EWTN has now made Obama`s enemies list and will probably pay dearly, but I`m glad they`re making a stand.

The whole issue is being mis-framed as a violation only of the freedom of religion of religious employers. The fact of the matter is that it is a violation of the freedom of religion of anyone who opposes abortion and contraception and is an employer. My brother is a partner in a law firm he co-founded. He has an agreement with his partners not to include abortion, abortion-inducing drugs, or contraceptives in their employee Heath plan. He did this over 20 years ago because he accepts the Catholic Church’s teachings on these issues. If this mandate stands, then his freedom of religion not to cooperate in abortion and contraception are also being violated. In fact, the FREEDOM of EVERYONE not to do so is being violated, whether or not they choose to use that freedom.

Time for a donation to EWTN. I think they have a link at EWTN to assist in the lawsuit

Anyone who underestimates EWTN is a fool.Hmmm, now I wonder what you mean by that...
I'm sure the courts can be trusted to rule justly. I'm equally sure that the United States of America doesn't have 55,000,000 innocent lives to atone for.

I am glad they are taking a stand. But my wife brought up an interesting point. Why now? Many states have similar mandates.

How is Mother Angelica doing, anyway? She seems to have dropped out of sight.

I went to Catholic school a long time ago. We had an elderly nun who liked to carry a little souvenir baseball bat, swinging it around as she walked down the hallway. Nobody messed with Sister!

We don’t have that lefty O’Connor on the court anymore. We might just have a different outcome.

Heh.
I went to Don Bosco Technical High School on Warrenton Street in Boston.
Those Salesian brothers weren’t lightweights, either.

She had a stroke awhile back and is not making public appearances any more. She is still doing o.k., considering, and her sisters are I'm sure taking good care of her.

I was at a conference this summer & an update was given on her condition. Sounded like she’s bedridden & pretty much nonverbal but she offers her suffering up to our Lord.
