Tell me about it!

I would have liked nothing better than to have been able to ask some questions of the police testifying.

Quick example: the cops said they were out of their area because they smelled smoke and were looking for a fire.

if you know anything about this part of Florida, there's damn near ALWAYS something burning between April and September! Saying you smelled smoke in a Florida summer is like saying it was warm out.

Because you foolishly claim many on FR won't give credit where credit is due regarding heroic conduct of the police.

"...There are many on FR who ignore all of the acts of bravery and self sacrifice of good Cops as if they don't happen or never existed," ring any bells for ya?

That's why.

Yes, there are bad cops, terrible cops and worse. They should be fired and prosecuted...

But they're not, barring extraordinary evidence of extraordinary malfeasance! And therein lies the extreme hostility against police when they get caught.

Expressions of "what should" happen to bad cops are as useless as terror denunciations from CAIR.

‘$109,000 for a cop?? Please....” -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Why not?

Because they are paid from the public dole.

That is an asinine poster and insults the memories of the thousands that died that day.

“Because they are paid from the public dole.”

As are Congress, school superintendants, mayors, many highway toll takers, and city clerks etc.

Are they worth what they are being paid? In many cases the answer is a resounding "No". Why select the police for criticism?

Mears,

You made a list of public employees. Well I will stand up and criticize every blessed one of them, and add to that every other category of worthless public service employee.

Everyone of them made a concise choice to become a consumer. PRODUCERS have my respect. Consumers my contempt. Whether they be private sector or public sector. All the spectators sitting on the sideline producing nothing deserve nothing. If these people produce anything, it is criticism, angst and defeatism for the producers. I would exclude military from that list because without military protection production is futile.

“You are pretty dumb.”

And you’re a jackass. Gawd, I really hate people like you. Let me guess, either you’re a cop or your daddy, brother or uncle is one. You / they are all over-weight, out of shape and a scared of your own damn shadows. You use steroids because you think that will give you an edge on the rest of us. The only thing that makes you feel safe is the thought that you have a gun, taser, night stick and handcuffs, and the belief that you can shoot, tase, beat and kill any unarmed person you damn well please without being held accountable. You prefer the citizenry be unarmed because you’re terrified somebody may shoot you for being an a$$hole, because you are, in fact, an a$$hole.

Your attempt to lump soldiers in with LEO’s is ridiculous and idiotic.
1. Soldiers don’t bitch and moan about being shot at. LEO’s do.
2. Soldiers fight and die without complaint. LEO’s do nothing but complain.
3. Soldiers die to serve and protect their fellow citizens from evil people that want to do us harm. LEO’s protect themselves first and foremost, and care more about their pensions and fat paychecks than they do about serving and protecting their fellow citizens.

That’s how I see it, and people like you convince me that I’m correct.

So, stick it where the sun don’t shine, you pudwacking POS.

I understand your admiration for producers. I feel the same way.

The thing is that the things/services that they produce have to be used, and that would be by consumers, wouldn’t it?

I found your rationale a tad confusing, but so be it.

“I imagine his $292,500 settlement is making him feel better. “

Good. He deserves it. Be great if the cop had to pay it himself.

“Do you expect the world to be a perfect place?”

If by perfect you mean an innocent guy not getting his ass beat by a cop...Yeah, perfect would be good.

If not, I’m more than willing to pay a $300,000 fine next time I kick the snot out of a cop. Sound fair? Funny how that don’t work both ways.

All producers are consumers.

All consumers are not producers.

Producers will never lack for consumers.

Soldiers get paid so they should quit their bitchin as well, they weren’t forced to join the military.

Honest question: When was the last time you talked to a soldier...or any military member?

I served for 28 years and rarely heard a complaint about pay.

What? Too harsh? C’mon, that guy was a total douche.

It really got me PO’d when he tried comparing cops to soldiers, and attempted to draw parallels between them. There ain’t no comparison between a front-line soldier and a fat, slovenly, over-paid cop with a superiority complex.

JMHO.

Cheers, FRiend.
